About the property

This secluded villa on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific is surrounded by thousands of acres of virgin forest and is perfect for three couples or a large family. The main house has two master suites, 3 1/2 baths & a small media room. The living area opens to a “Lake Como” style veranda that looks down on a beautiful cove and also has spectacular mountain views….as does the open air covered dining area. The large pool is set between the casita and the main house. The casita has the identical views with the third bedroom/bath and is complete with kitchen & sitting area. If you are looking for a real getaway that is totally private with fantastic views, you will not find anything better. There is a guarded entry at the entrance to the project and a 4 kilometer scenic drive to the house. We are located half way between Nosara & Samara and only 3 kilometers from the small fishing village of Garza. The private beach inside the project is just a 1 kilometer walk down the hill from our house. If you like tennis, horse back riding, surfing, canopy rides, or playing bridge it’s just a 25 minute drive to Nosara. There are several small quaint restaurants in Garza, but many in the near by tourist towns of Nosara and Samara. Get away from the tourist scene and have a secluded and romantic setting only minutes from restaurants and fun activities. The regular price includes both the main house and the casita. Contact owner if you are wanting to rent only the main house. There will be a caretaker on the property and maid that comes twice weekly and a resident dog. About Jim and Linda Wall

Jim is a retired architect and builder from California and Linda is a retired teacher and mortgage banker from Texas.

Jim and Linda Wall purchased this villa in 2008

Why Jim and Linda Wall chose Costa Rica

We actually saw this property on horseback ten years before it came up for sell. We fell in love with the fantastic view of the ocean and the cove. The project is so unusual because of the large lots (2+ acres) and the underground utilities, both very unusual for this area. It is just so private and secluded with a white sand beach inside the project that has no public access.

What makes this villa unique

We designed the house to capture the spectacular views and prevailing breezes from the ocean. We enjoy the privacy of our location and the beach that has no public access. We have monkeys in the trees on occasion and frogs croaking at night in the rainy season. There are beautiful sunsets and sunrises. We know we have the best of Costa Rica. It is really paradise.

Review # 14465546 "Enchanting Villa Overlooking Pacific Ocean"

unforgettable holiday

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We spent 12 days in this marvelous villa in a vast tropical forest estate with ocean views.

A paradise with views of the cliff and with a swimming pool with Jacuzzi, the villa has been designed and furnished with taste and attention to every detail. With a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable outdoor seating dinners to enjoy delicious moments become immersed in all this peace and in harmony with the wildlife of the forest and the roar of the ocean waves that feel to be down in the bay. Every evening we had a visit from a very nice and quite harmless armadillo who came to visit us showing his splendid armor worthy of a medieval knight. Everything around an entomologist would have bread for his teeth! They feel, and in the dry season you can see many monkeys and then many pizotes. Then we had the company of Sylvie, a sweet little dog who will be missed. An unforgettable experience was the horseback ride with Jackson, in the forest and then on the beach (ask at the gate). Priceless Tito, the ever-present guardian factotum, who has made us enjoy every evening of the hydromassage pool.

If one day I will return to Costa Rica, we'll return to Villa Ventana Pavones.

The villa is everything they say it is in their listing! We've had a great stay!

The place is fantastic! The roads are rough but you get used to them. Be sure to use only the fluorescent lights in the kitchen and the led lights in the wall sconces at night or you will have a lot of visitors of the insect variety! We enjoyed our stay here immensely! Can't wait to return!

Vacanza indimenticabile

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful private villa

  • 5 of 5

Two and a half couples spent a week in this exceptional and private house. The house and grounds were spotless. The location on a ridge well above the Pacific provided vistas during the days and a cooling breeze at night. It is about a 4 kilometer gravel drive with some serious grades so a 4X4 is a good recommendation. Enjoyed monkeys in the trees next to the house, 4 white horses rolling in the sand on the beach, with coatis as well as iguanas along the road. Beautiful pool and landscaping between the house and casita. Great sunsets from behind the casita. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed nightly open air dining on the second floor open grill and dining area. Palm trees on the beach provided shade and comfort. Evening stargazing at the beach was a treat.

