Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 1.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

The First Street Guesthouse is a unique blend of old and new. Starting with an historic, log cabin that was part of Crested Butte's original Creamery, the home has been architecturally enhanced, with the main part completely new. During construction and renovation, the use of non-toxic, natural building components has earned the home many prestigious awards.

Located just steps from Elk Avenue, (Crested Butte's historic main street). The First Street Guesthouse sits tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. The downstairs opens onto a large entry area and three bedrooms, two with queen-size beds and access to exterior patios. The third bedroom has a twin/trundle bed. All boast cozy goosedown comforters. The large bathroom on this level offers a sumptuous, deep, Japanese, jetted, soak tub and oversize marble steam shower. Nearby is a handy washer and dryer.

The upper level, with it's breathtaking views of mountains in all directions, has a gourmet kitchen with soapstone counter tops and stainless appliances. It flows openly into an eating/gathering bar, dining and living areas, all surrounded by vaulted ceilings. Also on this level are a one-half bath and cozy den with futon for overflow sleeping space.

Outside, there is a lovely, fully-fenced and gated yard ideal for children and even a canine friend. Inside and out, the home is meticulously maintained and offers more than just a homey, comfortable vacation setting. Its owners, 15 year residents of Crested Butte, work hard to ensure its guests a most memorable stay.

Elk Avenue's shops and restaurants are close by. The town's free mountain bus shuttle is little more then a block away. Hiking and Nordic trails are even closer! Because of First Street Guesthouse's ideal location, a car is not required; everything is within easy walking distance, regardless of the season.

We will consider well trained dogs. Please ask us about our dog policy and fees.

We just added High Speed internet for your convenience.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I love this home and my family and I return each year to rent this house We love the location to the restaurants and the shuttle to the ski area. The house is very clean and the kitchen is great to cook in. In the summer we can get on the trails just out the door. Our dog loves Peanut lake which is close by. We will be back!

nice house near all the Elk Ave fun

  • 4 of 5

Excellent living space on 2nd floor which provides nice view of the Butte and more light. Good bedrooms with nice bedding. Worked well for our family of 6 plus 2 dogs (albeit they would prefer a house with a yard!).

loved this cozy house

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five (3 young children) really enjoyed this cozy house right off of 1st & Elk Ave for Thanksgiving. All our people were very happy - lots of room to relax and plenty of bedroom options for my people. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner for our friends - great kitchen with tons of counter space and seating - all 10 of us had a great meal. We loved walking around the corner to the coffee shop, Stash Pizza, Bonez, and the ski hill is only a 10 minute drive. Even though there wasn't a ton of snow this year, our girls got in 3 half days of skiing - perfect! thanks Elizabeth.

First Street Guesthouse is a Charmer!

  • 5 of 5

The First Street Guesthouse is in a great location off of Elk Avenue and an easy walk to all kinds

of restaurants and shops. We loved the easy access to town and hiking trails while being quiet and peaceful at night. (Nice trail you can walk to up above the Nordic Center)

Elizabeth was a great communicator from start to finish. The historic home is beautifully designed with

lots of light, lovely views, and special unique touches. With the Jennair Stove and well stocked kitchen,

it would be fun and easy to cook a holiday meal for a group. Be sure to try the Japanese Soaking Tub and Steam Shower, what a treat. We found the Guesthouse to be the ideal place for both great fun and relaxing recharge in Crested Butte. Thank you Elizabeth. We hope to be back.

Great location! Wonderful charm and updated decor! Great mountain livin'!

  • 5 of 5

Crested Butte is that quintessential mountain town that is lost somewhere in Colorado's charming past. This home has everything of that and so much more. Historic cabin feel with all the updates. The kitchen was well equipped with a great gas modern stovetop. But who wants to cook when there are such terrific restaurants just around the corner and down the main street on Elk. So very quiet yet close to everything! Especially loved the outdoor fenced-in patio with the 3 bedrooms and bath on the ground floor. (The full bath had a soaker tub AND a steam shower that would be so appreciated in winter.) The open space living on the upper level was perfect for hanging out with family and friends; small 1/2 bath close by so the little one's didn't have to go up and down the stairs all the time. The side TV area/office kept the grandkids entertained when we weren't enjoying all that CB has to offer. A perfect place for 6 adults...even better, 4 adults, 2 kids! We'll be back but I bet this place gets rented most all the time!
