About the property

Outstanding Private Home in Rural Location.

This listing is for occupancy of the entire ground floor living area including all three bedrooms. Corporate rates are available and will be quoted prior to booking for bona fide corporations. Fine Art House is located on 10 acres nestled in the hills of south central Pennsylvania and is owned and operated by a professional photographer. Surrounded by woods and horse pastures, peace and quiet is abundant. Every room is an art gallery filled with fine art canvas. With 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, living room with satellite TV, dining room and fully equipped kitchen, there's enough room for the entire family! In the summer you can sit out on the wood deck and watch the squirrels play, listen to the birds chirp or watch the horses graze while enjoying the sun and sipping on your favorite beverage. Centrally located, Fine Art House is convenient to a multitude of activities. Just 10 minutes south is York, the first capital of the United States. York is the home of Harley Davidson, the York Revolution baseball team, and the countries oldest county fair which is held in September. York is well known for it's downtown farmer's market and it hosts the Street Rods National East event in June. For all of you wine connoisseurs there are several local wineries one of which is only 5 minutes away! Fifteen minutes north is Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania. Harrisburg is the home of the Harrisburg Senators baseball team, the Civil War Museum, fine dining, exciting nightlife and art shows. Five miles north of Harrisburg is the Rockville Bridge which the world's longest stone arch railroad bridge. The Hollywood Casino and Penn National Racetrack is 45 minutes away. Gettysburg and it's battlefields are just 45 minutes away. Also just 45 minutes away is Lancaster County, home of the Amish and the Strasburg Railroad Museum. Baltimore with it's famous Inner Harbor is an hour away and Philadelphia is just 2 hours away. Hershey, the famous chocolate town, home of Hershey Chocolate, Hershey Amusement Park and Chocolate World is only 30 minutes away. Ski Roundtop, just 10 minutes away, caters not only to skiers in the winter but to a host of summer activities such as zip lines, paintball, bumper boats and more. Several 18 hole public golf courses are within a 15 minute drive. Gifford Pinchot State Park, just fifteen minutes away, offers boating, swimming, hiking and bird watching opportunities. Boating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing opportunities abound on the mighty Susquehanna River and a boat launch is only 15 minutes away. For bird watchers, the famous Conowingo Dam, home of one of the best places in the east to photograph Bald Eagles, is a mere hour away. Photographers from all over the country flock to Conowingo Dam in late November and early December for the Eagles as well as October through March for many other bird species. I also cater to horse people. If you have horses, I have several stalls available if you want to bring them along for an extra fee. There are 30 miles of trails out the back door for you to use, and trailer parking is available. For those traveling with pets, they are considered on a case-by-case basis. . Whatever your reason is for staying, you will find this an enjoyable place to stay!

Guests have access to the entire ground floor living area and the entire outdoor property and have their own private entrance.

This was a wonderful experience! The kids loved the horses and looking at all of the beautiful photos. It was like staying in a gallery. The house was well stocked and Michael (owner) was great! Couldn't have asked for better!!

Quiet, peaceful home in pastoral setting with all the amenities one could ask for

  • 5 of 5

This home was in a perfect location for exploring some wonderful PA parks and sites. The home is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The artwork displayed in the house is beautiful. We appreciated being off the beaten path yet still close to attractions. If you're looking for a tranquil spot, this is it!

Great for kids and dog

  • 5 of 5

Brought two young kids. They enjoyed the horses in the back yard and the horse art. The layout of the house is relatively friendly for older people (and older dogs) as well, as there are no stairs in the house - everything is on the same floor.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay at the Fine Art House. Very spacious and well stocked with linens, kitchenware including food, and interesting photographs. Rural setting (horses in back) yet convenient to restaurants, shops, etc. Michael was very accommodating and just a text away if needed. We appreciated bringing our dogs!
