About Brock Anstine

We met in Virginia Beach, Virginia, married, and moved to Albuquerque, NM. Our love of the Southwest has only grown over the years but we knew that someday we would want to be somewhere close to the water again. Several years ago, friends brought us to Puerto Penasco and we spent the weekend looking at all resorts here on Sandy Beach. We had never been to Rocky Point before but ended up buying that weekend! That experience

was many, many sunsets and moons ago and we love it here. We hope that your time here on the incredible Sea of Cortez will result in wonderful memories for you as it has for us! Albuquerque is still our home with spectacular sunsets but Puerto Penasco has surely tied for first place with awesome photography opportunities of sunsets as well!

Notes:
Spa is located on the second story level in the Phase II lobby building......massage, pedicure, manicure, and facials. Wedding planner on site. La Marias restaurant in Phase I is open in high season. Citron fine dining restaurant in Phase II. Pool side bar/restaurant both phases. Wonderful bellhops available to help upon your arrival or departure or set up on the beach of your chairs and umbrellas. We have two folding beach chairs in the hallway closet.

Honeymoon delight

For a few days in June, the universe slowed down a bit, or so it seemed, as we experienced a relaxing and exciting time. We stayed at Terry and Mary's one bedroom condo at the Las Palomas Resort.

The condo was perfect for two people. We really enjoyed the balcony that overlooked the sea, both in the early morning and as the sun sought the horizon in the evening. The owners have gone far and above the norm to make sure that whatever you might 'reach for' was there. We cooked in a lot. Fresh jumbo shrimp just off the boats, local vegetables and fruit offered us an alternative to the many crowded and expensive restaurants.

Although it was not our honeymoon, it felt like it.

SKIP UNIT OVER PRICED UNIT FOR THE MONEY

A very rocky road from the beginning found this unit to be below average. LOVE Los Palomas Beach and Golf Resort Phase II , but this unit needs improvements. KITCHEN area frequently used items where not stocked as they should or did not work for example lighter to start the gas grill, paper towls rolls are not at your disposal and in fact limited on hand not enough to last you a day. kitchen soap dispenser not functioning. BATHROOM area was not stocked with proper number of towls for 4 guest also soap and shampoo was limited on hand. Be ready for a slow shower water pressure is a luxury as well shower head is Extra Eco friendly. Did not expect to have to call house keeping in the first HR we arrived. BAD MANAGEMENT I found Brock to be misleading and dishonest about this property

Owner's Response: Rocky road......wow. During our previous conversation at the end of your stay, your comment was that you "loved" the condo and wanted to reserve again in June! Our prior reviews are testaments to the excellence in which we take care of this property and invest in items that are not requirements but items that we know will make one's stay more enjoyable AND our kitchen set up has always gotten rave reviews because of this. The gas grills have push lighter mechanisms. The flick lighter as well as matches were placed in the condo from the days of guests having to call CS for someone to come light the grills. The placement of the flick lighter and the matches in the kitchen drawer were to allow for the more efficient use of the grills in the event that CS was extremely busy on any given day and therefore an employee could not arrive at the grilling area in what a guest would describe as in a timely manner. Paper towels, bathroom towels, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen towels , soap dispenser soap, bath soap, dish soap, and dishwasher tabs are all provided by the resort. The guest just has to dial "0" on the condo phone and let CS know of what is needed. Also, if anything is not working, a guest simply dials "0" and lets CS know so that maintenance can address the issue. The "eco friendly" shower head provides not only a great and above adequate shower but allows for conscientious observance of water use. "Water pressure" concern could be a result of high occupancy at the resort and another issue that could have been addressed by contacting CS. We provide many "extras" in our properties that are NOT requirements of the rental pool per their guidelines.......spices, laundry soap and dryer sheets, tin foil, crock pot, cooking items, music CDs, movies, literature and books, games, sand toys, children's books, drinking straws, and more. Our 5 star reviews indicate the experiences from prior guests completely opposite of this review. This condo is and has been in the official LP rental pool from the beginning of our ownership and guidelines are followed ..... especially rate structure and rules for appropriate renting of property on the resort. We DO NOT rent outside of these guidelines. Rates vary based upon many factors which are explained in conversations to our guests. Any behavior from any guest in an effort to manipulate the guidelines and rules of the resort and the appropriate rental of our condos will result in the reporting of such to those who govern.

Beautiful beach view

Such a wonderful vacation. This room was gorgeous. 3 of us stayed and had plenty of room. The pull out sofa was super comfortable, and the view from the patio was AMAZING. We sat out on the patio each nigh just listening to the waves. We were close to the pool and the ocean. We couldn't have chose a better space.

Amazing accommodations, Amazing owner and Property manager!! Room had everything you needed!!!

Even with last minute change they accommodated me and let me move it to a later date.. The property manager answered my texts within an hour of asking a question.. First time in Rocky Pointe and now I have high expectations, because of this room, owner and property manager..

Enjoy local activities like the snorkeling/scuba trip to Bird Island, the Pinacate Biosphere, or take whale watching tours. Also, visit the oyster farm, go sand dollar hunting in Cholla Bay at low tide, shop in Old Port or Cholla Mall, enjoy great photography moments, sailing, sunset cruises, fabulous restaurants. ATVs can be rented at various locations within the town as well as ultra-lights and para-sailing. Horseback rides, tours of the town, fishing trips, day trip to El Golfo de Santa Clara and so much more to enjoy here in this seaside town. Visits to local bakeries are a must with their homemade cakes, donuts, and pies......absolutely incredible!! The hike around Competition Mountain in Cholla Bay is a spectacular journey with beautiful views of the Sea from the rocky cliffs above.

Lounge in a hammock here at the resort, stroll on the beach, enjoy

the many pools and lazy river and hot tubs, enjoy the sound of the surf while snoozing under a beach palapa, enjoy a massage from one of several therapists along the beach or work out at the on-site

gym in Phase I. Gaze at the stars, enjoy a movie in town at the cinema, beach comb on Shell Beach in the Playa Encanto area, or sip a cool drink at various lounging areas in the resort........amazing times to enjoy and remember!
