About Lila Bodnar

Born and raised in Canada.

Lila Bodnar purchased this condo in 2008

Why Lila Bodnar chose Puerto Aventuras

Fell in love with the wonderful people and beautiful landscape. Puerto Aventuras is also a gated community with security at all times. That in itself appealed to me as I worry about security in different countries.

What makes this condo unique

Quiet, family orientated resort. Children can play in the pools all day long. Plus there is room to bring the whole family, Mom ,Dad, Grandma ,Grandpa plus four kids or more family like sisters, brothers, in-laws, etc. Or just come as a couple or single with these prices all of you can enjoy this wonderful condo.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Feb 20 - Mar 6,2015 What a sad morning, its back to reality as we are off to catch a plane. Your place is so beautiful, everything we needed was here. Beaches are fantastic anywhere you go but our best beach was down the road here at the bridge. We would feed the fish bread and sit in the water drinking a beer. PARADISE!!! We will be back so we can have our daily swim in the pool. Thanks again.

37 Nights at Marina Mia

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely 3 bedroom penthouse condo in the Marina Mia condominiums in the gated Community of Puerto Aventuras for the second time (the first time being 32 nights in the summer of '15). Again, we had a lovely stay. The condo is roomy, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the hot tub on the roof, the two beautiful pools downstairs, and the outside shower to rinse sand off our feet before entering the condo. The large patio has an electric grill which we used frequently. We appreciated the weekly cleaning service. The condo is close to a little lagoon which we visited frequently, as well as strolled down the beach in front of the Catalonia. We took a couple 'side trips' and got to experience more of the Yucatan. The condo unit is safe, clean and spacious. It sleeps 8 very comfortably. The linens (including comforters) are kept clean and fresh. We try to be respectable about conserving electricity by not using the A/C when not absolutely necessary.

Good place for a family in Puerto Aventuras

  • 4 of 5

We just stayed 5 nights at this Marina Mia condo, and it worked out great for our family. We liked the three rooms and that each of our four kids had their own bed (including the twin bunks). The place was very clean when we arrived, which we really appreciated, along with the big jug of drinking water and some condiments and other non-perishables in one of the cupboards. The washer/dryer unit had just gone out before we arrived and was not able to be fixed until after we left, but we had all packed enough clothes for five days and managed to do without it.

The rooftop patio is a nice feature, though we did not end up using it much. The unit also has a cooler and what seemed to be a decent supply of beach chairs, beach/pool toys, etc. -- and also two sets of golf clubs -- which again are nice features that we did not end up using. The unit had plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses, and cookware for our family as long as we ran the dishwasher once a day. We averaged about two meals per day in the condo.

Puerto Aventuras is a fun resort community with lots to do. The location of this condo is pretty good on the whole, though that probably depends on what you prioritize. It was a brisk 15 minute walk to get to the main area with the restaurants and shops. But only about 3 minute to walk to the lobby of the Catalonia where they could call a taxi for us when we wanted to leave. It cost us 90 pesos each way to go to the Super Che grocery store just across the highway, which we only had to do once.

Being on the 3rd floor it tends to be a bit warmer sometimes than ground-level. With windows open and fans blowing it was usually pleasant enough, we only had to run the AC one evening. But it sits on an intersection of two roads and the muffler-free trucks and motorcycles can be a bit loud, though on the whole there's not much activity on the roads in the community.

Overall, quite pleased with our stay. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Our shower was fine in the master, the kids were not so pleased with theirs (low water pressure, especially if used at the same time as ours). The wifi worked fine. Didn't seem to be any satellite/cable TV, but they had a nice selection of DVD's, and we brought a few. The pools on property are very simple, but fine for the kids to play around for an hour or so. We did a day pass at the Catalonia ($50 per adult 11 am - 6 pm, includes one meal). The Omni is cheaper (700 pesos), but farther away.

Everything we needed and more...

  • 5 of 5

My mother, my wife and our two kids (10 and 12) have just spent two amazing weeks in this PA.

This condo had everything we needed to be very comfortable when we were not at the beach or in a nearby Cenote. Actually, this condo is bigger than what the pictures are showing. It is only a 5 minutes’ walk to get to the beach which is what we were looking for.

PA is a gated community which make this area very safe. Never we were worried about our safety.

You will find some very good restaurants in PA. On our first day we were having lunch just next to the dauphins.

In summary:

Unit was bigger than expected

Unit is comfortable (beds, sofa, etc...)

Walking distance from the beach

Gated community

Beach gears (towels, chairs, cooler, etc...)

Private SPA on the roof

Lila is very easy to reach and she did respond quickly to our different requests

Best Little Spot In PA

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 tremendously enjoyed our stay at Marina Mia. The condo was very large, spacious, bright, and extremely well kept. Puerto Aventuras is a great place for families and so much to do. We had such a great time and loved the home so much that we plan on returning again. A very big thanks to Lila, Gina, and the entire staff that went above and beyond to make our stay more than exceptional.

Family of four and rotating guests stayed for a month, was perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed for 32 glorious nights. When we arrived there were 5 of us, me, my husband, 14 year old son, 12 year old daughter, and 65 year old father. Then we had another friend (single male in early 40's join us) There was PLENTY of room for everyone for sleeping, bathrooms, and eating meals. Later in the month we had another family of 5 (mom, dad & three kids) join us for a total of 9 of us for 2 nights, and there was still plenty of space. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the washer and dryer in the unit. Absolutely loved living and entertaining in this condo! It is secure, safe, clean and well maintained. The two pools are gorgeous and a great way to cool off. We loved the location and ventured down to the lagoon (about 2 blocks) frequently. We snorkeled in nearby Fatima bay (the north side, enter next to Captain Rick's north of the Omni) frequently. Great, huge reefs right off shore. The entire area of Puerto Aventuras was a true dream. We rented bikes from MarieCarmen (in the real estate office south of Paparazzi pizza) and biked to the Chedraui grocery store, and to the gates to catch the Colectivo. We ate fresh fish from the marina as often as I could get it. We loved visiting the produce stand in the promenade on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We took the Colectivo (bus) to all of the nearby Cenotes, including Azul, Jardin de Eden, and Cristolina, and all the nearby beaches including Paa Mul, Akumul, Xpu-Ha, and combo beach/cenote XCasel, and down to Tulum (town and ruins). We also took the Colectivo to Xcaret, saving approx $30 per person transportation fees. Glad we had weekly cleaning service, the ladies were very nice, thorough and spoke reasonable English. We tipped $150 Pesos per cleaning. We discovered that if you open the sliding glass doors (which extend the ENTIRE) width of the living room, and open the front door (which has a locking screen door) you can create a nice cross breeze negating the need to run the a/c. We also liked the fact that the cost of electricity was included. We used the charcoal grill on the roof, as well as the gas grill in the common area. We likely would have eaten dinner in the common area by the pool more often, but the bugs were annoying in the evenings. The Wi-Fi worked best on the patio (and not at all in the bedrooms), so we had to work outside. Lila and Gina were easy to work with and responsive to any questions I had. This is one of the best values in the area, We will absolutely be back!

Wonderful Great Place

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place and wonderful time we had. The condo was such a great place! The dolphin place was such a wonderful experience for us and the kids. We checked out some of the beaches but found that the best beach is just down the road by the little bridge. Take frozen peas to the beach if you have kids or just want to be surrounded by fish. VERY COOL! After the beach go to Jessie's Gelatio as it is amazing as well. All in all an amazing unforgettable trip! Would love to come back as we don't want to leave.
