We're high on the hill on Lake Trail Road and close to Comox Lake and all the wilderness around it. Follow it far enough and Lake Trail will take you all the way to Port Alberni on the west coast (4 wheel only). Along the shores of the lake you can access great mountain biking trails, walk in the Comox Lake Bluffs Ecological Reserve or drive to the trail head for a hike to the Comox Glacier.
Wilderness at our doorstep yet we're just 5 minutes from down-town Courtenay
We custom built this guest house with privacy in mind. Your own driveway, your own suite, your own yard. Peaceful rural surroundings yet so close to town. Room in the yard to play with the kids but just minutes from beaches and water parks in town.
This guest house was beautifully set up. It was comfortable ,peaceful , and well taken care of and clean as a whistle and very new ,the perfect location to retreat to after a day of island adventure. Molly and Chris paid a great deal of attention to details such as breakfast waiting for our first morning. A well set up kitchen, they had games for the grandchildren and set up a play pen for the 8 month old baby. They made us feel special. With flowers from the yard. Molly let me try my first fig. Chris made us weiner sticks when we went to a weiner roast on the beach. Incredible stay !! I will be recommending this guest house to all friends and family. I visit from Saskatchewan at least once a year. I feel very blessed to have found this piece of paradise. Hope to return again.
Wow! A true 5 star home! The Copper Fern Guest House was such a wonderful place for our family, including two young children. Everything you could need and more was found in this well appointed home. Upon arrival, the home was in immaculate condition and the goodies left for breakfast were a wonderful addition. The yard was absolutely beautiful with such stunning gardens! The hosts, Molly and Chris, are so welcoming and warm and available if you ever have any questions. We look forward to staying here again on our annual trip out to Vancouver Island.
This is a one bedroom apartment that is spacious, clean, well equipped and private. We very much enjoyed our stay, in particular the thoughtfulness, attention to detail and overall experience of hospitality. The welcoming goodies and starter breakfast were very appreciated. This is an excellent vacation rental, and a great base for a vacation in the Comox valley. I highly recommend staying here.
Welcoming, quiet, comfortable and very clean.
Lovely personal touches. ( fresh flowers, soft cotton sheets, nice soaps, house coats and yummy home made breakfast ingredients!)
We really enjoyed our stay. We will return and recommend to our family and friends.
Located in a quiet neighbourhood far away from the busy parts of town but close enough to access grocery stores, restaurants, and even the farmer's market. Upon entering the home we knew that we wouldn't want to leave at all because it was clean, cozy and comfortable. The layout was exactly as described in the description and more (ie. aeropress coffee maker, netflix, and a small library of novels). We particularly enjoyed the treats that the Hilliar's prepared for us. It was just the right amount and it made us feel right at home!
We stayed at the copper Fern guest house while we were attending a wedding recently. We will definitely come and stay again every little tiny thing was thought of by Molly and Chris. Anytime we thought about something we might need we looked around and there was! The futon beds are so comfortable I had my best sleep in years
Thank you Chris and Molly!
The Comox Valley encompasses the three communities of Courtenay, Comox, and Cumberland, each carved from the natural beauty of the surrounding forest and farmland. The area is renowned for its outdoor recreation opportunities which is maybe best exemplified every spring by the Annual Snow to Surf Race featuring snow shoeing, alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, running, mountain biking, kayaking, road biking, and canoeing. We have it all in the Comox Valley.
In addition to outdoor pursuits, the Comox Valley boasts world-class restaurants. Their mouth-watering fare is often locally produced from the myriad farms in the area.
The Comox Valley is one of the largest agricultural areas on Vancouver Island. Our Farmer’s Markets are held every week throughout the year – usually on Saturday mornings – and there is always great food and great music.
Music is another year-long attraction in the Comox Valley available at small venues like “The Waverley” and the 'Cumberland Hotel' in Cumberland, the 'Little Red Church' in Comox to three day long events like the Vancouver Island Music Fest held every July in Courtenay.
