About Bonita Jones
We are retired and enjoy traveling and spending time with family. We've enjoyed remodeling this home and furnishing it for your pleasure. And now, after being out of the vacation rental market for almost two years, we are happy to open Granny Branch to the public.
Bonita Jones purchased this Farmhouse in 2013
Why Bonita Jones chose Mount Rogers National Recreation Area
I've loved this house since before we bought our house in this community. It is just down the street from where we live and is a piece of history in itself, being at least a century old. Living in the Camp community is like stepping back 50 years. Life is slower paced. People are friendly and neighborly.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
This home sits nestled near the Jefferson National Forest, a very quiet, peaceful rural area. Relaxing on one of the porches in the mountain breeze, or having breakfast outside are real treats. Come check out a slice of country living for yourself!

Cozy and quaint, great place to disconnect
We had a great stay! The house is cozy and was very clean. Kitchen stocked with everything we needed for family meals. Only downside was the WiFi which was inconsistent for us. Weak to no signal all week. We also didn’t have cell service in the valley, so were forced to be unplugged most of the week. The owners brought us a land line for emergencies but be aware that Verizon (our cell carrier) didn’t work for us at the house. We loved the horses next door and the scenic drive into Marion. Easy to get to Hungry Mother for trail hikes.
We enjoyed our stay at the Granny Branch Inn. Nice furnishings, comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen with 2 coffee makers which was really nice as we elected to use the Keurig. What was also nice was laundry detergent being available as well as paper towels and toilet paper. There was a view of horses from the laundry room window as well as the sun room. My husband enjoyed sitting in the sun room to read. Plenty of TV channels to watch and internet, although slow was better than not having it, as we used it to look up places to go after we were kind of rained in and couldn't ride the trike in the mountains. Interesting trip for my husband as he rode his trike to the mountains and encountered calves in the road and then Saturday night, we went to Marian to have dinner and encountered what had to be someone's pet pig who took his sweet time getting out of the road. We enjoyed our trips to Wytheville and Galax and visited just about every antique shop we came across in Marian, Wytheville & Galax. Highly recommend the Log House in Wytheville for lunch. We got to the Wolf BBQ restaurant in Marian too late in the evening to get ribs, but what we had was good. I would not recommend the hot dog restaurant on Main Street in Wytheville. We also ate lunch at Shatley Springs and it was really good with good service. We ordered from the menu instead of getting the family style as that was way too much food. Again, everyone we came across there was very friendly and helpful. The little shops there were interesting. The scenery was gorgeous everywhere we went with lots of different kinds of livestock and Christmas trees. People were friendly and I even met someone from where we live and we were at least 4 hours from home. We even made friends with a sweet little Corgi looking dog that I kept threatening to bring home. Don't know who he belonged to, but he was very well behaved and loved having his ears and belly rubbed. Peaceful and quiet place with plenty of room to spread out. Oh and the brownies were delicious.

we all thoroughly enjoyed staying in your home, it was very relaxing and had everything we needed.
We all loved The home. It was clean, and had everything we needed for a long weekend. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evenings, and on the back porch for morning coffee. The scenery to and from our event at hungry mother state park was Beautiful and very much worth the drive.if we are ever in the area In the future and need a place to stay we would much rather stay in your quaint little farmhouse as opposed to a stuffy hotel room. P.S. We all loved the brownies. Thanks for the experience.
We enjoyed our stay and the peacefulness of the area. Everyone was so friendly. The brownies were delicious. We did feel the house could have been cleaner but our overall experience was a good one.
We enjoyed meeting and chatting with you, and we're happy that you enjoyed your stay! We apologize that you encountered an issue with the house. If we had known, we would have certainly addressed it to your satisfaction. We hope you will return again soon!
