First time on the East Coast
My husband and I traveled from Victoria to meet up with relatives from the U.K to explore Atlantic Canada. We found Paulette and her accommodations a great place to start our adventures. Centrally located we were able to walk to many local attractions, including Halifax Harbour. Place worked out great for the five of us and definitely would stay again. Thanks Paulette for your hospitality and help during our stay.

Great place, great owner
The apartment was in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the shops and restaurants on Quinnpool Rd, 10 minutes walk to the Citadel, and 20 minutes walk to the harbour. The place had everything we needed and easily accommodated to families consisting of 4 adults and 3 kids. The owner, Paulette was very friendly and easy to communicate with. There was a problem with the kitchen sink faucet and Paulette had a plumber fix the same day. I would highly recommend this place.

Halifax Flat
Great location and comfortable flat! My family of 6 had e everything we needed for our stay. The owner was very pleasant, and we were able to walk to do most all the sights we wanted to see in Halifax. Also walked to great restaurants!

Great stay in Halifax
This is a great property for a visit to Halifax. It is very roomy and much larger than the photos would indicate.. We were traveling as a family of five and everyone had their own room. All of the conveniences you need for a comfortable stay are there. It is a great location, very close to downtown and Quinpool Road, which is a block away, has every type of store/restaurant you need. Paulette was a great host and very welcoming. We would highly recommend for a short (or even long) stay in Halifax.

Host profile image
I am a retired teacher and many years ago I bought this century house - a set of flats in downtown Halifax Nova Scotia. My 3 children were attending 3 different schools as was I, so this house was handy to everything close by, and accessible by foot. We moved into the main-floor flat, renovated the basement and for over 20 years rented the upstairs 2nd and 3rd floor furnished flat on an annual basis.

I joined VRBO beginning in the summer of 2015 and operated on a short-term basis during the spring and summer season - May to August, as a Premier Host, until Covid shut everything down in 2020. I am optimistically looking forward to hosting again this year with fingers crossed :) This property location continues to be supreme as the heart and soul of city central - it has it all, and is easily accessible to historic or green space venues. The ocean air is at your doorstep . . . on a misty summer night you can hear the fog horn . . .

Why they chose this property

This property is in the heart of the city - downtown residential and amenities galore.

2nd floor - 2 large bedrooms with Queen beds - workspace - closets - nice lighting

2nd floor Living room - acts with TV and AC.

3rd Floor - 2 large bedrooms - Double beds. An adult must stay with a child under 13.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique in that the century old woodwork and doors are the original throughout the house. The old cast iron radiators add charm with the mix of vintage furnishings in every room.

This flat has been host to groups of people attending graduations, conferences, weddings, family reunions, sport and business events and festivals in the performing and visual arts.

Guests have used this flat as a jumping off point to explore Halifax and real countryside with unique history and diverse landscape in other parts of Nova Scotia:

The Annapolis Valley - 1 hour's drive - amazing countryside - cows in pastures;
The South Shore - white sandy beaches;
Cape Breton - fabulous mountain and coastal scenery and home to international music-makers.
