Casa Le Coq accommodates a maximum of 6 people and no more than 6 allowed. As an owner, I take great pride with my home and simply ask that guests care for this special place as if it was their own. I am an artist, and have various paintings and personal belongings that add to the charm and spirit of this home that is built directly next to one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico.

The charm of Casa Le Coq lies in its open, sun filled simplicity. The ceiling to floor windows that frame the entire water facing view captures the sparkle of the sea.
Glass doors open to the private, architecturally designed pool. A grassy lawn and pots of deep raspberry bougainvillea led to the magnificent Playa Miramar.
Gently wrapping for miles along the Santiago Bay, beachcombers can stroll forever on the soft gold and black sands.
For those looking for shopping, an easy beach stroll will take you to numerous beach shops at the local Artisans Market. There you can find colorfully embroidered dresses and sombreros in every style.
Silver jewelry and handmade baskets are plentiful.
Sprinkled on the beach are umbrellas and brightly colored tables and chairs – each a family owned beachside café for the thirsty traveler.
The hip Oasis Beach Bar & Grill makes the best fish tacos you’ll find in Mexico. Margaritas and chips can keep you there for hours.
Morning yoga classes are held on the beachfront terrace.
Volleyball nets and happy folks find joy in a pick up game with strangers.
Paddles boards and ocean kayaks are available to rent and a horseback ride on the beach is easy to find.
Local fishing is considered some of the best in the world – Dorado being a favorite. Day trips are available to book
The ever so lively La Boquita is just a beach walk away on the playa. Mexican radio and numerous souvenir carts brimming with beach toys and snorkel gear, plentiful local restaurants and activities like the classic banana boat rides put a bit of pizazz in the otherwise tranquility of Playa Miramar.
Club Santiago’s private 9 hole golf course is one of several highly acclaimed courses in the area.
The famous Las Hadas resort is only a 10 minute drive away from Casa Le Coq, and is considered to have one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. The challenging Isla Navidad’s 27-hole championship course designed by Robert Von-Hagge, and the spectacular El Tamarindo, a 2,000 acre ecological preserve are sought after by players around the world.
The authentic town of Santiago is minutes away by car, and has wonderful open fish and vegetable markets for the foodies who visit. The Las Primavera Boutique sells handmade Talavera goods and specialty items that serve as reminders of the artisans of Mexico.
Mexico is about food and music and warmth and a loving and happy country of deeply spiritual people. Children are everywhere. And happiness abounds.
Casa Le Coq is a beach house on the playa. The sensibility is one of playfulness and relaxation. The climate is next to perfection and the ocean breeze keeps Casa Le Coq refreshing and always comfortable.
For those looking for excursions, the town of Barra de Navidad is a hipster surfing village with many local shops selling all things Mexican. Further up the coast is the elegant Careyes Resort and Spa and the mountainous volcanoes of Colima are a dramatic adventure excursion.
Manzanillo hosts a good number of locally owned restaurants from moderate to expensive serving delicious local and international cuisine, and if you choose to sample the food at any of the fine resorts in the area, dining is an exquisite experience, a combination of classic culinary techniques mixed with bold local flavors under the direction of internationally-trained chefs.
For those of you who want an authentic Mexican experience, far away from the maddening crowd, discover the charm of Casa Le Coq.
About the owner: John Le Coq Sr. built Casa Le Coq 42 years ago and recently passed the baton on to his son Johnny, a native Coloradan who loves the spirit and color of Mexico and its people. As a photographer and artist, he is drawn to the simplicity and charm of the sea. Johnny is the founder and owner of Fishpond, inc, a worldwide brand of fly fishing gear and accessories. As a commercial /advertising and fine art photographer, his images can be seen by searching John Land Le Coq
Why the Owner Chose Club Santiago, Manzanillo, Col., Mexico:
A winter escape to a land of warmth, color, spirit and liveliness. The quality of light in this special home is hard to describe, and the simplicity of space draws out the very best within ourselves.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
