About this property

Charming Bastides with pools on a pristine vineyard in a stunning location

‘ La Bastide' is located in the heart of the costal part of Provence, a short drive from St Tropez. The houses have been carefully renovated over time, however retaining the traditional provencale materials such as stone, terracotta and wooden beams. They are designed to offer a flowing indoor outdoor experience to our guests, allowing everyone to take advantage of the wonderful weather from April to end of October and often all year round!
When you arrive at La Bastide, you are personally welcomed by the owners Julie-Anne and David who have lived in the area for more than 20 years! We are permenantly on site to provide concierge service to our guests and answer any questions on the area, things to do restaurants to try and pass on some of the secret places only known to the locals!
The property is set on grounds of pristine vineyards and forests, ideal for exploring by bike or on foot.
The location allows visators a sense of tranquility and offers breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the surrounding valleys and vineyards.
The properties are very private and neighbouring only with the vines, giving our guests a feeling of total relaxation.
The two houses are perfect for friends and families traveling together but still wanting the privacy of their own home. Set in lush mature gardens, the outdoor terraces are furnished for dining and lounging in shaded areas while others bask in sunshine. The french chic interiors are designed to give a 'boutique hotel' and Provencale feel, while modern requirements such as WIFI English freeview TV, Netflix and Apple TV to make you feel at home!
There is a separate heated pool for each house with barbecue areas which look out over the vines and Maures hills. Note; Bastide 1 third bedroom is in the guest house.
You will find the village of Plan de la Tour a 10 minute walk, where there is a collection of restaurants to sample plus a colourful weekly market and 2 small supermarkets.
We can arrange to have the fridge full and provide catering, allowing your first evening to be truely a relaxing stress free holiday experience!
St Tropez and Pampalone beach are a 25 minute drive just waiting for the guest in search of the ultimate entertainment on the Cote d'Azur!

Dream Property

Fantastic home and wonderful host. The Bastide (2) was beautiful - clean, very spacious, and a wonderful blend of old country French and modern clean finishes. All the conveniences with absolutely gorgeous grounds and pool. Of particular note were the multiple outdoor ‘rooms ‘ for dining, relaxing, cooking, taking in the views and of course - drinking the local wines. Julie-Anne was an exceptionally gracious and friendly hostess. Will definitely return!

Excellent, everything was as shown or possibly better. The house is near a village that seems untouched and has everything, restaurants grocery etc. the proximity of house to nearby sights works perfectly The owner, Julie was just as other reviewers said, very helpful, seemed to be very "hands on" and yet totally respected your privacy. Will certainly return hopefully .

Absolute haven

The Bastide was glorious. The setting is incredible with the outside space and view of vineyard and hills. The house was so beautifully decorated with the most well-equipped kitchen ever (better than ours!). Even the outside kitchen was very well kitted. The pool area was private and the pool heated, and it was often cleaned. Julie-Anne and David were wonderful hosts. Easy to contact; very helpful and friendly; but never intrusive. The area was great- nearby village busy and welcoming. We visited St Maxime quite a bit; St Tropez and Monaco, which were lovely days out. I did find the booking on VRBO confusing as unclear which bastide was which but they both looked so lovely that we were unconcerned. This holiday was 5* and I would not hesitate to recommend it, thank you!

We hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf! De ligging is perfect: rustig en toch dicht bij het charmante stadje Plan de la Tour, waar we op donderdag de gezellige markt hebben bezocht. Ook een goede uitvalsbasis om tal van andere plaatsen te bezoeken, van Aix-en-Provence tot Nice.De accommodatie zelf is prachtig ingericht, tot in de puntjes verzorgd en van alle gemakken voorzien. De airco op de kamers was een verademing tijdens de warme dagen, alsook het praktische zwembad. Ook onze hond voelde zich meteen thuis, dankzij de goed omheinde tuin en de rustige omgeving.Julie Anne en haar man waren enorm vriendelijk en steeds behulpzaam bij vragen – echt top!Kortom: een heerlijke plek om zowel te ontspannen en tot rust te komen, als leuke uitstappen te maken en markten te bezoeken. Wij komen zeker graag terug!

Heerlijk huis, rustig, maar dichtbij en op korte rijafstand op alle highlights

Een heerlijk huis, van binnen is het precies zoals het aangegeven is op de foto's. Alles is aanwezig en mocht je iets willen vragen, dan is Julie -Ann absoluut een geweldige hulplijn. Twee vaatwassers was fijn met een groter gezelschap. Het zwembad was heerlijk!! De BBQ hebben wij veelvuldig gebruikt. Leuk het marktje in Plan de laTour. Saint Tropez was te druk om naar de markt te gaan, Maar prima op een andere dag. De supermarkt ook op korte rijafstand. Wat ons betreft zeker een aanrader! Wij hebben genoten. Une maison exceptionnelle

L'endroit est calme et au milieu des vignes La maison est particulièrement jolie et agréable à vivre. Elle dispose de tout ce qui est nécessaire et même plus. Les espaces extérieurs sont nombreux (deyx pour le barbecue et un pour déjeuner sans compter l'espace piscine) pour permettre de toujours bénéficier du soleil ou de l'ombre selon la saison.

