About the host
Your host
Fireside Cabins is a family-owned and operated retreat in Baraboo, Wisconsin. After years of military service that took our family around the world, we returned to Wisconsin with a deep appreciation for what makes this place special, the beauty of Devil's Lake, the charm of small-town Baraboo, and the simple joy of gathering around a fire with people you care about.
We took a historic 1930s cabin resort and painstakingly restored and rebuilt it, cabin by cabin, with the goal of creating a place where guests feel genuinely welcome and genuinely comfortable. Every detail, from the handcrafted live-edge vanities to the burnt-wood trim work, was chosen with care.
We offer a fully contactless experience, so you can arrive, settle in, and enjoy your stay entirely on your own terms. No check-in desk, no small talk required. For guests who prefer a personal touch, we are on-site most days and happy to connect, and our local team is just minutes away if anything comes up. Either way, we are responsive and we genuinely care whether you leave happy.

Why they chose this property
Our path to Fireside Cabins started in France. While living there, we dreamed of purchasing an old chateau to renovate into a bed and breakfast, but the timing wasn't right. When we returned to Wisconsin, we found the perfect local equivalent, a historic 1930s cabin resort tucked under mature trees in Baraboo. Rustic Wisconsin charm in place of French stone walls, but the same dream of restoring something beautiful and sharing it with guests.
We couldn't have picked a better location. Baraboo sits at the heart of some of Wisconsin's most stunning natural landscapes. Devil's Lake State Park, one of Wisconsin's most visited and beloved parks, is just minutes away, offering breathtaking bluffs, crystal-clear waters, and miles of hiking trails. The Wisconsin Dells, with its mix of natural waterways and family-friendly attractions, is equally close.
At the same time, Baraboo itself is a thriving, walkable small city with excellent restaurants, local shops, a beautiful historic courthouse square, and a vibrant arts community. Circus World Museum and Parfrey's Glen are nearby gems that often surprise first-time visitors. It's the kind of location that's hard to find, convenient without feeling touristy, and natural without being remote.

What makes this property unique
Fireside Cabins is a lovingly restored 1930s Wisconsin cabin resort with a simple mission: breathe new life into a piece of local history and give it another 100 years of life. Every cabin has been individually rebuilt with handcrafted details, burnt-wood window trim, live-edge wood vanities, custom tile work, and thoughtful modern touches that you simply won't find at a chain hotel or a generic rental property.
We offer a fully contactless experience, so you can arrive, settle in, and enjoy your stay entirely on your own terms. For guests who prefer a personal touch, we are on-site most days and happy to connect, and our local team is just minutes away if anything comes up.
Our amenities set us apart from anything else in the area. Guests enjoy private covered porches, personal fire rings, wooded walking trails, shared charcoal and propane grilling stations, a fenced off-leash dog park, a communal firepit, and EV charging, all on a beautifully restored 3.5-acre property under mature trees. Our on-site Wine and Beer Bar, open Thursday through Saturday evenings, means a great local pour is never more than a short walk away.
For Cabin 10 specifically, the location on the property is a genuine perk for pet owners. Positioned directly in front of our fenced dog park, your four-legged family member can be off-leash and running within seconds of leaving the cabin. It's a rare find, a cozy, well-appointed cabin stay where your dog enjoys the trip just as much as you do.
