Historic Farmhouse With Private Pool

Bedrooms 5
Space 3,000 sq ft
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

5 Bedroom, 4 Bath Historic Farmhouse, Character, In-ground Pool and Mt. Views.

Our home is a former bed and breakfast originally constructed in 1907. We are proud to be the fourth owners of this special home. The home boasts five bedrooms, plus a sleeping porch, and four full bathrooms (three showers and one claw-footed tub). It is a great family vacation home in every sense.

The home is located in the countryside near the quaint town of Cashmere (approximately 15 minutes to Leavenworth and 10 minutes to Wenatchee) on a former apple orchard. The property is fully-fenced and is an incredible place for children to play. Our care-taker lives in a separate home on the property and is available for any needs you may have.

A large, private, in-ground swimming pool (seasonal) makes this the perfect place to relax.

The home is located just a few minutes from the Wenatchee River, rock climbing in the Peshastin Pinnacles, as well as the legendary mountain bike trails of Mission Creek and Devil's Gulch. There is great jogging and cycling on quiet country roads out the front door. Beautiful public tennis courts are located less than a half mile away. Skiing is available at both Mission Ridge (35 minutes) and Steven's Pass (45 minutes).

The Bavarian village of Leavenworth is just a short drive away, as is the small city of Wenatchee. Cashmere is a quiet town, and a great place to relax. It is also the home of the world famous Aplets & Cotlets candy factory and the fascinating Pioneer Village Museum.

The house has hosted families and travelers in comfort for more than a century. The master bedroom (queen bed) is located on the main floor with French doors opening to the pool. This bedroom has a private bathroom with shower. The second floor holds four additional bedrooms, and three more bathrooms: #1: double bed with private bath (shower); #2 double bed with private bath (shower); #3 bunk bed, #4 bunk bed + trundle bed. Upstairs the third bathroom is equipped with a claw-footed tub.

The kitchen was recently remodeled with stainless steel appliances and beautiful concrete counters.

The home is heated with both central heat and classic radiators. There is a wood-burning stove in the kitchen as well as a large brick fire place in the living room. There is also central air-conditioning and ceiling fans in every bedroom.

The porch room is equipped with comfortable sofas for lounging and a large flat screen television. Cable TV and DVD/VHS player are available. Wireless internet is also available throughout the house.

Clothes washer and dryer are available for use and located in the basement.

There is a large dining room table, which seats at least ten. The dining room also holds an upright piano.

In full disclosure, this home is not new. It is well over 100 years old and with those years come many marks of character. The home is exceeding comfortable, but not luxurious. It is clean and well-kept but not flawless. Above all else, it is our home, and we are happy to share it with you.

About Ian & Wendy Crossland

We (Ian & Wendy) purchased this property in 2000 when we moved to Cashmere from Seattle to practice law and raise a family. Ian is a third generation Cashmere resident and we have always felt like this is our 'place.' Our life has taken many twists since this original move, but one constant has been our home.

We now have four children and are working as educators in South America. Ian is the head of school at a school in Bogota, Colombia, where Wendy is also a teacher. We try and return to our home as frequently as possibly, but when we are not able to we would like to share it with others.

Why Ian & Wendy Crossland chose Cashmere

The Wenatchee Valley is a special place to us for many reasons. Individually, Ian has roots in this area, but for our entire family, this has become our center. It is the place we go to relax, to recreate in the mountains and rivers, and to spend time with family and friends. We love this home in all four seasons, whether swimming in the pool on a hot summer day, playing in the snow in winter, harvesting apples on a cool autumn day, or enjoying the beauty of apple and cherry blossoms in spring.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our home served as a B&B for many years and is well-equipped for long weekend or week of relaxing and recreation. The combination of unique character it possesses as one of the first homes in the valley, along with the benefits of the large lawns and swimming pool make every visitor feel at home.

We love getting to know your family through your lovely photos, signs, pictures and mementos of your family travels. Thank you for sharing your warm, loving home, beautiful and peaceful yard, red and green apples, grill and hot tub with us. Many blessings to you.

Thank you for making your home available for us to have our own Cashmere get-away. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere and welcome ambiance.

Great outdoor space! Perfect for our family vacation each year!

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed here several times and it works great for us! The house is always clean and ready for our arrival.

Wonderful outdoor space with the yard and pool; brand new bbq grill is great and the pool is in good shape. There are a few repairs needed around the property, but overall great stay!

We had an enjoyable stay at this property. The farmhouse provides a unique vacation experience. It's a great place to chill. If you're looking for 5-star luxury amenities, probably not for you. But if you want a great casual place for families to sprawl, with lots of beds and outdoor play space? Absolutely! The pool was a treat, perfect temperature during our stay in 90+ degree weather. The house has a built in A/C system which was nice, too.

Wonderful time in a beautiful cozy house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights (multiple families), I enjoyed our time here. Kids had so much fun in the pool and just hanging out at home (WiFi works great!), adults also loved the pool, cooking/eating together, playing board games. Love the location too, close to Leavenworth as well as Wenatchee. Got to pick some peaches and nectarines at Stutzman Ranch in Wenatchee! Thank you for letting us stay at your house!

Stayed cool in the pool

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect location for our extended family vacation. 4 families were very comfortable here. Very comfortable beds. Loved the private bathrooms in the bedrooms. Lots of space for everyone to spread out. The kids loved the pool; it was perfect with the heat. The backyard is amazing; so much space for the kids to run and play. Love the outdoor seating also. The couches really need a couch cover; so many stains; ewww! But just a minor thing. The AC stopped working a couple times; my FIL just reset the breaker. Not sure what caused it to trip. Overall we loved our stay, great location; close to Leavenworth and Wenatchee. So quiet and comes with everything you need. We would love to come back!

Great house

  • 5 of 5

Our 3 month old , wife, dog and I loved the house! Full of charm and character with lots of great places to read and relax. Great selection of books for all ages. We stayed towards the end of February so the pool and great yard didn't get much use but fresh snow gave the house and property that much more charm. Minutes to Wenatchee so lot's to do around the area.
