Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms and 1 bath, with a huge fenced yard - adjacent to the Rail Trail!

This is a precious little house built in the late 1940's. It has one king bedroom and one queen bedroom, sharing a totally renovated bathroom with a beautiful glass shower. There is a 40' HD flat panel tv in the living room, and another 32' in the den / laundry room. The dining room seats 6, and there is a full kitchen with all new stainless appliances. There is a full size front loading washer dryer in the den. We are trying to figure out the best way to screen them, but they are brand new and pretty nice looking, so until we have a better solution, they are being shown off! Consider it a quirk ...

The screened porch has upholstered seating for 4, and there is an outdoor patio and deck for dining al fresco! The huge fenced yard is filled with lovely old trees, nice and shady!

Since our FABULOUS Spanish Moss Rail Trail is just 4 houses away, we provide bikes and helmets and locks - and a detailed map showing additional 'back roads' to get you all over downtown and our wonderful historic district!

Our other houses are all downtown, but I think the serenity of this neighborhood will be much appreciated. Have a look at our other listings on VRBO to see what our guests think about the quality of our homes: #282865 and #326642.

This one is of the same quality, just in a different downtown neighborhood!

About Erica

We looked for 7 years - up and down the east coast - for just the RIGHT spot to move as soon as our son went off to college. We always came back to Beaufort!

Growing up in Florida, John and I spent 9 years in Houston then 23 in the DC Metro Area, where we raised our son, Ryan. It was the perfect place to raise him, but WAY too cold for us Floridians! When Ryan headed off to Syracuse (BURRRRR!) John sold his IT company and I told Marriott we were heading south. I continued to design hotels for a couple years, then we started buying our own properties and it has become a full time job renovating them and running them as Short Term Rentals. We meet the nicest guests and are having a great time! Ryan has since graduated and is a short drive away in much warmer Atlanta - and he now understands that you don't HAVE to be that COLD!

Since moving here we have become very active in this wonderful community and even introduced a Dragon Boat Festival! We just had our 2nd annual DragonBoat Beaufort Race Day in late July, bringing 28 teams (about 600 people actually on the water - a couple thousand spectators) to our glorious waterfront park for a great day of competition and FUN for a very good cause. DragonBoat Beaufort supports cancer survivors and supporters locally, in individualized ways, all over Beaufort County. You can see a great video - thank you to the Beaufort International Film Festival - at the end of the listings in the URL section. WAY COOL!!!!!

Anyway - we love Beaufort and can't wait for you to visit!

Erica purchased this house in 2014

Why Erica chose Beaufort

This house was just TOO CUTE to pass up!!!! Great location and great bones - it just needed to be totally gutted and redone. It's what we do ....

What makes this house unique

Proximity to the Rail Trail and Downtown - Perfect!!!

Stayed 3 nights in early August. The house has been beautifully restored. We had everything we needed. Erica and John were very accommodating. Would absolutely stay here again.

A perfect house for our long weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Erica’s house was perfect for us! The location was close to the Spanish Moss Trail so we enjoyed daily walks. It’s so centrally located that you can do day trips to many nearby attractions. The back yard was perfect for our dogs and the house was stocked with anything you could want! We will definitely be back to this comfy little gem!! We didn’t want to leave!

Adorable, extremely clean and comfortable, all the amenities, great location.

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at this lovely cottage, we were greeted with all the lights on and music. The owners have a very detailed notebook with wonderful information on the area. The cottage was beautifully decorated with excellent linens and all the amenities. The back screened-in porch in that great back yard was perfect for sipping peach sangria with friends. We loved the access to the walking/bike trail and four bikes were available for our use. While there, we had spectacular meals at The Breakwater and the Lowcountry Market and Café (Fried fish with stone ground grits and tomato gravy was a revelation). We went to the Port Royal Farmer's Market and bought wonderful bounty for a feast we had for dinner at home followed by watching the Big Chill. In addition, we went to the Coastal Living Idea house, visited local thrift stores and shopped along the waterfront during the Water Festival. What an all-around lovely experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this house. By the way, we all agree that we think you both would be great friends to have!

Hermie! Oh How I loved you!!

  • 5 of 5

I was expecting to enjoy a weekend away from the hustle of my life. This gave me all that and more! Beuford was beautiful, the owners made sure we knew just where to go to explore including directions to the beautiful Hunting Island where I spent so much time I have to come back to take in Waterfront Park. The house had everything we needed to feel at home and relax. Leo loved exploring the huge fenced in back yard. I loved the landscaping and the soft grass under my feet. The beds were very comfortable! I went to sleep and woke up in the same position each night. The decor was perfect! I look forward to coming back and staying again at Hermie to learn more about Beuford while riding bikes along the trails. I am so grateful the owners are sharing it witjh everyone on VRBO!! Book your next stay here!! You wont be disappointed.

Great house, great location!

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for our kids to go to sailing camp, and this home was a perfect place to hang out for the week. It was stocked with everything we needed (except I could never find oven mits!) and was located just minutes from downtown and less than 15 from the Yacht Club where we in camp. The Spanish Moss bike trail right by the house and the bikes available were an added bonus!

Wonderful vacation home!!

  • 5 of 5

Had an absolutely amazing time at this lovely home. Erica and John have thought of everything to make their home so inviting for guests ... a few groceries and your toothbrush are all you need to bring. We loved having the Spanish Moss Rail trail so close by ... we took lots of long walks with our dogs and also enjoyed some long bike rides without them! The welcome book contained so many great ideas for restaurants and things to do ... we had yummy meals at The Brick, Crosta, Smokehouse BBQ at Port Royal, the Foolish Frog on St. Helena and even made a trip to Savannah to try Lady & Sons ... all were wonderful. Hunting Island was beautiful, especially the beach area near the Nature Center. Be sure and hike the trail to the beach ... you won't be disappointed. Beaufort is a lovely area to explore ... and having a wonderful home to come back to each day made this the best vacation ever! Can't wait to visit again!

This little house is in Beaufort's prestigious Hermitage Neighborhood, just 4 houses from the Spanish Moss Rail Trail - currently 3.3 miles, eventually 13.6 miles - a 12 foot wide concrete trail on an abandoned rail line. It is a beautiful ride (or walk) to Battery Creek, the historic Depot, and all the way to Port Royal. It is also an easy back road bike ride to our historic district, the waterfront park, the grocery store, and all of the downtown restaurants and shops - and we provide the bikes!

This is our first Short Term Rental outside the Historic District, and I think it will be very popular. We have spent months renovating this cute little house, and we love the neighborhood with it's beautiful trees and close proximity to everything! We are just blocks from the Technical College of the Lowcountry and Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Beaufort is a wonderful destination with a rich history surrounded on all sides by beautiful water. Our proximity to Charleston, Savannah, and Hilton Head makes it a convenient place to 'live' while exploring our beautiful lowcountry!
