DO NOT BOOK. This was one of the worst stays I've experienced. We arrived around 11 PM after a late flight. Instead of clear, step-by-step check-in directions, the host emailed a confusing collection of screenshots that were out of order, leaving us struggling to figure out how to access the apartment while exhausted. When we called and texted for clarification, he responded rudely and condescendingly, implying we were incompetent rather than simply explaining the process. His hostility was completely unwarranted.The building entrance smelled foul, and our floor's hallways reeked of marijuana mixed with air freshener. The listing advertised a "luxury" apartment in a walkable area near restaurants and groceries, but the surroundings fell far short of our expectations. Our Uber driver from the airport warned us that the area was unsafe before we even arrived, and we felt uncomfortable with the location.I was there to present research at a surgical conference early the next morning. Around 3 AM, loud noise from upstairs continued for hours, leaving me barely any sleep before my presentation. The AC in my mom's room was also so loud that she couldn't sleep.We checked out early and paid for a hotel for the rest of our trip. Vrbo told us they couldn't help without photos or videos, which we hadn't taken because our main priority was getting out of that environment. Between the hostile host, odors, noise, and misleading listing, this was stressful, exhausting, and costly.
