Imagine finally getting away from the city and coming into town, suitcase in hand, stressed out from your city life and opening the door to your own private hideaway.

The cabin is warm, wine is chilling in the fridge, lights are dimmed, and the hot tub is waiting right outside your door. Storm Haven will whisk you away from the storms of your everyday life and ease you into your own perfect 'beach time.'

Storm Haven is the most recent addition to Moss Landing Cabins, all of which are listed right here with VRBO, and it has been available since mid-July 2014. The size and layout mirror our other 'couples cabin', Captain's Quarters, so if you've stayed there, you have an idea of the luxury and beauty awaiting you in Storm Haven.

The hot tub is right outside your door, and it is shared with Captain's Quarters. Your cabin gets the 'odd hours' and the other cabin has the 'even' hours. Of course, if no one is in the other cabin, you get the hot tub whenever you want it!

If your party is a little larger, you may want to look at Ship's Quarters (307966).

While Captain's Quarters has the deep, striking color of burgandy along with the wood interior and a bit of a stronger masculine feel, (it IS 'Captain's' Quarters - right!?) Storm Haven was done in ocean blues and soft, relaxing colors, making you breathe out a sigh of contentment when you walk in the door.

Cuddle up on the queen size bed tucked into the alcove, make full use of the kitchen to enjoy long drawn-out breakfasts, snuggle up under blankets on the chaise sleeper sofa and watch movies or just listen to music and sip wine with your favorite person.

So if you're looking for a nice, relaxing getaway and Captain's Quarters is already taken, never fear, there's still another cabin for you! Like all our cabins, Storm Haven is pet friendly.

When it's time to venture out, the beach is only a 5-minute walk away, and when you come home, you can toss a steak on the outdoor grill or build a fire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. Whatever your vacation entails, Storm Haven will be there waiting to welcome you back home at the end of the day.

We allow 1 larger dog or 2 small dogs (under 20#) with $15 pet fee. Dogs must not be allowed to disturb other guests with a lot of barking. All dogs bark occasionally and we understand that, but if your dog is a constant barker this isn't the best place to bring it.

IMP'T: Be sure to call before you book to see what specials or discounts are available.

Note: You mush be 25 to rent this cabin. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Note: Major weekends have a 3-night minimum.

Note: This is a non-smoking cabin.

We are also GLBT friendly.

About Sonja Moss

Tom grew up in southern California, and he always loved the ocean. At 17, he went into the Coast Guard and worked in Alaska for many years before relocating to Las Vegas, and I actually met him in Las Vegas in 1994. He was working in Land Development and as I was to learn in the coming years, he was very good at anything that had to do with construction and development.

I grew up in the northern panhandle of West Virginia as a 'construction brat', moving around Virginia and West Virginia, wherever my Dad's construction work took him. When I was about 14, I found a picture of a log cabin and I just fell in love with it. I taped it to the cover of a steno pad and carried it with me for years. It was my dream.

West Virginia was beautiful, but I had wanderlust and wasn't content to stay there, and so I started slowly working my way west. Then I met Tom, and our loves and dreams started to mesh.

Moss Landing is the culmination of his love of the ocean and my lifetime longing for a log cabin. This is our last cabin (I think!) and we've turned our dream into a dream that can be shared. We want you to come and stay and enjoy the dream for awhile.

Sonja Moss purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Sonja Moss chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

While we were living in Las Vegas, a friend of Tom's told us about this cute little beach town in Washington that was doing some national advertising to develop and sell lots. Being the adventurous people we are, we jumped on a plane and came up to look. We finally found the perfect lot, close to the beach but away from the crowds, just brimming with possibility and overflowing with wildlife. It was a nice change from the wildlife of the desert - tarantulas, scorpions and crows!

We fell in love with the area and the beach. Our perfect lot happened to be a commercial lot, and so the dream of vacation cabins was born. Now we live in Ocean Shores and manage our own cabins, and we couldn't be happier.

What makes this cabin unique

Being able to open the door or sit in the hot tub and listen to the waves rolling in on the beach makes you feel like you are part of the world, not just looking out the window at it. At night, when the stars are out, it is magnificent. We're far enough away from downtown that the light doesn't interfere with the glory of the skies. When the deer stroll through the yard or you see the streams of geese on their seasonal travels, you just feel grounded here. There is something peaceful and perhaps even healing here. I can't think of a better place to visit or to live.

A Wonderful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Moss Landing is a quiet and quaint place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The comfy cabin atmosphere with all the necessary touches make for it a snug retreat with a carefree enchantment balanced between the sound of the surf and the fun of Ocean Shores. Soak away your cares in the hot tub, stroll the nearby beaches, watch the deer grazing by the edge of the road or rent a motor scooter to explore the town. Last year we enjoyed the Irish Music Festival at the Convention Center in town but this year chose just to relax and snuggle our time away. This will be a annual retreat for us.

Exceptional!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying in a cabin and our expectations were exceeded. Sonja and her husband were readily available to help us with anything and answer any questions we had. We literally had every luxury at our disposal in the cabin. Both beds were extremely comfortable. The showers were always shot and relaxing. The hot tub , barbecue, and fire pit were all fun, clean, and easy to use (we still had tons of help making burgers). The location is beautiful and close to the shore and stores are within 10 minutes. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay!

Most people come to Ocean Shores to relax and get away from busy lives. With miles of beautiful beaches, lots of wildlife, quaint shops to enjoy, Ocean Shores doesn't disappoint. There are lots of little beach towns to explore on day trips, and a great winery to visit on the way out to Westport, which is about an hour away. Down at the marina where we're located, the peacefulness and the sound of the waves and seagulls are what brings our guests back time and time again.

Whether it is raining or the sun is out, Moss Landing provides elegant, comfortable surroundings to rest, relax, renew, and just enjoy time at the beach.

Notes:
We love having guests at Moss Landing, and while we always provide a nice bottle of wine to kick off your vacation, don't be surprised if we knock on your door with fresh, hot cookies or invite you out to enjoy a campfire with us and possibly your neighbors from other cabins. If you have an event and need someone to shoot a few photos for you, we can handle that. While we're not professional photographers, we've taken pictures for beach weddings, family gatherings, etc. Be sure you're not the only one left out of the family vacation photos because you're always behind the lens!