Ruhe und Entspannung im liebevoll eingerichteten Landhaus

Wir können dieses top ausgestattete Haus allen empfehlen die ein Haus abseits des Trubels suchen und dennoch in kurzer Zeit an den Hotspots der Region sein möchten. Die sehr sympathischen Hausherren machen das Objekt zum Geheimtipp.

A home away from home

We stayed in Bastide 1 which is home to the owners of the property out of season. During the season, they rent out Bastides 1 & 2 and live in another property close by. They are therefore on hand to deal with any queries or issues ; not that we had any - everything was perfect. Bastide 1 is a few minute drive (15 minute walk) to the nearest town, Le Plan de la Tour, which is small and full of character, but has all the main amenities including bars, restaurants, grocery store and of course a boulangerie ! Sainte Maxime is around 10 - 15 minutes away by car and is a lovely town to explore. Much larger than Le Plan de la Tour (but not too large) and full of character as well as nice eateries and shops. Back to Bastide 1 - the setting is pretty much perfect for me. It is a few hundred metres off the main road so very quiet and not overlooked. The house is adjacent to a vineyard which you can see out of the bedroom, kitchen and lounge windows. The views from the house and the outside areas are sublime - beautiful manicured vineyards and lush, rolling hills. The only noise to be heard is made by birds ! There is a spacious terrace at the front of the property as well as a pool and outside barbecue and cooking area ; if you like outside living, you will love this property. Inside is very cosy and has retained lots of character. It is very tastefully decorated and the main lounge/living room is very spacious and comfortable. There are 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) in the main house and there is a separate building next to the pool (10 metres from the main property) which houses the third bedroom and a lovely bathroom. We really didn't want to leave this property and would love to return again.

The best of Provence

Spectacular! The only thing better than La Bastide itself was the warm and welcoming nature of the owners and hosts, Julie-Ann and David. They opened their magnificent home that sits within their vineyard on the outskirts of Le Plan-de-la-Tour. Of all our trips to Europe this was one of the best and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. The location is ideal for cycling, hiking, exploring everything that Provence has to offer, or simply relaxing by the pool. My only complaint is that the time went by far too quickly. Thank you Julie-Ann and David for a wonderful trip!

Traumhaft schön

Wir haben im Dezember eine Woche in diesem traumhaften Ferienhaus verbracht. Es ist genau so, wie man sich ein Haus in der Provence vorstellt . Am Rande der Weinberge, absolut ruhig und herrlich für Spaziergänge mit und ohne Hund geeignet. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt.

TRULY MAGICAL

Despite the stunning pictures, Bastide 2 was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Stunning location, very high spec, so tasteful, beautifully furnished and equipped, the owners have thought of absolutely everything to make your holiday a lasting memory. The owners Julie-Anne and David are charming hosts, helpful and were delighted to help us make the most of our short time in Plan de La Tour. Their suggestions were invaluable. A big thank you! We shall definitely return as soon as we can. Really, I couldn't recommend this beautiful house more highly.

Our stay in two Bastides!

Due to agenda conflicts and other commitments we had three weeks, spread over both Bastides. We had a wonderful time in both of them and are already longing to come back again next year. The place has it all: wonderful surroundings, beautiful pools, very nice kitchen with outdoor grilling possibilities, near to a very nice small village and not too far from St Maxime as well. The owners are darlings What more can you wish for?

The perfect holiday

Just returned from our 3rd stay at La Bastides and yet again it was the perfect holiday. The accommodation is fantastic, everything you could wish for with all the mod cons and fantastic pool and outside areas to relax. Perfect location of peace and tranquillity with Plan de la tour a 15 min walk away with lovely restaurants and typical French charm. We have booked again for next summer we love it that much.

We are an Irish family living in Plan de la Tour France since 2005. Our twin boys, Tom and Max were born here and go to the local school in our lovely village. David travels around the world for work and I, Julie-Anne stay here and manage our houses in Plan de la Tour. My background is travel related, as I managed many properties in Italy for over 10 years until moving to France, when we purchased La Bastide to continue with the same business. We adore this area and find it perfect for our children to grow up! David and I are keen travellers, skiers, golfers, sailors, divers, horse riders and enjoy the wonderful outdoor life that the weather allows us here in the South of France.

Why they chose this property

We saw La Bastide in a real estate magazine, viewed it the next day and then made an offer the same day! Offer accepted we moved in late 2005 and began renovations to the gardens and houses. Chance would have it that we had our lovely village of Plan de la Tour a short walk and the excitement of StTropez and surrounding attractions a few minutes drive, so it really felt it was perfect for us and our guests to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

When we walked up the drive for the first time, the vineyard came into view, which completely surprized us and how close to the house it was, just like a large front garden! The stone house looked like it had always been there. Enchanted, as we explored the property, all the potential became apparent, especially how we could make it into a wonderful home for us and to remain here for ever!