Lovely home with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Jim and Linda's! We were a group of 6 adults and there was plenty of space. The location is in between Nosara and Samara and it took us about 30 minutes to get to either one. Both have great restaurants, shops, and beaches. The beach in front of the house is pretty rocky so while its beautiful, it's not for swimming. We really loved the beach in Garza which is just a few minutes down the road from the front gate. We did stay in one night and cook at the house and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The house is secluded so we did see lots of wildlife including spiders and scorpions inside the house, but after the first day it seemed they had cleared out. We also saw monkeys, bats, white nosed coatis (we think), and horses all on the property. There is no central AC but with the windows and some balcony doors open it even got a little chilly at night sometimes. The pool is fantastic and Tito was there every morning keeping it clean and helping with anything else we needed. Daisy came to clean once while we were there and she was amazing as well! We also really enjoyed the dog and cat! Both very sweet. We had a lovely time and I hope to stay there again in the future!

Perfect Private Oasis

  • 5 of 5

Our visit to this private villa on a cliff overlooking the ocean and rainforests of Costa Rica was nothing less than incredible! We traveled with our 2 adult children (19, 22) and sought a remote location with all the amenities, a private pool and beach. This property fit our wish list perfectly.

Garza is 20 mins (2 small markets). Nosara is 30 mins (famous for surfing, yoga, outdoor restaurants (La Luna, Il Basilico, Rancho Tico are great). Samara is 60 mins (larger town with a Pali “walmart” grocery, tourist shops, and restaurants (try Gusto Beach). We enjoyed the slower paced scenic drives on dirt roads, incredible vistas, and an opportunity to experience the “off the grid” culture of this beautiful countryside. We rented a full-size 4x4 SUV and were glad to have it. All nearby roads are dirt and the driveway to the villa is steep in places.

This was the most magnificent private beach we have ever enjoyed (1 km from villa). We loved the surf at high tide, enjoyed the dramatic landscape and hike along the coastline at low tide. The villa has beach chairs and umbrella in a storage area off the driveway, although the beach has a long row of palm trees that provides all the shade needed.

The house was immaculate and comfortable. The main house has 2 comfortable bedroom suites (2nd floor master has breathtaking views). There is a twin sleeping couch in the TV area on the 2nd floor w/full bath. The kitchen is well-appointed and had all staples needed. We suggest that you stop for food/beverages on the drive in from the airport in Nicoya (1 hr from villa; ½ way from Liberia airport) with a large vege/fruit store and grocery. After that, you can get most grocery, beer, wine at local markets. Satellite TV is available, but WIFI is spotty so we suggest that you do the majority of your research before arrival. The casita has an open floor plan with a queen bed, trundle bed, full bath, efficiency kitchen w/ eat-in area and has incredible views as well.

Every detail was put into the design and architecture of the infinity pool and Jacuzzi, perfectly located between the house and casita - refreshing after touring/beach day with the same breathtaking vistas of cove/mountains. We enjoyed the monkeys in the trees nearby and the frogs singing to one-another as we swam. If you are not a beach person or don’t want to go anywhere, you would be happy here all day in this private oasis. We highly recommend this private, quiet, well-appointed property!

Located inside a 1300 acre project, we are 4 kilometers from our gated entrance at the main road. It is so quiet here that the only outside noise would be from the birds & monkeys waking you in the morning. A short walk down the hill from the house you can experience a totally private beach that has no public entrance. We moved to Nosara 18 years ago when it was just a quiet little town. We fell in love with the beauty of the landscape, the friendly people, and the peaceful life style. With all the development and now a year round tourist season, it is no longer that quant little town. So we found an ideal location outside of Garza with the beauty and quaintness we appreciate. The lots are 2+ acres, cannot be subdivided, have underground utilities, and are surrounded by virgin forest. There are balmy breezes off the ocean and it’s nice not to have to contend with the dust from the dirt roads. We enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist town and still having all the amenities with less than a 30 min. drive. The only sounds are from nature and the ocean waves hitting the shore. Overlooking the ocean and within walking distance of a totally private beach is so special. We have great sunsets and sunrises. Our spectacular view was just icing on the cake. Our home is secluded and private and inaccessible to uninvited guests with a locked and manned entrance. If you value your privacy and security, it is the perfect location.

Nosara has the perfect beach for swimming and surfing. You don’t have to share our private beach with tourist but it is not good for swimming or surfing. It does have Palm trees for shade and a fresh water stream in the rainy season. There is lots of white sand for the kids to play.
