About Cheryl and Jim Whalen

Jim grew up in Delaware and I'm from New Jersey. We currently live in PA with our 2 active boys. We took the plunge to invest in this property because it's a fantastic location, has plenty of amenities and lots of diverse activities (nature hikes, fishing, playing at the beach, tennis, pool, shopping, golf, etc.). For our family, we knew that it would be the perfect get away

from our busy life at home.

Cheryl and Jim Whalen purchased this condo in 2013

Why Cheryl and Jim Whalen chose Lewes

We have always loved spending quality time as a family at the beach. Jim grew up vacationing each year at the Delaware beaches. We were first introduced to the Villages at Five Points by our good friends who bought one of the single family homes. We were impressed with the community and how much it has to offer, 2 pools, tennis courts, a clubhouse, restaurants, etc. as well as a friendly, relaxing neighborhood.

When we had an opportunity to invest in a property, we looked at other condominiums but kept coming back to the Villages at Five Points, where we felt at home. Before making the investment, we spent some long weekends in the area and loved the diversity it had to offer. We could visit historic downtown Lewes, take a nature hike at Cape Henelopen State Park, go to Dewey Beach or visit the Rehoboth boardwalk at night with the kids. This year we went down in December and saw the Lewes Christmas parade and visited Santa Claus on the boardwalk. The area has so much to offer, festivals, movies on the beach, Seawitch at Halloween, etc. One of the main conveniences is that our condo is located East of Rt. 1, which is convenient because you don't have to get on the main highway to get to downtown Lewes, the Cape May - Lewes Ferry or Cape Henelopen unless you want to visit other beaches or the Rehoboth boardwalk. Lewes is a pretty, historic town with restaurants, fishing and museums. The people from Lewes are always friendly and make you feel welcome. This property is truly special because it offers so many activities yet it's very peaceful and not overcrowded.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is quiet since it's located on the top floor; it offers a beautiful view of the pond from our screened in porch. We supply all the comforts of home: utensils, linens, towels, beach chairs, coffee pot, toaster, blender, etc. Our guests can take advantage of our full kitchen for meals or venture out to plenty of great restaurants in the area. Our unit is freshly painted and

new ceiling fans have been placed in the bedrooms as well as

the den. We just recently purchased a new pull-out sofa with an upgraded mattress and a pull-out twin chair, so we can sleep 7. We take pride in our condo and keep it clean and make our guests feel as comfortable as possible. Personal touches have been added such as some board games, books and movies for our guests' convenience. The master bedroom and den both have DVD/VCRs and we also provide movies. We hope you visit us and take the long, relaxing vacation that you deserve and have been looking forward to all winter. You won't be disappointed!

This condo is the perfect solution for our family of 4. There's plenty of room for all of us. The condo is comfortable and well maintained. It is located close to lewes Beach and cape henelopen, so we can experience both the bay and ocean. We are looking forward to making our vacations here a yearly tradition!

Clean, family friendly, great location and amenities

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay for our family vacation! We had our toddler with us and it was great for her to be able to enjoy a 'home away from home'. We especially loved the balcony with the view of the beautiful pond and fountain. An added bonus, the balcony is completely screened in so we were able to open the doors on cool mornings and evenings and our little one could wander in and out. The location was perfect for beach time, a trip to Cape May on the ferry, and a few trips to Rehoboth to the boardwalk. The community itself is quiet, friendly, and had many added perks such as the pool, restaurants, and a playground, all within walking distance. Cheryl answered all of our questions very quickly and thoroughly. We also appreciated the provided sheets, towels, beach chairs, and ability to do laundry. When packing for a little one it allowed us to cut down on the amount of clothes we needed. Thank you for a great stay! Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation!

Four of us stayed 6 nights. This condo is in a nice quiet community about 3 miles from Lewes, beach and ferry to Cape May. Condo owners are quick to respond and easy to work with. We had bikes and there are good shoulders on road for biking and many off the road paths (soft gravel and paved) all the way to outlets, Roehobeth and Henlopen State Park. There are bike racks all over the place and at Five Points Village (condo location). In addition, there are beach chairs for the beach! Big perk! Condo is clean, comfortable and everything you need to cook meals. Thanks for sharing your place!!!! We loved it!

Great stay in quiet location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay! Cheryl was very attentive and helpful! The place was clean and had the items we needed. Location was good. Not in town though so don't look at map when determining your stay. However it's about 1-2 miles away from the town of Lewes. Convenient to stores and restaurants in the community, though.
