Baker House has a very interesting Civil War history - ask us about it! The Waterfront boat ramp is just a couple of hundred yards to our south with most other lake Guntersville boat ramps located just minutes away.
Baker House is one of 4 cabins that sit on 2 beautiful acres with multiple access points making it easy to enter/exit the property. Every cabin has covered parking with power to charge batteries for at least 2 boats with plenty of additional parking available.
D&E Landing can meet your needs whether you have 2 or 32 in your group! Lake Guntersville is a fantastic place to fish or just relax for a few days, a week or more.
David & Edna own and operate every aspect of the property including doing all the cleaning ourselves. You will not find cleaner lodging at the lake! Come stay with us and explore all that North East Alabama has to offer.
D & E Landing, LLC is named after us, David and Edna. The name came to Edna literally as we were signing the documents to purchase the property.
Edna's a native Alabamian who grew up in Phenix City. David grew up outside of Boston but found his way to Alabama in the middle 80's. We fell in love with Northeast Alabama after spending 4 years outside of Gadsden before moving to Memphis, TN for 20 years.
Lake Guntersville called us a few years ago and we decided it was time to go home permanently! We are, like many couples in Alabama, a house divided. Edna's the Alabama football fan and David'd the Auburn fan. Iron bowl Saturdays are always interesting around our house!
David hunts and fishes the area and is always happy to help with any information you need. Edna's a shopper, and will guide you to every place within 60 miles to get a bargain on almost anything! Between us we've got you covered.
We both love to meet people, make new friends and serve our guests. We believe in delivering the maximum value for your dollar and will do whatever it takes to ensure you have a fantastic time at Lake Guntersville and in the Northeast Alabama area!
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything at all - we're here to help!
David & Edna purchased this cabin in 2013
Baker House is located mid-lake on Highway 79 making it an easy drive to most of the boat ramps on the lake. If you're not a fisherman, you'll only have a short drive to Guntersville, Scottsboro or Huntsville. There you'll find plenty of activities to choose from including:
- Fantastic shopping in all these locations (just ask Edna)
- Cathedral Caverns
- Hiking at the State Park
- Space and Rocket Center
- Lake City Amusement Park (opening April 2016)
- Many golfing opportunities including 2 Robert Trent Jones Trail courses
Our property sits on 2 beautiful acres with great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
There are 4 different driveways making it very easy to enter, exit and move around if you have a boat or trailer. Every cabin has covered parking for at least 2 boats/vehicles with power to charge you batteries and there's no need to unhook. We have plenty of additional parking with power available at every cabin as well.
You will not find cleaner lodging anywhere at the lake as Edna and David take care of everything at the property personally. We live in Guntersville and are always available should you need anything at all!
This was our very first family vacation, and our very first long trip with our 4 month old daughter. When we arrived, David and Edna were waiting at the Baker House for us. They instantly welcomed us with huge, open arms. Edna played and held our daughter like she was one of her grandkids.
The house was extremely clean, and everything was in working order. Unfortunately, we had to leave early due to major floods in our hometown and flooding in our house. David and Edna followed up with us to make sure everything was okay at home.
Having someone that genuinely cares about your well being and your enjoyment means so much to a vacation experience. David and Edna went out of their way to make things comfortable for us.
We will definitely be back!
We came to the Guntersville area looking for real estate as we are transferring with our company. Dave was so helpful even before we arrived, I asked if he could locate 2 crates for my dogs so I wouldn't have to haul mine down there, he was more than happy to look around, but I ended up just buying some that collapsed. Dave stopped by the first night to see if we needed anything and offered to hook us up with his realtor, that was a big help as we are not from the area, we are from Minnesota. We will stay here again next time we come down. I recommend going out into the lake, it's very cool. If you don't bring a boat, like us, rent one from GBM. We finally met Edna in our last day, and just like we imagined, she was lovely and very nice to talk to. Stay here and you will be treated like an old friend!
We had a great Mother's Day weekend get away. The cabin is big, clean and comfortable. It is in a great location. My husband and son fished every morning and afternoon. Due to the location of the cabin they were able to put in the boat at the boat ramp across the road or were able to drive a short ways in either direction to put in. The kitchen has everything you may need for your stay. We will definitely be back. Oh and the price is reasonable too!
We had a great week of fishing with the family in Guntersville. The cabins are awesome. Very comfortable and in a great location. The owners are very nice people and do a great job taking care of the property. I would definitely recommend them. We'll definitely be back...Joe
We went for fishing and visiting with family. This cabin is large, clean and well stocked with eveything you should need..no need to pack up your house. Dog friendly for our lab...the owners are very nice and not intrusive. Will definitely come again..Mel
We had a lot of family visiting us at the Baker House during the holidays. There is a lot of room for people to sit and enjoy time. Kitchen is well stocked as well as the rest of the house.
Owners check in to make sure all is well and nothing is needed.
This was by far the best VRBO experience I've ever had. The cottage was extremely clean, and Dave was very hospitable. He came by to meet us personally, and there were no extra or hidden fees in the nightly rate. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a quiet, clean, restful stay 'away from it all.'
