There’s nothing quite like the outdoors. Whether you enjoy fishing, camping, biking, snowmobiling or hunting, it's all within your grasp. Looking out the front door of this beautiful cottage, you will see the breathtaking beauty of the Chippewa River. This cottage is great in any season. There are 6 windows across the river side of the cottage.
Summertime is great for fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boating. Fall is a great time to take a bike ride on the Old Abe Bike Trail, fish on the Chippewa River or go hunting for local wildlife including squirrel, deer, bear, rabbits, fox, etc. just a short distance away.
Winter is great for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and downhill skiing a short distance away.
Spring is a great time to watch the woods come alive after winter. Enjoy family activities such as biking, hiking, fishing and camp fires. Regardless of what season, or all, you intend to visit there is something for everyone.
Local attractions include Ice Age Trail, Leinenkugels Brewery, Brunet Island State Park and close proximity to Lake Holcombe and Lake Wissota. In the summer you are within minutes of the Country Fest and Rock Fest grounds and Jim Falls Sturgeon Festival over Labor Day.

Sue left me a voicemail saying the interior light in my car was left on. That’s a great host!! The place was perfect; exactly what we wanted. Great spaces to hang out both inside and out. Plenty of space for the four of us. Such beautiful sunsets and views of the water in general. Chippewa Falls was only 20 minutes away and lots of fun to explore! We would love to come back.

Property is in a great location for enjoying the Brunet Island State Park and Chippewa Falls (including Old Abe Bike Trail). Once construction materials in the back yard and that project are complete, it will provide a really nice place to sit and view the river.

Cute cabin right on the river- we were in town for the Force Fields music festival and we didn't want to mess with camping at the venue (we like our sleep) and it was less than a 10 min drive and was perfect for what we needed. We cooked big steaks outside on the charcoal grill and ate at a cute wooden table along the water. The bathroom shower could use some work and maybe an updated A/C unit but it has everything we needed.

The cottage was smelling of mold. It had mold on the siding and the the shower. The host was very kind, but we couldn’t stay the second day due to the conditions. We haven’t received any reimbursement for the second day.

It is not black mold. It is green mildew that almost every house in this area has on the North side of their house. If they smelled it right away, they should have said something. We encourage our guests to contact us if there is a complaint. We were home all evening and didn't hear anything from them. The cottage is inspected every year and if there was a problem, we would have been told. We have repeat guests and if they felt there was something endangering their health, we would have heard about it. It is an old cottage and they usually have a smell of age. I’m sorry this couple wasn’t happy.

Norm and Sue have a cozy and clean cabin. We enjoyed being right on the Chippewa River and the close proximity to the Old Abe Trail.
Sunsets are spectacular from the cabin!

The tall trees make a tunnel for the trail on the north end by Cornell.

The cottage does look a bit older from outside but inside was clean and cozy.

Great relaxing stay. Great sunsets and very quiet place. Fishing for smallmouth bass was super on the Chippewa River. If you need to relax and have a peaceful trip this is the place to go!

For two men that rented the cottage, I couldn't have wanted a cleaner place when they checked out. It was as clean as when they checked in. We really enjoyed their company.

My wife and I are originally from Ladysmith, WI, which is about 30 miles north on highway 27. My father bought the cottage shortly after we got married. We lived in it for about 3 years before we built our own home next door. When my parents passed away, we inherited the property. We rented it on an annual basis until the last renter nearly destroyed it. I decided we would try the 'rent by the week' idea and see how it went. We are still fairly new at this and consider all suggestions to improve the cottage.
