About this property

Little South - Two Cabins, One Remarkable Stretch of River. Sleeps 12

Two cabins • 4+ wooded acres • Sleeps 12 • Riverfront

Escape to your own peaceful corner of Northern Michigan with two cabins tucked into more than four wooded acres along the Little South Branch of the Pere Marquette River.

This isn't a crowded resort or a cabin surrounded by neighbors. It's a place to slow down, spread out, and enjoy the woods and water together. Follow the trails through the property, sit beside the river with your morning coffee, spend the afternoon fishing or exploring, gather around the fire in the evening, and fall asleep to the quiet of the forest.

With two separate cabins, this property is especially well suited for families, multiple couples, grandparents traveling with kids, fishing groups, or friends who want to vacation together without everyone being packed into one house.

The River Cabin

The original River Cabin is the heart of the property—a classic Northern Michigan cabin with plenty of character and a cozy, comfortable feel.

Inside you'll find two bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen, living and dining space, and a fireplace for cooler Michigan evenings.

One of our favorite spaces is the screened porch overlooking the river. It's the kind of place where morning coffee turns into another cup because nobody is in a hurry to leave.

Both River Cabin bedrooms have window air-conditioning units for warmer summer nights, and the cabin is heated for cooler stays.

Step outside and you're surrounded by woods, trails and the river.

The Trail Cabin

A short walk from the River Cabin is our separate Trail Cabin, giving your group something that's hard to find in a typical vacation rental: a second private living and sleeping space.

The Trail Cabin has its own sleeping area, bathroom with shower, kitchenette, heating and air conditioning.

It's perfect for another couple, grandparents, older kids, or anyone in the group who appreciates having a little space of their own while still being part of the same vacation.

Together, the two cabins provide three sleeping areas and two full bathrooms, making mornings much easier when you're traveling with a group.

Current sleeping arrangements include two queen beds, two full beds, two twin beds and a futon.

More than four acres to yourselves

Part of what makes this property special is simply the amount of room around you.

The cabins sit on approximately 4.3 wooded acres with around 464 feet of river frontage and trails winding through the property and along the water. Beyond the property, thousands of acres of public land add to the feeling that you've escaped into the woods.

Walk the trails.

Find a quiet spot by the river.

Read on the screened porch.

Let the kids explore.

Sit around the fire after dark.

Or do absolutely nothing.

There's enough space here that everyone can find their own corner during the day and come back together in the evening.

Right on the Little South Branch of the Pere Marquette

The river isn't something you drive to—it's part of the property.

The Little South Branch of the Pere Marquette runs along the land, creating a beautiful backdrop whether you're here to fish or simply want to be near the water.

The Baldwin area is known for fishing and outdoor recreation, and other top-rated river properties in the area consistently draw guests specifically for the combination of river access, woods, privacy and year-round recreation.

Bring your fishing gear, hiking boots, ORV gear, or simply a book you've been meaning to finish.

A real Northern Michigan cabin experience

We're intentionally keeping the character that makes this place special.

This isn't a newly constructed luxury home pretending to be a cabin. The River Cabin dates to the 1950s and has the warmth and personality you'd expect from a genuine Up North retreat, while the separate Trail Cabin gives your group additional comfort and privacy.

You'll have the conveniences you need without losing the reason you came here in the first place:

the river, the woods, the quiet, and time together.

Whether you're planning a family getaway, fishing weekend, couples trip, outdoor adventure, or just a few peaceful days away from everything, we'd love for you to make this little stretch of the Pere Marquette your home while you're here.

Come for the river. Stay for the quiet.
