About Janet

Welcome to our new mountain getaway.

Originally from the UK, our family (Janet, Tom and our son John) have lived in the Chicago area for the last 10 years. When we moved to the US, we discovered a love of skiing as a family activity. As our skiing confidence grew in the Midwest mountains, several years ago we decided it was time to try our ski legs on the awe inspiring mountains of the Colorado Rockies. We haven't looked back since. When it comes to our destination of choice for skiing, we just love the Vail Valley. Where Tom and John prefer the vast openness of Vail and the un-groomed Back Bowls, I prefer the smaller resort of Beaver Creek, particularly skiing down Little Brave at Arrowhead and waiting for my boys at the bottom of the slope whilst enjoying the sun, apres ski and music on the patio.

Janet purchased this condo in 2014

Why Janet chose Avon

When looking for a mountain getaway in the Vail Valley, we wanted to be somewhere that had stunning views year round, but was also close to many amenities. Chapel Place in Avon gave us just that.

So, come in and make yourself at home. We hope we've thought of everything you could possibly need, wish for, and even things you didn't realize you needed to make this your perfect mountain getaway destination.

From the appliances in the kitchen, to the forward thinking way of watching your favorite shows via Chromecast on the Master Bedroom's LED TV, we hope we've thought of everything you and your guests could possibly need. There's even a hair dryer in both bathrooms, as I know how frustrating it is when you're having to wait for someone else to finish using the only hair dryer provided!

What makes this condo unique

Set at the back of the property, our condo looks out over the Back Bowls of Vail. Close to downtown Avon with a wide selection of shops, bars and child friendly restaurants, our mountain getaway is a short walk to them all.

The free skier shuttle service also stops less than a minute walk across the parking lot and the gondola to the mountain is less than a 10 minute walk!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in Avon as a central base for our trip to the mountains.

The condo was well appointed with everything you'd expect from a luxury hotel in the comfort of a home. The kitchen had everything you'd need to prepare a meal and a Keurig machine to make your morning coffee!

There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms and spare toiletries.

The restaurants in the area offered a great variety of cuisines, with many offering discounts for the off season.

With easy access onto I70 just minutes away, we were able to easily visit as far west as Glenwood Springs for great white water rafting and east to Idaho Springs for the Gold Mine experience.

Beaver Creek and Vail mountains were open for various outdoor activities, and Nottingham Lake is less than a mile away for water based activities. It was the perfect for our needs.

We look forward to returning in the ski season.

Comfortable apartment, wonderful location perfect ski pad

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is luxurious and located within a complex (many great restaurants), has two well furnished bedrooms and wonderful views. It was a perfect place for our family. There is reserved/covered parking and a grocery store and sports store in walking distance. Virtually all we need was within walking distance. The apartment was clean and it helped with our allergies.

There is a gondola to ski slopes one can walk to. We found driving or catching the bus was more convenient. Beaver Creek slopes had little queues as the crowd stays in Breck or resorts to east. Will definitely be back to Beaver and try and rent this place again.

The management is very responsive. All our queries were responded to in a few minutes. Loved it.

The perfect ski trip!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for our ski trip and Janet (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. I will book this place again in a heartbeat next time I decide to ski at Beaver Creek or Vail. Avon is the perfect little town between both resorts. We just loved the fact that there were so many restaurants to choose from and a grocery store so close to the condo. Thank you, Janet for being such a great host and we hope to visit again soon!

Corona del Mar, CA

Another great stay at this condo!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this condo Dec 15th - 20th and just went back again Jan 26th - 31st. It's a very nice condo in a convenient location. We were able to walk to dinner at Maya (at the Westin), Ticino's and Vin 48 - we also drove to Vail one night for dinner at Montauk Seafood Grill in Lionshead Village (only about 15 min away by car). We skied at Beaver Creek 4 days and did one day at Vail. To get up on the mountain at Beaver Creek we walked down the (inactive) railroad tracks to the Gondola at The Westin - it was a fairly easy walk, about 8 minutes or so (there is also a bus that picks up near the condo if you prefer a ride up to BC Village). We really like the Kurieg K-cups coffee maker - this is what we're used to at home but its the first condo we've rented that has one (and we have stayed in a ton of rental condos in ski towns). The underground parking was nice and we liked the fact that the grocery store is really close by, you can easily walk there from the condo. Sun and Ski is right nearby too incase you forgot anything you needed to ski. Janet is very easy to work with. We would recommend this condo.
