Storm Haven - Elegant Cabin Especially for Couples

Bedrooms Studio
Space 320 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

WiFi, Hot Tub, Fire Pit, BBQ, Horseshoes - Great Escape for Two!

Storm Haven is a beautiful couple's cabin that allows adult pets, one larger dog or 2 smaller (under 20# each) with the $15 pet fee. Please make sure to mention the size and number of pets when you make your reservation.

Imagine finally getting away from the city and coming into town, suitcase in hand, stressed out from your city life and opening the door to your own private hideaway.

The cabin is warm, lights are dimmed, and the hot tub is waiting right outside your door. Storm Haven will whisk you away from the storms of your everyday life and ease you into your own perfect 'beach time.'

The hot tub is right outside your door, and it is shared with our other couples cabin, Captain's Quarters. Your cabin gets the 'odd hours' and the other cabin has the 'even' hours. Of course, if no one is in the other cabin, you get the hot tub whenever you want it!

If your party is a little larger, you may want to look at Ship's Quarters (307966).

Cuddle up on the queen size bed tucked into the alcove, make full use of the kitchen to enjoy long drawn-out breakfasts, snuggle up under blankets on the chaise sleeper sofa and watch movies or just listen to music and sip wine with your favorite person.

So if you're looking for a nice, relaxing getaway and Captain's Quarters is already taken, never fear, there's still another cabin for you!

When it's time to venture out, the beach is only a 5-minute walk away, and when you come home, you can toss a steak on the outdoor grill or build a fire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. Whatever your vacation entails, Storm Haven will be there waiting to welcome you back home at the end of the day.

If you bring pets: Dogs must not be allowed to disturb other guests with a lot of barking. All dogs bark occasionally and we understand that, but if your dog is a constant barker this isn't the best place to bring it.

Note: You mush be 25 to rent this cabin. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Note: Major holiday weekends have a 3-night minimum.

Note: This is a non-smoking cabin.

We are also GLBT friendly.

About Sonja Moss

Tom grew up in southern California, and he always loved the ocean. At 17, he went into the Coast Guard and worked in Alaska for many years before relocating to Las Vegas, and I actually met him in Las Vegas in 1994. He was working in Land Development and as I was to learn in the coming years, he was very good at anything that had to do with construction and development.

I grew up in the northern panhandle of West Virginia as a 'construction brat', moving around Virginia and West Virginia, wherever my Dad's construction work took him. When I was about 14, I found a picture of a log cabin and I just fell in love with it. I taped it to the cover of a steno pad and carried it with me for years. It was my dream.

West Virginia was beautiful, but I had wanderlust and wasn't content to stay there, and so I started slowly working my way west. Then I met Tom, and our loves and dreams started to mesh.

Moss Landing is the culmination of his love of the ocean and my lifetime longing for a log cabin. This is our last cabin (I think!) and we've turned our dream into a dream that can be shared. We want you to come and stay and enjoy the dream for awhile.

Sonja Moss purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Sonja Moss chose Olympic Peninsula & Pacific Coast

While we were living in Las Vegas, a friend of Tom's told us about this cute little beach town in Washington that was doing some national advertising to develop and sell lots. Being the adventurous people we are, we jumped on a plane and came up to look. We finally found the perfect lot, close to the beach but away from the crowds, just brimming with possibility and overflowing with wildlife. It was a nice change from the wildlife of the desert - tarantulas, scorpions and crows!

We fell in love with the area and the beach. Our perfect lot happened to be a commercial lot, and so the dream of vacation cabins was born. Now we live in Ocean Shores and manage our own cabins, and we couldn't be happier.

What makes this cabin unique

Being able to open the door or sit in the hot tub and listen to the waves rolling in on the beach makes you feel like you are part of the world, not just looking out the window at it. At night, when the stars are out, it is magnificent. We're far enough away from downtown that the light doesn't interfere with the glory of the skies. When the deer stroll through the yard or you see the streams of geese on their seasonal travels, you just feel grounded here. There is something peaceful and perhaps even healing here. I can't think of a better place to visit or to live.

We love having guests at Moss Landing, and while we always provide a nice bottle of wine to kick off your vacation, don't be surprised if we knock on your door with fresh, hot cookies or invite you out to enjoy a campfire with us and possibly your neighbors from other cabins. If you have an event and need someone to shoot a few photos for you, we can handle that. While we're not professional photographers, we've taken pictures for beach weddings, family gatherings, etc. Be sure you're not the only one left out of the family vacation photos because you're always behind the lens!

Nice Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I go to Ocean Shores every year for my moms birthday. Usually we stay in hotels, but we just had a baby a few months ago, so I thought it would be nicer to have a more secluded and quiet place to stay for my sons sake. The cabin was perfect. I know moving forward we would much prefer staying in these cabins versus a hotel. I wish we could have stayed longer though. The cabins were beautiful, and very clean. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting Ocean Shores. Thank you Sonja for all your help. You were very easy to communicate with and very quick with the responses!

Until next time :)

Just what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

I booked a trip to Ocean Shores for a surprise visit for my husband's birthday. The cabin was perfect. Quaint and cozy, and walking distance to a quiet beach. We enjoyed our coffee in the sunshine in the morning, and had some wine in the hot tub before bed. A great, romantic spot and I would recommend it. Sonja was super polite and easy to talk to. She and her husband took great care of us. We will be back for sure!

A Great Get-Away!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned yesterday from a wonderful two-night stay at Moss Landing's Storm Haven cabin. It was very charming and cozy there and very close to the ocean! With all of the convenience of the required kitchen basics (microwave, etc.), plus extra towels, and a comfy couch, movable TV screen - plus a great hot tub a few steps away - it all made for a delightful stay. The only complaint at all was that the bathroom doesn't have a sink, but we got used to coming out to wash in the kitchen area. The owners are very kind and happy to help with whatever one needs, including recommendations for enjoyable dining and touring experiences. We dined at the Ocean Grill and had breakfast at the Shilo Inn Restaurant and enjoyed those meals very much. The ocean is beautiful, and we also drove up the coast to view the rainforest. We took many pictures and have those, plus many happy memories, to enjoy! Storm Haven is a great little cozy and romantic cabin - glad we stayed there!
