Amazing Property. Great for multi-family groups.
Awesome property. Enough room for everyone. Kitchen was perfect size which allowed for multiple people to work together preparing meals. Double kitchen table and chairs, so all of us could eat and play board games together! Great location that was quiet and safe, yet close enough to Yellowstone Park. Owner was awesome. I received a "welcome" phone call while we were on our way, which was totally unexpected. One person in our group said this was his "dream house". Enjoyed by all. I would definitely recommend.
Family time at Yellowstone
The property was as described, the house large. Hauling garbage to the dump and having to pay per bag was inconvenient. There were no chairs for sitting outside, even though there was a fire pit. The beds were comfortable and plenty of towels for our large group.
The cabin accommodated our large family very nicely. The 3 bathrooms were very nice to have. We Enjoyed the close proximity to West Yellowstone, Yellowstone and Island Park. We appreciated coming to a clean cabin that had been represented well in the ads.
Beautiful, large cabin, fantastic Henry's Lake location! Perfect for snowmobilers.
We have stayed in more than at several vacation rental locations across the world and this one is great. Here is our perspective on it:
*Great for large groups. We had 18 total from three related families, it worked great for our group! There are 2 enclosed bedrooms with the other beds in open areas, plenty of good sleeping/activity space.
* It is well heated, and yes you will care in the winter.
* Good owner/manager communication.
* Location is excellent, centrally located between West Yellowstone and Island Park Village, overlooks Hwy 20 at Red Rock Rd; beautiful view looking east across the valley.
* Parking a couple minutes walk from cabin (at least in winter).
* No Wi-fi (which is disclosed), also not very close to a cafe with wi-fi.
* Be sure to bring your own shampoo, bar soap, other toiletries, blow dryer,etc., although plenty of liquid handsoap provided.
We were a family of 8 adults and 8 kids. It worked great to put the kids in the basement. So, sleeping and eating was the right fit for us. We had never been to the area, so some things were different to us.
The trash to the dump daily didn't work, as the dump was closed Wed and Thur. We generated 2 bags a day and were trying to pack as much site seeing as possible into each day. We left early and returned late each day ( the dump would be closed). The dump was closer to 10 miles away not the 4 listed, so more time. With animals outside, we had to store the trash inside.
Yellowstone National Park is only 20 minutes away. Fun places to go see are Upper and Lower Mesa Falls, Big Springs Fish Hatchery, Quake Lake, Sawtelle Mountain, Johnny Sacks Cabin, Henry's Lake, Island Park Reservoir, Yellowstone National Park. Ride your ATV or Snowmobile all over hundreds of miles of groomed trails, one of which is located right near the cabin. Rodeos take place in the summer and there is also horseback riding available. Winter and summer activities in West Yellowstone town including things like dog sledding races, snowmobile races, etc. Coach rides into the Yellowstone National Park in winter and summer. Or you can drive yourself in during the summer.
