About Cheryl and Jim Whalen

Jim grew up in Delaware and I'm from New Jersey. We currently live in PA with our 2 active boys. We took the plunge to invest in this property because it's a fantastic location, has plenty of amenities and lots of diverse activities (nature hikes, fishing, playing at the beach, tennis, pool, shopping, golf, etc.). For our family, we knew that it would be the perfect get away

from our busy life at home.

Cheryl and Jim Whalen purchased this condo in 2013

Why Cheryl and Jim Whalen chose Lewes

We have always loved spending quality time as a family at the beach. Jim grew up vacationing each year at the Delaware beaches. We were first introduced to the Villages at Five Points by our good friends who bought one of the single family homes. We were impressed with the community and how much it has to offer, 2 pools, tennis courts, a clubhouse, restaurants, etc. as well as a friendly, relaxing neighborhood.

When we had an opportunity to invest in a property, we looked at other condominiums but kept coming back to the Villages at Five Points, where we felt at home. Before making the investment, we spent some long weekends in the area and loved the diversity it had to offer. We could visit historic downtown Lewes, take a nature hike at Cape Henelopen State Park, go to Dewey Beach or visit the Rehoboth boardwalk at night with the kids. This year we went down in December and saw the Lewes Christmas parade and visited Santa Claus on the boardwalk. The area has so much to offer, festivals, movies on the beach, Seawitch at Halloween, etc. One of the main conveniences is that our condo is located East of Rt. 1, which is convenient because you don't have to get on the main highway to get to downtown Lewes, the Cape May - Lewes Ferry or Cape Henelopen unless you want to visit other beaches or the Rehoboth boardwalk. Lewes is a pretty, historic town with restaurants, fishing and museums. The people from Lewes are always friendly and make you feel welcome. This property is truly special because it offers so many activities yet it's very peaceful and not overcrowded.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is quiet since it's located on the top floor; it offers a beautiful view of the pond from our screened in porch. We supply all the comforts of home: utensils, linens, towels, beach chairs, coffee pot, toaster, blender, etc. Our guests can take advantage of our full kitchen for meals or venture out to plenty of great restaurants in the area. Our unit is freshly painted and

new ceiling fans have been placed in the bedrooms as well as

the den. We just recently purchased a new pull-out sofa with an upgraded mattress and a pull-out twin chair, so we can sleep 7. We take pride in our condo and keep it clean and make our guests feel as comfortable as possible. Personal touches have been added such as some board games, books and movies for our guests' convenience. The master bedroom and den both have DVD/VCRs and we also provide movies. We hope you visit us and take the long, relaxing vacation that you deserve and have been looking forward to all winter. You won't be disappointed!

Pleasant and quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

This condo is conveniently located. We were able to walk to local shops (restaurants, spas), and pool. It is also close to downtown Lewes and the beaches. We enjoyed our mornings on the porch overlooking the pond and seeing the different kinds of birds. This condo is clean and well-furnished. It has all of the amenities of a home!

Wonderful Vacation Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our combined families (my husband and I, retired, and a couple with three children) spent a week at this condo in Lewes. First, the condo itself is lovely with tasteful furnishings and well stocked, quality kitchenware, bath and bedroom furnishings. The owners were so nice and accommodating. The children enjoyed the large swimming pool with full time lifeguards. My husband and I enjoyed walking in the quiet, quaint community with cafes, salon, bar and grill, etc right within the condo community. We took a day trip on the Lewes - Cape May ferry with a trip to the zoo included. We also enjoyed the trips to Rehoboth Beach nearby and Ocean City Beach a short drive away. I definitely recommend this location and this vacation rental condo. A big five stars. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Wonderful vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

We came to Lewes for a family vacation, and were incredibly happy with our stay here. The condo is clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect with close access to beaches, restaurants, and parks. The condo is located in a safe, well kept family friendly community, with walking paths that we enjoyed nightly. We have 2 small children who loved the playground located nearby. Having a fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer unit right inside the condo was super convenient for our family. As a bonus, the second bedroom faces West so our little ones were not up with the sun every morning! The owners were very friendly and it is obvious they take pride in the upkeep of their condo. We would definitely stay here again!

Clean and Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently rented this property for a long weekend. The location is excellent - close to highways yet quiet community; you can walk to breakfast and dinner without having to get in your car! If you want easy access to Lewes and Rehobeth, this is a terrific spot.

Although there were only two of us, the spacious two bedroom would still have been ample for more people. The screened in balcony right off the living room is very nice and overlooks the pond.

The owners were terrific to work with and very responsive. It is obvious they take great care in keeping the property well maintained and are willing to work with guests.

I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future :)

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our stay in Lewes. We came to town for a lacrosse tournament and a vacation. The condo was close to everything. It was clean and had a well equiped kitchen. The community was great and the owners were very nice and accomodating. Will definitely stay there again next year.

owners are very accommodating!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five had a great time in Lewes! The owners of this condo were very accommodating and the condo was clean. I wasn't sure about renting a 3rd floor condo with three small children but they did fine. The kids enjoyed the playground, bike trails, and pool. It was very quiet and relaxing. It was a short drive to Cape Henlopen State Park and Rehobeth Beach. This was our first visit to Lewes and we can't wait to go back!!!
