About the property

3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

This is an immaculate and comfortable house with unobstructed views of the water from most rooms and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. Hayden Point is a relaxing retreat that makes access easy for anyone with limited mobility. On a quiet dead-end road, the house overlooks a salt waterway leading to the Atlantic.

Hayden Point owns 100 feet of saltwater frontage making east access to the river for fishing, kayaking or canoeing via steps leading down to a small floating dock. There is also a boat launch open for public use about one half mile from the Hayden Point House.

The kitchen contains everything you need to cook a gourmet meal, but you also can get some of the best lobster in Maine 5 minutes away, and you are only five miles from downtown Rockland, which has several outstanding restaurants, as well as a fine art museum, galleries and shops. Camden is a short distance as well.

This craftsman style home built in 2004 has 2.5 baths and sleeps 8 adults in three bedrooms (children are welcome, too!). Everything is on the ground floor except the third bedroom and bath. On the ground floor, a private master suite with water views has a king-size bed and sitting area, a large bathroom with a custom walk in shower, and two vanities (one within the bathroom and one in the hallway to the bath). A second bedroom on the ground floor has a queen-sized bed and small sitting area, and a nearby half bath. Upstairs there is a second full bath off a very large bedroom with a big sitting area, games table and 180 degree spectacular water views. The king-sized bed in this room can be separated into two extra-long twin beds and there also is a queen sleeper sofa. A portable crib is provided as well. The house has a great deal of closet space and drawers for storage. All linens are provided and are 100% cotton. A washer and dryer on the ground level provided as well.

The ground floor has the main living space with an open dining room, which seats 6-8 people, and living room overlooking the lawn and the water beyond. The kitchen is fully-equipped with solid-surface counter tops, cherry cabinetry, an electric oven, gas cook-top, dishwasher, trash-compactor, microwave, double-door refrigerator and dishwasher and a walk-in pantry. The kitchen has a breakfast nook and double French doors leading to the wraparound deck. The deck has a table, plenty of seating and a grill.

The living room and den area is outfitted with comfortable and stylish furnishings, a flat-screen television, cable, a DVD player, stereo and Internet access. There is even a whole-house back-up generator, so no need to worry about power loss. Large windows overlook the deck and the expansive lawn and waterfront. Novels, local guide books and maps are also included.

South Thomaston is located just five miles from downtown Rockland, 15 miles from Camden/Rockport and five miles from the St. George Peninsula and the villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. Hayden Point is less than 10 minutes from Primo, one of the best restaurants in New England.

We have a professional caretaker on call during your stay should any problem arise. Dogs are allowed with owner permission and additional pet fee.

Why Kay Etheridge chose South Thomaston

Mid-coast Maine is special due to the lovely people and beautiful setting. Hayden Point is quiet and away from it all, but only a 10 minute drive from Rockland, which has an abundance of shops, restaurants, galleries and lots to do. We have been going to Maine for more than 20 years and this is our favorite area by far.

What makes this house unique

Gorgeous sunsets over the water and beautiful morning light. Most rooms have a water view through large windows. Clutter-free house with spacious, peaceful atmosphere.

Wonderful time of the year to visit the area.

No crowds, no waiting anywhere.

Foliage was awesome as was the cooler Fall weather.

The wonderful house and setting tops it all.

The house on Hayden Point has everything one needs for a perfect mid-coast Maine stay: gorgeous water views; well appointed and comfortable accommodations; lovely deck with shade covering; and very close to Rockland, Camden and many beautiful Maine beaches. The peace and beauty of the home is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. Be sure to check out the Farnsworth Museum, Primo and Good Eats in Rockland. Birch Point State Park is 2.5 miles away and the quintessential Maine beach. You won't be disappointed with this lovely home.

Beautiful , well cared for house and grounds

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was delightful! The property is in the center of so much that Maine has to offer: Fourth of July parade in Thomaston, whale watching from Booth Bay Harbor, sailing from Camden and fabulous food everywhere. A great experience!

Beautiful home in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky to stay a week in this comfortable and beautiful home - right at the peak of the leaf color! We found the home even better than described - fully equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms and comfortable furnishings. The weather cooperated so we were able to utilize the deck and barbecue during our stay. We did have a small problem with the washing machine not working. I contacted Kay and it was replaced with a new washer overnight. Amazing customer service and support!

This home is so close to so many interesting and fun places to visit - don't miss Owls Head Lighthouse and the Farnsworth Museum. We also appreciated the proximity to groceries and excellent restaurants. When our travels take us back to Maine we will look forward to another stay!

Perfect Setting for Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

If you're planning a trip to Maine and are looking for a beautifully kept home in an ideal location that is off the busy tourist path, yet close enough to enjoy good restaurants and many sights and activities, this is the home for you. It's obvious that the owner takes pride in providing a clean, well stocked home, complete with all the information that you may need to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The house is nicely designed to take in the beautiful waterfront views, especially from the spacious upstairs bedroom/lounge area. Furnishings, linens, kitchen supplies and outdoor furniture are all among the best that we've seen in a vacation rental. The neighborhood is quiet (and the house is on a dead end street), yet an easy drive to the beautiful towns of Rockland and Camden, and even close enough to Acadia National Park for an enjoyable day trip. The property itself is lovely, with a well-maintained outdoor area, including beautiful potted plants and a great deck for enjoying the view or just reading and relaxing. The owner is easy to contact and very responsive to any questions or needs. This was definitely a "would rent again" experience.
