Located 20 minutes east of Savannah, through several miles of beautiful sky and salt marshes, you’ll find Tybee Island — one of the most laid-back beaches on the southeastern coast.

You can walk the beach or just read a book while listening to the waves. Local shops and restaurants offer a variety of tastes for your enjoyment. And, of course, historic Savannah is nearby.

Our house is located about one-half mile north of the Tybee Pavilion and Pier at one of the nicest locations on Tybee Island’s beach. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and away from the public beach parking lots.

From Savannah, follow 80E to Tybee Island where it becomes Butler Street. Stay on Butler St. until you reach 13th Lane, take Left on to 13th Lane. Beach Haven is at the end of the lane (1309A).

Lovely family time at the beach

Beach Haven is indeed a lovely place. First of all the service was wonderful. The owner and contact people were always very helpful and responded quickly with any issues or questions. The house itself is very nice and comfortable. The one issue though is that if you have problems with stairs, this house is on 3 floors. It was not a problem for us, but just something to keep in mind if you do have issues. The house had everything we needed, for cooking, for playing on the beach, and for enjoying our stay. All of the beds were super comfortable and the view from the Master bedroom is unbelievable. We spent a lot of time n the deck as well, it was so peaceful! It was indeed a lovely vacation. Thanks for everything!

We stayed here 3/26 - 3/31/2017. This house has a horrible on-going bed bug infestation. Having never dealt with bedbugs, this was all new to us. The bloody sheets, being awoken at all times of the night with these pests crawling all over us, as well as the itching/rashes that show up. We first spotted bed bugs the second morning throughout the house. We contacted the home owner about this issue and an exterminator was sent out.

As a precaution we took it upon ourselves to contact another local exterminating co. that specializes in bed bugs to advise us and help us get home “Bed Bug” free.

The owner's exterminator confirmed after their inspection that the home did indeed have a bed bug infestation. The owner offered to pay for a hotel room for our last night there, but after having been advised by several experts as to how bed bugs travel so easily from home to home, we did not think it was prudent nor advisable to just pack up & leave. Most likely we would be taking the bed bugs with us by transporting them in clothes, suit cases & vehicles if we did not take special precautions.

We spent our last night on Tybee Island washing/drying everything that we had & sealing our things in black trash bags. The owner wanted us out by 8:00am the next day so they could have the exterminators spray pesticides throughout the house before the next family arrived. We were told by others that the house was sprayed just before our arrival also. At 11am we witnessed the exterminator still applying these pesticides with the next family due in early that same afternoon. These guys were in full body suits & respirators while they did their spraying. I don’t know exactly what chemicals they were spraying but it did warrant these extreme safety measures to those that applied it.

We, along with every other renter of this home, have been unknowingly exposed to these pesticides and have not been given the opportunity to protect ourselves.

At our own expense we arranged for a bed bug remediation dog to inspect all of our personal items & two cars the morning we left. We also hired another company to meet us back home to inspect all of our belongings before we entered our home just as a precaution.

Renters should make their own decisions and become educated as to how bed bugs manifest themselves. They cannot be eliminated by just spraying pesticides for a few weeks and hoping for the best.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, as an owner of a rental property, you never know if that next guest is going to be the guest that they write horror stories about like the stories written by Stephen King. This is true of the family that posted this review. I will tell you that this review is full of outright lies and is currently under review by VRBO. I have owned this property for many years and my rental property is kept impeccably clean and pest free. I strive to maintain it in a way that is acceptable and pleasing to my guests as well as myself. If you read my reviews, you will see that my reviews have all been favorable and that this review is an outlier and full of misrepresentations.

Great for Family Gathering

Our family of 7 adults and one four year old thoroughly enjoyed our spring break stay at Beach Haven on Tybee Island. The house is extremely comfortable and well maintained with fantastic access to a 3 mile long beach. We started each day with a beautiful view of the sunrise over the ocean and enjoyed walking and running on the beach, playing in the sand, and flying kites. We rented bicycles and got out to the parks and cafes on the Island. It was less than 30 minutes from the house to downtown Savannah, so very convenient for spending time in the city as well. We all agreed that we would love to come back another time.

Wonderful beach experience! Absolutely the best!

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Tybee Beach. Staying at Beach Haven only enhanced our experience. We walked the beach, rented bikes and searched and found geo caches! Pure bliss! The only bad part is leaving but that is bearable knowing we will return! Love Tybee and Beach Haven!

Nice beachfront stay

My sisters and mother stayed at this property in October. It is nicely furnished and had plenty of room for us. It is great having the ocean right out your back door. We did not cook at the property but it looked like the kitchen was well equipped, including new appliances. It is very easy to get to Savannah which was the purpose of our trip. The owner is very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone thinking of Tybee Island for a vacation.

Grannies get away

We are 8 senior women that get together once a year. This was the first time most of us have been on Tybee Island. We all loved it could not have had a better stay. The beds were very comfortable. The house was very clean and comfortable. One thing missing were dish cloths. Dish towels but could not find dish cloths. We would definitely recommend this great house. Susan was very responsive to all questions. We left a small gift from the grannies on the living room stand, a green magnet turtle. Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay, I am sure we will be back.
