About the property

5 BR, 3 Bath, 2 level house overlooking main lake

Enjoy our home with panoramic view of widest part of lake. You can relax either on the huge bilevel main deck behind house or on the roof deck of boat dock. We have 2 community boat ramps, as well as a pool, a playground, additional day slips for boat docking, and a club house within walking distance at the Wildwood community area (free for renters).

Our home is set up to accommodate families and lives large! There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom has a king bed and large sitting area in front of windows with view of lake, and the master bath has a soaking tub and separate shower. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, and there are 2 twins in 3rd BR.

The bottom floor has a queen and day bed in one BR and bunk beds (for kids only) plus a twin bed in another BR. There is a large game room on the bottom floor with fun bamboo tiki bar, table tennis, foosball, and a game table. Also on the bottom floor is a large media room with 58 inch flat screen smart HDTV. The house is ideally set up for 3 adult couples and the rest kids.

Sandy beach area with 4 kayaks and 3 paddleboards provided. Make family memories while paddling, boating, wakeboarding, skiing, and swimming in the lake right behind the house. See incredible sunsets while grilling out.

We can accommodate 1 boat in covered boathouse and tie off to cleats, no boat lift.

Only 1 boat allowed. The covered boat slip is 9 feet wide and 23 feet long.

Great central location on lake just around Wildwood Point from Lizard Creek. Near Goat Island (must do boat stop), Pea Hill Creek, Stonehouse Creek, and the Eaton Ferry Bridge.

Located in northeast quadrant so area conveniences within 1 mile include Food Lion, gas station, pharmacy, movie rental, restaurants, Ace Hardware, Dollar Store, NAPA auto, boat store, ABC, and drive through ice vending machine. Nearby are churches, a plant nursery, golf course, mini golf, Farmers Market, and flea market. Our house is a good base for a visit to Rosemont of Virginia Vineyards and Winery.

The house is directly across the lake from Stonehouse Timber Lodge Marina with ethanol free gas, boat rentals, and bait. It is a short boat or car ride to the Pointe Restaurant and Morningstar marina with docking, gazebo, and live music and the Waterview Restaurant (both with docking facilities).

The house has monday garbage pick-up with 2 trash bins. We also have spectrum cable bundle high speed wifi, tv, and landline phone. We have county water supply, so no smelly well water.

New to rental market in 2015; this will be our third rental year and we are consistently upgrading and adding features.

New for 2016: firepit in the backyard overlooking the lake, string lights above downstairs back porch under deck, railing on steps to lake.

New for 2017: rebuilt bulkhead and beach area, high speed internet wifi.

The house has a joyful feeling of being in the country away from it all with all the conveniences and luxuries of modern living: wifi, trash pickup, city water, cable tv, community pool (in season).

We are renting on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. Check in time is 1600.

Dogs are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee per dog. 2 dog limit unless alternate arrangement made with owners. No cats please.

This is our second home and we have set it up nicely. We are looking for renters who will treat this like their own home and take care of it; we in turn will provide the opportunity for a great wholesome family lake experience. This is not a fishing cabin or a fraternity type house.

We look forward to helping you have a great vacation with a turn key house, just drop the bags and relax.

When inquiring about a rental please provide information about intention to bring a dog (1 or 2), and boat and size of boat, and number of adults and children.

About John and Lori Janousek

We bought this house as a gathering place for our children in high school and college and our extended family, and as place to relax and get away from the stress of everyday life. We like to share our second home with others and hope to build relationships with renters who want to come back year after year.

John and Lori Janousek purchased this house in 2014

Why John and Lori Janousek chose Littleton

We've traveled to Lake Gaston for over 20 years while renting and visiting family. We have windsurfed, skied, fished and boated on the lake and finally decided to buy a house for ourselves. When we saw this view we knew we were home.

This property has a small sandy beach with sandy bottom area to swim. This is on the main lake so there are no weeds in the water and no hydrilla.

What makes this house unique

This neighborhood, Wildwood is one of the oldest and most established on the lake. It has community amenities including great community area within walking distance on fantastic elevated peninsula of land with pool, boat docking area, day slips, swimming area, playground, clubhouse, and great views. There are wonderful neighbors on either side of us and the house next door may also be available for rental for reunions or large parties.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to say thank you for allowing us to rent your home, we had a great weekend and really enjoyed the kayaks and beach with the kids. We look forward to going back again next year. Your house was so welcoming, we felt right at home when we entered the door. We really made some great memories (especially with the musical instruments - hopefully the neighbors didn't hear us!)

Kayaks and paddleboards on site; kept in rack at beach. Beach area is shared with house next door. Boat dock is a double; we own left half of dock. Renters can use covered boat slip and tie off, but not boat lift. Wind predominantly comes off lake towards back deck of house providing nice breeze and limiting bugs. Boat must be kept in our boathouse not tied to side dock or on beach. Do not interfere with neighbors docks or slips please, only use our kayaks and SUPs in our rack. Boat slip is 9 feet wide and 23 feet long. Massage therapist nearby. Lake Gaston Golf Club and Rosemont Vineyards are close by. Neighborhood common area with playground, pool, boat docking, and additional swimming area is an easy walk of two hundred yards to end of club road at point. Our asphalt driveway slopes down a hill to the house.

Hit the jackpot!

Very welcoming home. Clean, bright, comfortable. Plenty of room for family to spread out. Incredible views. Best sunset view is two minute cruise to middle of lake. We felt we were always near the water. Getting boat in the water is easy in neighborhood and boat house worked well for daily water fun. Home had everything we needed and more.

A great house with a lot of space. Loved the lake, community pool and activities in the house. A nearby grocery and hardware stores made the stay easier.

Excellent family vacation spot on Lake Gaston

  • 5 of 5

Great family vacation spot! Things to love: very well cared for house, outdoor lighting for evening fun with a great fire pit, perfect dock/deck for lakeside play/relaxation with plenty of kayaks, etc., fantastic playroom for family ping pong tournaments or media room for the movie/technology folks, well stocked book shelves (have to view the Alaska pics), everything you need in the kitchen including an expanding kitchen table (seats plenty), walk to community picnic spot for fishing, etc., and smooth hills for your skateboarding crew. Location was also close to grocery, boat rentals, and putt putt...Overall, a perfect fit for the family. Thanks John for being so responsive and can't wait to rent again! -- Kevin & Tricia

Beautiful lakeside home.

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful holiday weekend at this property. We all enjoyed swimming at the nice little beach. Several of us tried the standup paddleboard which was easier than we thought. Also enjoyed the kayak. We had a couple nights at the new campfire pit which is a nice addition. The house had everything we needed and was quite comfortable.

Lots of space and beautiful views.

  • 5 of 5

John and Lori were extremely helpful with info about their home and places to visit. Lots of perks, only problem we had was the amount of stairs. Inside and out there are stairs. We had small children and my 87 year old mother. Overall it was a beautiful, comfortable and well equipped home. Thanks John and Lori.
