Cozy little hideaway
I had booked this as a romantic getaway for my partner and I . . . lo and behold, we split up the week of the trip. So me and two of my best girlfriends decided to squeeze ourselves into the cabin with copious amounts of good food and wine and have a self care weekend. It is definitely a cabin for two but we were cozy and happy in the space and really enjoyed our stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the soaker tub on the deck was an absolute delight on a cold autumn night and we were able to prepare some great meals in the little kitchen. Waking up in the morning and watching the curious sea lion (who visited frequently) from the deck while sipping tea was wonderful. Having breakfast items provided (eggs and English muffins) was a thoughtful and appreciated touch.
The only minor things I would have liked are a few more pantry essentials such as salt and pepper shakers instead of the tiny single use packets and a bottle of olive oil for cooking.
There is some sort of processing plant next door and while you can hear it from outside, it's fairly unobtrusive and we honestly weren't bothered by it.
I would definitely recommend this spot and would come back myself, hopefully under happier circumstances next time ;-)
That explains it going from a couple to 3 girlfriends! We never allow 3 people in our cabins because they are so small (babies & pets are welcome though), but you seemed convinced you could make it work with an air mattress so I let the booking stand. Next time there are 3 of you try our suite -- it's much larger!
We aren't allowed to provide any food items that could be tampered with by a previous guest (meaning adding drugs or some other nasty substance), such as salt & pepper shakers, jars of jam, a bowl of sugar, a jar of coffee, etc. That's why everything is in single use packets; sorry that's Tourism BC's rules. Even an opened bottle of olive oil would not be permitted; pretty stiff rules but they are in place to protect visitors from becoming ill. Our local co-op store does stock everything you would need to cook a meal though :)
Why do reviews always have to have a title?
Very cute and cozy. A place for everything and everything in its place. We enjoyed our stay and for sure would come back.
Thanks for your review! We try to provide everything we think our guests might need, albeit in a small space when it comes to the two cabins. Our one-bedroom suite is much more spacious and it is also listed on VRBO, if you'd like to try that one next time!
Beautiful and private
Everything was great! Hosts very helpful. Cabin is small and very cozy. Loved the tub outside. Great stay!
Thanks for your review! The two cabins are literally a stone's throw away from the water, especially at high tide!
Lovely property. The cabin was small but there was enough room for me, my dog and his enormous bed. The fenced porch was really nice for the dog. We enjoyed the beach and the tranquility of the area.
Thanks for your review! We pride ourselves on being very pet-friendly, and the SPCA really appreciates us donating 100% of our pet fees to them!
Private and pet friendly
private and cozy, though we didn’t bring our dogs we think the fenced deck and our cabin would have been perfect!
Thanks for your review! We do pride ourselves on being very pet-friendly, and we donate 100% of our pet fees to the Port Alberni SPCA!
Wonderful slice of Ucluelet living
I loved everything about the cabin and property. Marilyn and Lance were wonderful hosts as was Ty. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to return! A lovely touch was the fact that the cabin was stocked with breakfast items for those who hadn't shopped yet on arrival. View from deck was awesome, able to watch an otter family, seals, lots of birds and boaters, kayakers, fishing vessels. Will not hesitate to recommend this lovely spot to friends!
Thanks for your review! Fall can be such a lovely time of year here on the coast -- not quite as busy as summer and yet some great weather & lots of wildlife (our resident sea lions are gone to California all summer but return here mid September). Hope we can welcome you back again some time!
