we had an awesome stay. plenty of room for our family of 18. the kids loved the back yard and fishing from the dock. saw deer everyday. the house has everything you need. a couple of things to know- the house itself is fine for people with mobility issues but it is a long walk to the water and also know that the laundry room is in the master bedroom. would definitely stay here again!!

We visited Driftwood Retreat for a family reunion and was not disappointed. There was plenty of space for all of us. Having 2 refrigerators and all the kitchen necessities was great. Beds were super comfortable and plenty of additional pillows and blankets. We were greeted each evening by deer and even had a raccoon pay us a visit. We rented a Pontoon boat and the Marina was only a 20 minute drive. Would definately recommend.

The house and property were really beautiful. The rooms were nice sized and furnished nicely. The only problem was we were all older and the accessibility was more designed for younger folks.

It’s a beautiful property with plenty of towels etc. The ice maker would only make a few ice cubes

We enjoyed the wildlife and the amount of space. The water was very shallow there and hard for boating. We were put off by paying such a high cleaning fee then being asked to wash and put away dishes, sheets and wash towels. We have scheduled another place for next year because of that. BUT we did enjoy the property.

Everything was pretty good.

Overall it was nice. Had problem with main suite TV. Personally, if there was a storm and I knew there may have been electricity off, I would have checked the property. I think that was the situation at the dock. Should have been checked. Also, no way we could get our boat down the drive.

Great Property

This was exactly what we were looking for! We had 4 families (16 people total) and had plenty of room in the house. We swam right off the dock, hung around the fire pit, enjoyed the covered porch in the rain, appreciated the cleanliness of the hot tub and the fact that there was a flat area in front of the house for yard games. Just be aware that it’s a steep driveway and the walk to the dock can be challenging for people with mobility issues, but these things were not a problem for any of the guests during our stay. Loved seeing all of the deer and we already began discussing plans to come back. Definitely a great find!

Fun Family Valley

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The house is very roomy with plenty of outdoor areas for entertainment. The kids we so excited about seeing so much wildlife in the back area. I would recommend this property to any one wanting a fun, yet relaxing vacation!

We had a great stay and the house could accommodate our large family of almost 20! Beautiful scenery and so private. The only criticism I have is that the property can sleep 20, but there were certain things that couldn’t accommodated 20 people (like enough silverware). Also, checkout requirements were a bit stressful for a large party (like all the towels must be washed). Overall a wonderful stay!

Beautiful property!

Stayed here with three other families and had a great time! Plenty of space to spread out. Great deck space. Fully stocked and huge kitchen. Never ran out of hot water for showers even with 15 people! Plenty of towels, blanket and pillows. Boat dock was brand new and huge. The deer in the yard was so cool! Driveway very steep but plenty of car parking spots.

Loved this getaway!

We did a 14 person getaway trip for the weekend with the whole family. The house was in a wonderful location, with deer and squirrels in abundance. We use the fire pit two nights in a row. The grill was one of the Nicer charcoal grills that we’ve seen at a property. The house was very roomy. The pool table was in good shape. The DIRECTV, what little bit we used, worked really well. Plenty of room in the refrigerators. We never really ran out of hot water. For the most part, the beds are pretty comfortable, and the pillows were wonderful. The only drawback is the fact that they wanted all of the dishes done and put away, and you couldn’t leave until the towels were put in the dryer. It’s pretty difficult to get all of that done on the morning you’re supposed to leave. However, we did it. It was a wonderful place and no one really wanted to leave.

Christmas in October family party

This beautiful big home was perfect for our big family to gather at. The 2 levels gave everyone space, the huge decks were lovely to sit and visit, watch the many deer in the yard, view sunsets from. Whitney answered all my inquiries in a timely manner. She even had a new load of firewood delivered since I told her we loved evening fires. The kitchen was amazing with everything you needed for cooking and some nice pantry staples. The house was very well insulated and there was no noise from other rooms. We all enjoyed the views, the lake, playing pool, the hot tub. Even with the fall drawdown of the lake level Whitney mentioned we could maybe launch kayaked from the shore . So we brought ours with us and used the one at the house and the young adults had a blast paddling the lake. At one point we had 7 rigs parked in the space by the house as 4 from our family just joined us for the day. So there is ample room for a crowd. Beds were comfy and lots of blankets, and plenty of towels etc clean and ready to use. The washer/dryer were very efficient and always a plus to have available . Guys enjoyed being able to watch a football game on tv that had lots of channels available. None of us left to go anywhere there was so much to do right there at this beautiful property for our long weekend together.

