This cabin has amazing potential, and the host was responsive throughout our stay. I appreciated the 100 refund after I found leftover food in the oven and the offer of a future discount.Unfortunately, the biggest issue was cleanliness and maintenance. The towels were still damp when we arrived, the single bedroom smelled musty, the AC filter was filthy, and I even found a dead fly in my child’s bunk bed after stripping the sheets. The kitchen needed a deep clean—there was leftover food in the oven, melted ice cream in the freezer, dirty pots and pans, very limited utensils, and the dishwasher didn’t work. The floors also had visible dirt and dust. The listing should mention there are stairs, as we would have packed a baby gate. It also advertises AC, but only the upstairs bedrooms have it. The downstairs became very hot, which was difficult since my son has asthma. There were also exposed mouse and sticky traps that aren’t ideal for families with young children, several broken fire pit chairs (my 52-pound son fell through one), a constantly dripping shower, and a damaged vehicle left in the driveway. The bear visit was memorable (and a little terrifying!), but that’s part of being in New Hampshire. Overall, this property has great bones, but it needs much better cleaning and some maintenance before I’d feel comfortable recommending it. If those issues were addressed, I would consider staying again.

Pics of the house and property are way outdated. Yard was overgrown. There was dirty linen sitting on the counter. Missing bedding on one of the beds a pile of dust on kitchen counter. The entire house needs to be updated, but the host was very prompt replying back. I think he might’ve bought the property and really hasn’t seen it.
