5 Bedroom, 4 Bath Historic Farmhouse, Character, In-ground Pool and Mt. Views.
Our home is a former bed and breakfast originally constructed in 1907. We are proud to be the fourth owners of this special home. The home boasts five bedrooms, plus a sleeping porch, and four full bathrooms (three showers and one claw-footed tub). It is a great family vacation home in every sense.
The home is located in the countryside near the quaint town of Cashmere (approximately 15 minutes to Leavenworth and 10 minutes to Wenatchee) on a former apple orchard. The property is fully-fenced and is an incredible place for children to play. Our care-taker lives in a separate home on the property and is available for any needs you may have.
A large, private, in-ground swimming pool (seasonal) makes this the perfect place to relax.
The home is located just a few minutes from the Wenatchee River, rock climbing in the Peshastin Pinnacles, as well as the legendary mountain bike trails of Mission Creek and Devil's Gulch. There is great jogging and cycling on quiet country roads out the front door. Beautiful public tennis courts are located less than a half mile away. Skiing is available at both Mission Ridge (35 minutes) and Steven's Pass (45 minutes).
The Bavarian village of Leavenworth is just a short drive away, as is the small city of Wenatchee. Cashmere is a quiet town, and a great place to relax. It is also the home of the world famous Aplets & Cotlets candy factory and the fascinating Pioneer Village Museum.
The house has hosted families and travelers in comfort for more than a century. The master bedroom (queen bed) is located on the main floor with French doors opening to the pool. This bedroom has a private bathroom with shower. The second floor holds four additional bedrooms, and three more bathrooms: #1: double bed with private bath (shower); #2 double bed with private bath (shower); #3 bunk bed, #4 bunk bed + trundle bed. Upstairs the third bathroom is equipped with a claw-footed tub.
The kitchen was recently remodeled with stainless steel appliances and beautiful concrete counters.
The home is heated with both central heat and classic radiators. There is a wood-burning stove in the kitchen as well as a large brick fire place in the living room. There is also central air-conditioning and ceiling fans in every bedroom.
The porch room is equipped with comfortable sofas for lounging and a large flat screen television. Cable TV and DVD/VHS player are available. Wireless internet is also available throughout the house.
Clothes washer and dryer are available for use and located in the basement.
There is a large dining room table, which seats at least ten. The dining room also holds an upright piano.
In full disclosure, this home is not new. It is well over 100 years old and with those years come many marks of character. The home is exceeding comfortable, but not luxurious. It is clean and well-kept but not flawless. Above all else, it is our home, and we are happy to share it with you.

About Ian & Wendy Crossland
We (Ian & Wendy) purchased this property in 2000 when we moved to Cashmere from Seattle to practice law and raise a family. Ian is a third generation Cashmere resident and we have always felt like this is our 'place.' Our life has taken many twists since this original move, but one constant has been our home. We now have four children and are working as educators in South America. Ian is the head of school at a school in Bogota, Colombia, where Wendy is also a teacher. We try and return to our home as frequently as possibly, but when we are not able to we would like to share it with others.

Why Ian & Wendy Crossland chose Chelan County
The Wenatchee Valley is a special place to us for many reasons. Individually, Ian has roots in this area, but for our entire family, this has become our center. It is the place we go to relax, to recreate in the mountains and rivers, and to spend time with family and friends. We love this home in all four seasons, whether swimming in the pool on a hot summer day, playing in the snow in winter, harvesting apples on a cool autumn day, or enjoying the beauty of apple and cherry blossoms in spring.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Our home served as a B&B for many years and is well-equipped for long weekend or week of relaxing and recreation. The combination of unique character it possesses as one of the first homes in the valley, along with the benefits of the large lawns and swimming pool make every visitor feel at home.