Quiet and Secluded

We loved our stay at Driftwood! There were 8 adults and we found the house to have plenty of space to cook, eat, play games, and relax. The deer come right up to the house here! You may wish to note that the driveway is very steep and the roads leading to the house are curvy. The host was great, she answered all of my questions quickly.

Good place

Host very responsive. Overall we were very happy with the accommodations. The property is quite steep. Parking is fine for several cars. Walking up and down to lake is very challenging for anyone not in good shape. Elderly family member was restricted on movement due to steepness. Loved the numerous bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was adequately supplied. Master suite was very suitable. Bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, bathing supplies and laundry soap. adequately secluded but helpful neighbor. Lots of deer. second refrigerator was a huge help. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle on decks. We enjoyed our stay and would reccommend.

*Great place!

Love your VRBO. Everything was great. Lots of kitchen stuff, lots of bedding, lots of towels, our family of 16 had plenty of room, even to all sit down and eat together. Everything needed for the campfire, including roasting utensils. Driveway is steep, deer is plentiful. The dock is great to have. Rented a double decker pontoon and a jet ski. We had a great time making memories in this place, went to the beach one day also.

Driftwood Retreat

Our family gathered here for a weekend. We're from Missouri, Tennessee, and Georgia...so getting to see each other is difficult. The house was perfect for accommodating seven adults and three children. Everything was spotless. The kids enjoyed the lake while one son caught three gigantic catfish!! We will definitely be returning! Thanks so much! accommodating .

Perfect location

First I want to start with what a beautiful location! The deer presence is heavy and the water is perfect. This place has plenty of space for MANY people. We brought our boat down and used the dock which was very handy! The place has some plumbing issues. The primary bathroom toilet leaked around the base the entire time. It also is in desperate need of a deep clean. It was dirty. Hair in the couches, mold in the showers, etc. Very well stocked for any meals you may want to cook though!! I do suggest a gas grill. Great place for family fun!

Our multi-generational group of grandparents, parents, and grandchildren had a great time at this property. The large gathering area had plenty of room for playing games and eating for our party of 17. Many started each day with fishing off the dock giving some of our grandkids their first chance to reel one in! We brought a lauching pad for the kids to jump on in the water and they loved that. The kitchen was stocked very well and we used it a lot. We loved watching the deer from the deck too. Whitney, the host, was very responsive to texts. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the opportunity for us to be together in one space!

Was a very nice property. Didn’t realize too get to water their was such a long hill. I’m in wheelchair and only once was I able to get with help down to water. Steep driveway as well, should let guests know there cars should be 4 wheel drive. Obviously we were in the woods, an outlet on the deck would be nice for a blue light to draw bugs away. Every morning we had to sweep away dead bugs by the sliding doors, blue lights keep bugs away from inside the home.Did get an email about lawn people coming but got while they were mowing. Thank goodness all of us were up. No locks on basement doors. Cottage does need some work done as far as painting, caulking. We did enjoy the 2 refrigerators as we keep all children drinks in one and a twelve pack of beer , with 2 bottles of wine in the other

We loved sharing our home (Edgewater Retreat) . Our guest said that they loved our home and enjoyed working with us. They were not happy because it stayed booked all the time. They kept wanting time that we didn't have open. This home Driftwood came open and was near our other one. So we took it on in order to try to help our guest that wanted to come back for a visit.
We are so excited with Driftwood.
We just love meeting and sharing our homes with our guest.
Its nice to help make family memories .

Driftwood is a nice size home and near our home Edgewater Retreat. It sits on the water so you have easy access to the water. Its secluded and makes for a great get away.
Most of our guest come and meet up with other family members to have
a reunion . So with the size of Driftwood it works very well.
