Beautiful home and location in Tenants Harbor

  • 4 of 5

Great place to stay with comfortable amenities. Conveniently located to Rockland yet far enough away to avoid the busyness of town. Planning on a 2017 return

Amazing Waterfront views!

  • 5 of 5

We shared this home with another couple for a full week in early October. The fall foliage was peaking and the weather was great. Loved the location. It's about 15-20 minutes south of Rockland. The home featured one bedroom with full bath on the main floor and a spacious master bedroom upstairs, along with a 3rd bedroom and utility room. The kitchen is large and had all the utensils, plates, glassware we'd ever need. Nice having both an eating bar and breakfast nook table. Really enjoyed the gas fire place on the back deck. Although there are homes on both sides, it felt very private. Loved having the kayaks onsite. Also enjoyed walking down to the boat launch area. Several areas to sit and enjoy the water. We found some sea glass at lowtide. We would highly recommend staying here and look forward to our next visit.

A Week of Maineland Bliss

  • 4 of 5

Three senior couples decided we needed some lobster, beautiful scenery and crisper weather than the soggy Southeast has provided for most of the summer. Our VRBO selection in Tennant's Harbor proved the right tonic. With a gas fired fire pit on the front deck overlooking the blue waters of Penobscot Bay, we arranged our daily returns to the house at cocktail hour to take full advantage of the gorgeous vista. Our travels included nearby Port Clyde, more distant Camden and Boothbay Harbor, as well as stops in between. As time has a bad habit of doing, it flew by entirely too fast for the fun we were having, I would highly recommend the area and the house as getaway locations. Need more lobster now!

This house is absolutely gorgeous! It was a perfect fit for 5 adults and our 3 year old daughter. The furnishings and décor were all high end. We enjoyed games of corn hole in the side yard. The gas fire pit was used almost every night of our stay. The chefs kitchen was outstanding to cook in! We enjoyed exploring nearby towns, and we were a quick drive into Rockland for dinner a few nights. The sky at night from the end of the dock was magical, we were especially lucky to be there during a meteor shower!

Our ONLY complaint was not having AC! In a house so new, so well updated - central air is a MUST! We had a few hot, humid, days/nights and the ocean breeze does not cut it!

Highly recommend this home!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us! We are looking into some type of a large barn fan to cool the house down on the summer nights!

Perfectly Maine, beautiful house, unforgettable water views

  • 5 of 5

Everything we hoped for! Kudos to your cleaning crew, the home was spotless when we arrived. Such a warm welcome after a long car ride. The floor plan worked well for our family with our 1 year old granddaughter. The bedrooms are well spaced for possibly 3 different couples. The home is open and bright, well situated, comfortable and beautifully furnished. We enjoyed exploring local communities Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde, Rockland and Thomaston. We especially treasured the Project Puffin Visitors Center in Rockland and the Maine State Prison Woodworking Showroom in Thomaston is a must see for anyone in the area. The inventory is overwhelming, craftsmanship superb and prices are unbeatable! Loved the screened porch and deck with the fire pit. Had a little extra excitement one morning when a boat moored off the end of our dock was mostly submerged. Watched the salvage crew work as we sipped our coffee. Ate several times at The Happy Clam - our favorite place. Great location for day trips to LL Bean in Freeport and Bar Harbor/Acadia. Lots of various sitting areas and lawjn area - we played corn hole & explored the rocky area at low tide. Would love to return for another vacation. The view from the house is unforgettable. Perfectly Maine!

What a beautiful place to stay on our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely property and great location!

Very clean and well maintained, we felt very much at home as all the basic necessities were provided in a very luxurious and comfortable surrounding. Gorgeous views of the water. The house had its own private dock, a big deck, complete with a fire pit and a large backyard. 2 kayaks were provided for our use.

We enjoyed preparing and having meals in the huge kitchen! Nicely fitted with the best kitchen appliances, it was a joy preparing our meals. Having fresh ingredients readily available at the Tenant's Harbor general store close by was a nice convenience (we bought lobsters!) But Rockland's Jess Seafood carries a variety of seafood and was worth the drive.

It was worth waking up early to watch the sunrise.

Love having the treadmill as it provided us with a great alternative to running outside when it rained for a few days.

The master bedroom was bright and had an amazing view to wake up to. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with en suite bathrooms.

Very accessible. We were able to drive easily towards Port Clyde (we had 2 meals at The Dip Net, took the boat ride to Monhegan island) and Rockland (they had a farmers' market and Main Street had nice shops and restaurants). A nice surprise was finding wineries close by.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back.

Highly recommended for families or 2 couples. Very spacious.
