The Space:

**Please Note: The neighboring property, Solace Retreat, is currently undergoing construction. Construction hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The most intensive work, such as demolition, has already been completed. While we don’t anticipate significant sound disruptions, we’ll notify you in advance if any especially noisy work is scheduled during your stay. For your comfort, we also provide white noise machines, earplugs and eye masks to help minimize any impact on early morning sleep. We appreciate your understanding and are here to ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable experience.**



Shadow House is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom luxury home, newly built with a focus on raw, natural materials and high design. The home is located within the serene Solace Retreat, a private 10-acre sanctuary in Joshua Tree. This luxurious home shares the large property with another home, Solace Retreat, though both are designed for complete privacy, with no shared spaces.



Step inside to discover neutral tones, beautiful Zia Moroccan tiles, and high-pitched, wood-slated ceilings that create a sense of openness and serenity. The design blends seamlessly with nature to create a calming environment, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Joshua Tree National Park, which is just a short walk away from the property.



-Living Area-

The living area is bathed in natural light, with large sliding glass doors that frame the stunning desert views in every direction. The space is designed for relaxation, with a lush, comfortable sofa that invites you to sink in and enjoy the calm. High-pitched ceilings amplify the sense of space and openness, making this the ideal spot to relax, reflect, and reconnect. There is a large, smart TV for movie nights, and (insert sound system) to set the mood. For larger groups that need additional sleeping space, the sofa unfolds into a comfortable queen sofa bed.



-Kitchen & Dining-

The fully stocked kitchen features luxurious raw Zia Zelliage Moroccan tiles, high-end appliances, and with everything you need to prepare meals at home. Whether you're cooking a feast or making a simple snack, the neutral tones and beautiful design details make this space a pleasure to work in.



The center island has bar seating for four for a quick meal indoors. Just outside, there are two separate dining options for you to enjoy meals at any time of day. The back deck has a smaller outdoor dining area to enjoy the sunrise to the east, perfect to enjoy breakfast and morning coffee. The large front deck has a dining table on the west side of the home where you can enjoy meals during sunset with stunning views under the open sky.



-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-

Each of the two bedrooms features a king-sized bed with luxurious linens and private ensuite bathrooms, creating personal sanctuaries within the house. Each bedroom also has a closet space with a dresser, and a desk space for working from home. The bathrooms are outfitted with spa-like rain walk-in showers, and the raw Moroccan tiles add a unique, handcrafted touch. For added relaxation, the primary bedroom has its own private outdoor lounge area with a sectional and an outdoor shower, offering a seamless connection to nature.



-Outdoor Amenities-

Step outside to discover multiple outdoor spaces designed for relaxation and connection with nature. The front deck is equipped with a gas fire pit, a large dining table, a BBQ, and a cozy hanging daybed for those peaceful desert evenings. The side deck space features a built-in hot tub and cowboy tub soaking pool, surrounded by a large wooden deck with comfortable Sunbrella pouf loungers and a sunken floating hammock bed. The back deck provides an additional dining area and another outdoor shower, allowing you to fully embrace the desert lifestyle under the stars.

The private 10-acre property provides a sense of seclusion, yet you can walk directly into Joshua Tree National Park from the house. As night falls, you'll be treated to incredible starry skies—perfect for quiet reflection or gathering around the fire pit. Whether you're here to explore the park, stargaze, or simply unwind, this serene retreat invites you to connect with nature, yourself, and others.

800,000 acres of mystical beauty: Joshua Tree National Park is one of the world’s most incredible natural desert treasures, and at Shadow House at Solace Retreat, it is just outside of your doorstep. Sweeping, grand, and populated by granite monoliths and voluptuous rock and boulder formations, this quiet land, conducive to meditation and roaming, was carved by extremes in climate - wind, rain and an ever-present, relentless sun. Diverse forms of plant life are found everywhere, but none as unique or prevalent as the park’s namesake: the Joshua tree, standing majestically across the vast topography.



Joshua Tree is also known for its quirky art installations and unique restaurants - visit local art installations or discover the charm of nearby shops and eateries. But with the peace, quiet, and natural beauty surrounding you, you may find it hard to leave this sanctuary.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that there is a closet in the living room area that house supplies for the rental - it is locked to guests.

The home is situated in a beautiful and tranquil area of south Joshua Tree. All homes in this area are on acreage, giving guests privacy and tranquility. The home is also adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park, which can be accessed by foot, or through private roads that lead to a back entrance to the park - no lines!

Getting Around:

Please note that Shadow House is in a remote location, and the last 1.7 miles to the home are on a dirt road, so please take it slow. The dirt road is maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have large bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.



A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.
