Great home for three generations!

  • 5 of 5

The log home was so pretty and there were comfortable beds for all 14 of us. The 6 grandchildren enjoyed their basement beds for "spend-the-nights" and the comfortably furnished area dedicated to games/TV. The 4 adult couples had separate sleeping quarters upstairs and had night hours (only time we were there) of easy conversation in the main living area while the kids played below. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, pots, pans and dishes. We ate breakfast and prepared picnic lunches there and ate out most nights.

It was nice being away from the bustle of West Yellowstone though we did eat there a few times. There were good restaurants in Island Park and Grand Papa had easy access to his favorite fishing spots on Henry's Fork of the Snake.

We all enjoyed a good meal and laughs at Mack's Inn Playhouse, a meal at the Mexican restaurant there and a return trip for swimming and playing in that frigid water.

Local ATV rental and horseback riding, and rafting on the Yellowstone River in Gardiner, were enjoyed by all participants (age 5 to 70). Of course, riding/hiking in one of the country's best ideas, Yellowstone Park, spotting animals, peering into mud pots, marveling at the colorful basins, fumaroles and geysers left us with lasting memories of America, the Beautiful!

2017 Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The house was in a great location. Accurate description and then some. Had a great time in this home for our whole family of 14 for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Spacious and great kitchen. House was clean and well equipped and stocked. Being from Texas went looking for AC but there was none, which was not a problem as there are plenty of windows and a great breeze. Definitely recommend!!!

the perfect place for a family getaway to Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

We found Landon Lodge on VRBO and it looked like the perfect fit for our family reunion. There were enough beds and to spare for our group of 13, and two living areas gave the cousins in the basement their own space. Most of the beds are in open areas (the upstairs floor is basically one big loft plus a bedroom), and there is a large bedroom on the main floor for anyone who would like to avoid using stairs much. There's a bathroom on each of the 3 floors. We found the kitchen well-stocked and took advantage of the crock pot provided so that we had dinner waiting for us after exploring Yellowstone all day. It's a beautiful home in a quiet location even though it's easy to find just off a main road. In fact, there was a mama moose with her baby in the yard next door when we first drove up to Landon Lodge! We loved our stay and would definitely go back to Landon Lodge again.
