The Apollo is located on Marco's beautiful South Beach. View Florida's beautiful sunsets from your private balcony. Dolphins swim, pelicans dive and gulls populate the beachfront. Unit 405 has one bedroom, one bath, a kitchenette, cable TV and internet. The Apollo hosts the Sunset Grill where you may watch the sun set while dining. An exercise room is available and under-roof parking is provided for guests. Tennis courts are also available. The Apollo pool is large and heated, and a Jacuzzi is available.

About Stephen & Rossana Wheelock

We have been visiting Marco Island since the 1980's and love it. We are both retired; my husband from the U.S. Department of State and I from a small furniture business. Marco Island is our second home and we always love coming here to enjoy the island atmosphere and sunshine.

Why Stephen & Rossana Wheelock chose Marco Island

Apollo 405, one of the middle units, offers a bit more balcony privacy because it is walled on both sides. The 4th flooor level a commanding view of the beach and Gulf without the detached feeling that the higher levels may impart. Rossana enjoys decorating and has designed the unit to combine the sensation of being at home and also on a tropical vacation. We offer WiFi in the apartment (access code needed and provided) and standard cable TV channels.

The beach in front of the Apollo is located at the very south tip of Marco Beach and is unique in several ways. First, there are rocks that break up the erosion and offer a change of view, fishing points and sites where birds gather to seek food. On very low tide days, one may walk further down and see views of the 10,000 islands. The beach is amply sized and one is assured of finding a quiet area to enjoy the sun.

What makes this condo unique

The location is good for those who may wish to fish from the shore, the beach is home to a variety of birdlife, fish, dolphins and others and offers spectacular views of the Gulf and beach. Weddings are sometimes performed on the beach and yoga classes are also offered daily. Marco Island has a wonderful library, YMCA, mini-golf, medical and shopping.

This is our second trip to a condominium in the Apollo. We're as delighted with this stay as with our first. The unit we stayed in was comfortable, charming, and quiet. The owner even made the extra effort of having beach toys available for anyone who had brought kids along. Not something we used, but it showed the kind of effort they made to make their guests feel comfortable.

Outside, the beach on Marco Island is absolutely incomparable--a broad expanse of clean, soft white sand with better shelling than Sanibel or Captiva.

Great Locations

The condo was very nicely decorated. Great location and beautiful views of sunset. The beach equipment was greatly appreciated. Gorgeous beach. We overall had a wonderful stay.

Just a few small suggestions to make future renters stay more pleasing: Compared to other condos we have rented through VRBO, the check in was cumbersome. We were demanded to show a contract before we could receive our parking pass which we did not have. Fortunately, we were able to reach you by telephone for verification. We were charged for parking which was never disclosed, the description for this unit says NO EXTRA FEES. In addition, it would have been nice to have been provided with more than a half box of tissues, two small rolls of toilet paper and no extra garbage bags.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review. I’m happy to hear that there are things about our apartment that you enjoyed. Very sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the parking fee and toiletries . Please read under notes in the rates section that there is a $25.00 per stay parking fee that the Apollo building collects and a refundable $75 for the fob. Always bring a copy of your rental agreement with you please. I provide my unit with essentials to start your vacation including toilet paper (2 rolls), Kleenex, hand and bath soap. For the kitchen, dishwasher and dish soap, sponge, paper towels and trash bags. Choosing what to put into our apartment can be a complex decision, but our primary goal is always whether it will please our guests. We will certainly be considering this feedback going forward as we continue to make upgrades to our apartment. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions.

Endless beach walking

We loved this unit, its location and the excellent view. What we also discovered while walking the beach is all the cool hotel hang outs, for food and drink. Having the access so easy made it a great eating and drinking adventure. I might add we were lucky ones that got to escape the really cold temps from home.

Great location!!!!

Very nice and clean apartment. Well maintained. It's right on the beach and close to everything.

Great spot for vacation with a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. Next time we are planning on coming to Marco we will make arrangements for this apartment:)

Wonderful Vacation

We stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary, and it was perfect! The view was stunning, the decor was beautiful and nicely updated, and the staff at both Berkshire, who handled the rental, and at the Apollo, where the unit was, were excellent. We would definitely stay here in the future!

Parking. Currently parking is charged for all guests of the Apollo. The parking fee is $25 for your stay, plus a $75 refundable deposit for the FOB. The Apollo staff will be glad to answer any questions you may have about this system.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
