Let's start with the positive; the neighborhood was lovely and the location near Siesta Key was excellent, but be aware that nearby construction created significant noise, and the property is not nearly as well maintained as other houses in the neighborhood.Inside, the house is dated, with worn flooring, old bathrooms (w/ tile dating back to the 1970's), and lingering odors masked by candles and air fresheners. Cleanliness raised immediate concerns: the refrigerator still contained leftover food from previous guests, patio trash hadn’t been emptied, and I found a large hairball (really gross) in a shower. When I contacted the owner, his reply was that I was the first guest to complain about the cleanliness. When traveling in the winter, we insist on renting houses with heated pools. I even inquired with owner about the heated pool BEFORE booking. This pool, while advertised as heated, was cold, badly stained, and appeared poorly maintained. After multiple messages asking how to heat it, I was told it could take about a week to warm up — far longer than my three-night stay — which felt misleading and made the pool unusable. The owner later replied the listing should not have stated the pool was heated.The laundry area also had a strong gasoline smell that gave my wife headaches & even made our clothes smell like fuel. While the location was excellent, the lack of cleanliness, misleading pool & noise expectations, and poor owner communication overshadowed any positives.

Craig has a lovely house! We couldn’t use the pool because it was so cold outside, but it is kept up professionally. We were constantly in the go in Sarasota so we came back exhausted. The beds and showers worked wonderfully!
