Dog-friendly, waterfront home on St. George River with shore access, great views
Driftwood is one of those places - both in form and function - that feels distinctly Maine. Maybe it's the pristine waterfront location at the end of a winding, private road just a mile or two from Port Clyde. Or perhaps it's the way the house itself feels, thanks to an abundance of windows, clean lines, and a true sense of peace and quiet. Whatever it is, Driftwood is everything a stay in Maine should be.
A full deck (new in 2024 with new deck furniture as well) is a great place to overlook the vast, saltwater St. George River makes this space as comfortable for two people as it is for six. The first floor is more or less an open-concept space, with a comfortable living room that flows easily into the dining area with seating for six. Access to the front deck is right here as well, where you'll find plenty of outdoor seating, a grill, and just about the nicest views you could ever want at any time of day. The galley-style kitchen includes a full-size gas stove and a dishwasher, and it's well-equipped for meal preparation.
The primary bedroom is also on this floor, tucked away at the back of the house in a sunny, spacious spot. Upstairs, find two more bedrooms, both of which are bright and sunny with beds close to the windows, so you can hear the water lap on the shore as you fall asleep.
The shore is easily accessible by a well-worn path - the owners of Driftwood report this area is just right for kayaking and paddleboarding. The villages of Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor are both within a few minutes' drive, with Sandy Drift Inn Beach minutes away as well.

Looking for quiet old world charm in a large cabin? Look no further, only five minutes to Boothba...
Full kitchen, for cooking up fresh lobsters, enjoyed on a private deck over looking wooded landscape. You can smell the ocean from there! We also had a fire in the oversized fireplace on a rainy evening! Really a great place to relax and catch up with a book or some artwork!
Everything was great, just sound travels easily so little privacy if you want a private conversation or if you have multiple couples staying

Nice quiet location. Only downfall was the driveway. Not super easy to get in and out with a truck.

We stayed here for two nights with my parents and our three children. It is a beautiful rustic log cabin in the woods surrounded by trees. We enjoyed using the stone log fireplace every evening. The kitchen has the basics and the beds were comfortable. The cabin has baseboard heaters. The location was very convenient to Boothbay Harbor.
Had a great time in this very rustic home. The place has everything needed including enough fans for all, in the many rooms. It was hot and they were appreciated. We loved the attached table on the deck. It saved all of our dominoes and dice from going over. I sat in the pouring rain, on the deck, having coffee, early Monday morning.....heaven!
0/10 DO NOT recommend this property. My family and I arrived to a filthy home filled with cob webs and bugs. At the time of our rental, the listing stated that this home has a private washer/ dryer and there is not one (since updated wording by Vacasa). This listing also states 2 bathrooms- this is NOT the case. Do NOT rent if you need 2 bathrooms! This doesn't even qualify as having 1.5 baths. This cabin has the most uncomfortable furniture and beds. We contacted Vacasa multiple times and never received a returned call. We had spiders and other bugs in our beds. We couldn't even stay here and had to leave this property because it was so uncomfortable and filthy. Vacasa refused to help us or refund our money. Had a very difficult time communicating with Vacasa- no returned phone calls and a very rude manager who offered no resolution. I have never complained about any rental property, and I would certainly NOT recommend this one or any Vacasa property in the future bc they have awful Customer Service and treated us downright rudely. This rental
was an absolute nightmare! I have never in my life been so disapointed- false advertising, trickery and then treating the complaints with rudeness.
