Cabin w/private Waterfalls-Views-Hot Tub-Fire Pit!

This unique place has a style all its own designed to emulate a Ranger Retreat /fire tower. The cabin has a commanding view of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls/Gorge. The cabin was built out of 100+year old reclaimed materials with 15 foot vaulted ceilings on the main floor. With poplar bark walls, incredible lighting, hand cut slate floors your stay is guaranteed to be enchanting. Sit in the hot tub and look at a waterfall while listening to another waterfall behind you and river below you! OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE/VACATION HERE ON THE MOUNTAIN!!

The space
Our place sit’s on 6 acres and is beautifully designed so that you can fully experience the mountains during your stay. This very unique and hand crafted cabin consists of all reclaimed materials with a slate roof, hand cut slate floors, barnboard and popular bark walls and windows galore. We think that the lighting is truly special with over 50 mini spotlights in the ceiling all on dimmers that can make the cabin feel very enchanting. It truly is so beautiful sitting on the back deck or in the hot tub and looking directly at the Hickory Nut Falls
(300ft waterfall) or Chimney Rock or even up the gorge at Blue Rock. With 500 acres of Park land behind our house with hiking trails and 2 waterfalls that are only accessible from this property you’re guaranteed an amazing private experience!This is truly a destination location. Rainbow Falls, which is about a 35 minute hike up the mountain, is only accessible from our property. It’s a 100 foot waterfall that you will have completely to yourselves! Plus, only an eight minute hike from the cabin is yet another private waterfall 35 ft tall that is absolutely gorgeous!
We rarely want to leave but if you do want to check out the local area, we’re only 15 miles from Hendersonville and 25 miles from Asheville and Black Mountain We love those areas too and are happy to make some great recommendations for your stay. We are also located in the center of 6 wonderful wineries only 15-25 minutes away in both the Hendersonville and Rutherfordton areas.

All wheel drive cars are never an issue getting up our gravel driveway. Some people feel comfortable using a front wheel drive car to access the cabin. Some don’t. That’s why we always have the Jeep Wrangler for our guests that would like to use it to get up and down the driveway.

Guest access
Our property is located in a gated community. We will give you gate entry codes upon booking and completing the reservation. We do want our guest to know that you have the entire Ranger Retreat guesthouse to yourselves. We are sometimes on the property finishing the build of our main house located above this guest house. We do all that we can to ensure your privacy.
Some feel comfortable with driving a front wheel drive car up our driveway and some don’t. All wheel drives have no problem at all. But We always have a two-door Jeep Wrangler automatic that’s super simple to drive for our guest to use if they should so desire.

We’ve lived in this area for 30+ years so we know a lot of the best places, hikes, restaurants, breweries, wineries, and activities to do in and around Western North Carolina.