Our 3 month old , wife, dog and I loved the house! Full of charm and character with lots of great places to read and relax. Great selection of books for all ages. We stayed towards the end of February so the pool and great yard didn't get much use but fresh snow gave the house and property that much more charm. Minutes to Wenatchee so lot's to do around the area.
Loved this house!
We had such a great time in this house. It is full of charm and room for everyone! The pool was definitely a nice feature. Everything was clean and well stocked. We will be staying here again. Thank you!
Thank you for letting us to stay at your farmhouse for a few days. It was a very pleasant mini vacation.
Here are the things we liked:
Very nice, big and very warm pool (was heated by the warm weather).
Huge backyard for kids to run around.
Kitchen with everything you need for everyday living.
TV with cable and WiFi.
Very nice refrigerator/stove and dishwasher.
Washer and Dryer in the basement--thank you :)
The things that we didn't like: :)
Couches in the living room looked really bad and old--sorry, didn't want to seat on them.
The doors in the bathrooms don't lock and some don't even close.
Shower heads are hard to take a shower with if you have small kids that you have to wash yourself.
I would recommend this house to my friends, it was a pleasant stay with minor minuses.
Thank you Ian and Wendy,
Thank you once again for staying with us, and for sharing your experience. We are glad you enjoyed your time in Cashmere, and hope you return next summer. Our home is old (more than 110 years) and you have touched on some of the aspects of its "character."
As for the sofas, I can assure you they are very clean, just well-worn suede (with a few stains). Definitely something we will rectify for the future, but please know they are clean.
The bathrooms doors. You are correct that in some temperatures one of the doors swells and is difficult to close fully. Again, something we will address. The absence of bathroom locks is also a fair point. The house has existed without locks for over one hundred years and we have never seen the need, but your point is well taken.
And in terms of the shower heads, we would love it if you could send us an email or private message clarifying your observation. It is not clear to us what you would like to see improved with the showers.
In sum, we are glad you had a great stay and really appreciate your complete, honest evaluation. Please do return.

Best vacation house ever
We had 8 adults and 4 kids in our party, and the house was more than we could have imagined. Everyone was comfortable in the beds. The pool was surprisingly warm and immaculate. The entire house was very clean and we all loved the decorations and family photos. We enjoyed the piano and had a great time making dinners together in the kitchen. The huge lawn was perfect for croquet and I think everyone took a turn swinging in the hammock. The yard was perfect for kids to be able to run around and explore country life. We loved the fresh raspberries, and other fruit that was ripe during our stay. I have rented many houses through VRBO, but this was the first home I rented and it was a wonderful place to bond with good friends. We all left wishing we had one more day. I could easily do a week in this house and I'd still wish for more time.
Thank you for staying with us, and for sharing your experience. We are delighted you had such an enjoyable time. Please come back!
Best, Ian & Wendy
Had a wonderful weekend
It was a great place for our family getaway. There was plenty of room for 3 couples and 6 kids. The back yard was huge and the kids loved the hammock, pool, and all the room to run and play. The front yard facing the street was charming. Fencing around the entire property, including a gate on the front walkway provided an extra feeling of protection for the toddlers--keeping them from wandering out or into danger if you happened to look away for a moment.
We felt very secure at this location. It's close to the city of Wenatchee for shopping, and close to Leavenworth and the cascades--we really enjoyed Icicle Creek: what a spectacular drive and hike!
The mattresses have been upgraded and everyone enjoyed comfortable nights of sleep! :-)
The home is more than 100 years old, but was clean, well maintained, and very adequate for our needs. We never ran out of hot water either. :-) And it even had a piano that was pretty much in tune. We're glad we stayed here and would recommend it.
Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a wonderful weekend in Cashmere. Please come back!

I stayed here with a group of friends for a wedding that was in Wenatchee. Best. Place. Ever. More than enough room, the kitchen was fabulous, dining room great for card games and the back yard a dream for bocce ball, soccer, swimming and hot tub. The hot tub broke one night but Marta the next door neighbor knew how to fix. Will be back. Fabulous old home. Wish it was my own.
The Wenatchee Valley is a recreation paradise. We enjoy four distinct and beautiful seasons, and endless opportunities of recreation.
