About Todd Loomis

We are Todd and Denise and came to Taos 6 years ago. We decided to spend our Winters here. We are active in the outdoors and love that there is always something going on in town.

Todd Loomis purchased this house in 2013

Why Todd Loomis chose Taos

The house sits in a private neighborhood on a hillside and overlooks the town of Taos. It is 2 miles from the Taos Plaza. The area offers many activities:

. Hiking - Many hiking trails are within a mile of the house. The neighborhood borders Carson National Forest and there are there is even more on the way up to the Taos Ski Valley or on the way to Angel Fire.

. Mountain Biking - The South Boundary Trail ends a little over a mile away. Central access to hit the Downhill trails at Angel Fire, the easier Riff Valley trail area south of town, the West Rim and Horsethief up north and many others.

. Swimming - the Taos pool is minutes away and great for lap and open swimming

. Fishing - World class fly fishing, with several shops with guide service in town.

. Skiing and Boarding - Taos Ski Valley is 20 miles away offering world class skiing at a great value. Ranked in the top 20 of US Resorts by Ski Magazine and 4th for Advanced Skiing. Plenty of Novice and Intermediate runs, and we've allowed snowboarders for the past 5 years.

. Galleries and Museums - A wide variety of galleries and artisans in town. The Harwood and Millicent Rogers museums have excellent collections of New Mexican art and shows throughout the year. The Taos Center for the Arts (TCA) has live performances, simulcasts, movies and art showings.

. Live Music - 5+ live venues every night. The Adobe Bar has free shows that start early, and the Cantena, KTAO, and Taos Mesa Brewery all have entertainment nightly.

. Restaurants - A great assortment of Southwest cuisine, running from green chili cheeseburgers to high end restaurants.

. Breweries - We boast 3 local breweries and all are very different. Eskes and the Ale House in town, and the Taos Mesa Brewery is worth the 7 mile drive.

Our central location provides easy access to the many activities that Taos has to offer.

A stunning home with a memorable view of Taos below

  • 5 of 5

We were so comfortable in this well-planned home. It is beautifully designed and executed. As an artist I was simply enchanted by the art in this home. I felt as though I was in my own private gallery. We ate out on the terrace and even entertained friends who were also in Taos on vacation. The propane heater made alfresco dining perfect on a very chilly night. chilly night. The kitchen is beautiful with high end appliances and everything that you could need.

I should have mentioned the garden entry first. The blues, purples, yellows and silver along the stone walkway demanded that I take many photos. Access to town and the Enchanted Circle was outstanding. And the information binder was a great help.

Except for an over chlorinated hot tub and lack of reading lamps in the main living area, I wouldn't have changed a thing. So I still say it is a five star. It was a total. delight.

Peaceful Oasis!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved staying here! The home is on a quiet peace of land overlooking Taos valley with a wrap around deck with great views. We loved sitting on the porch at night drinking wine and in the morning with our coffee watching the hummingbirds. We also loved the kitchen and living room with beautiful Taos decor. Todd was very responsive and attentive to our needs. We would whole heartedly recommend this property to our friends, family and/or anyone else looking for a little piece of heaven in Taos. Enjoy!

Couldn't be more perfect for Taos!

  • 5 of 5

This house has everything you could want or need. First off, the view is more than amazing; it sits on a hill overlooking Taos and the panorama must be at least 25 to 50 miles deep and wide. The house itself is fantastic; it has a covered wrap-around patio with 2 dining areas, one of which is covered. There is a separate area (across a bridge over an arroyo) with a hot tub and another sitting/dining area. The inside of the house has a beautiful, well-equipped kitchen which opens up to a large family room with a larger dining table. The master bedroom is great and the master bath is amazing. The second bedroom and bathroom fit in well with the house. It is also only a 5 minute drive to Central Taos and easily accessible to Angel Fire or anywhere else in the Taos area. We didn't want to leave!

Great house to stay

  • 5 of 5

My family recently stayed in the property for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed the house. Everything is high end and very comfortable. The outdoor patios were wonderful with amazing views. There are three separate areas you can have a sit down meal outdoors!

There were plenty of plates, glasses and general cookware required to prepare meals each day. The kitchen is beautiful. Beds were comfortable and the pull out couch has an excellent mattress. We did make good use of the hot tub after several hiking trips.

The house is just outside of town on a hill overlooking town with great views. The trip to town is about a five minute drive. The grounds are great to explore, as it is fairly private.
