A queen Murphy bed with the same comfortable queen mattress as the bed in the bedroom is cleverly disguised as a bookcase. The beautiful window and door casings and trim were all handcrafted by the owner.

Outside, the covered deck overlooks a huge lawn sloping down to the river. Included on the deck are a gas BBQ and large Jacuzzi hot tub. There is a fire pit just for the use of this cabin just below the deck.

About Brenda Connely

We are Ted and Brenda Connely. Brenda grew up in Forks. Ted moved from Nebraska to Port Angeles is 1976. We were living in Port Angeles when we found this property. A friend mentioned it might be available. It had an old house sadly in need of love. A garage looking like it would go over in the next strong wind sat where Riversong sits today. We spent several years fixing up the old house, which is now our Cedarbreeze cabin. We burned down the old garage before it fell down and had a garden in its place one year. One spring morning the next year, Brenda told Ted she had arranged for a man to come with a tractor and rototill the garden space that day. When she got home a foundation had been dug instead. That tractor had a backhoe on it. Ted said I need a shop. Brenda said we don't even live here full time. He said, well, we might. And he was right. A couple of years later Brenda came home from work in Port Angeles packing Sam the cat and said to Ted, 'We live here now, we're always here anyway.' So the house in Port Angeles was sold and we all lived happily in the old house on the river, and Ted enjoyed his shop, but after several long wet winters we decided to buy a larger home closer to Forks. Still on the river but not as special. We couldn't bring ourselves to sell the Riverside place, so we started renting the old house and the guest room we had built above the garage as vacation rentals. We had so many bookings we decided to turn Ted's former shop into another cabin. And that is how Riversong came to be.

Brenda Connely purchased this cottage in 1995

Why Brenda Connely chose Clallam County

Even though the property was all grown up with weeds and brush and the old house was very run down, we knew at first sight this was our place. The sparkling river running along the edge of the yard, the golden light coming through the trees, just the peaceful feel of the place. Many guests have used the word 'magical' to describe their feeling about the place.

What makes this cottage unique

We originally bought this property for our own vacation home with no thought of its potential as a vacation rental property. But not only is it a beautiful, relaxing, welcoming spot to stay, it is very handily located within an hour's drive of nearly all the attractions of the northwest section of Olympic National Park. Many guest comment on what a great base camp it is for seeing the park. We have often heard how nice it is to come home to after a day of hiking and exploring to sit by the river, BBQ on the deck, soak in the hot tub, build a fire in the firepit, and sleep in the very comfortable beds.

The property is beautiful & in the perfect location for exploring ONP!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our breakfasts out on the porch — listening to the river & enjoying the view. The hot tub is awesome & the beds were comfy! We thought this place was perfectly in the right location for everything we wanted to explore within ONP. Easy driving to both Hurricane Ridge, but also not too bad for getting to Hoh Rain Forest & everything in-between. It was a great experience & we hope to go back sometime!

Perfect Peaceful Location

  • 5 of 5

This location is perfect for exploring Olympic while being able to come home to a peace and comfort. It had all the amenities necessary and then some. The hot tub was probably our favorite. We could listen to the river, watch the birds and chipmunks, and relax. It is so clean and we'll maintained throughout. We could have stayed so much longer!

Lovely cabin in a perfect location with all the luxuries!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with family for four nights. Love spending time here as much as we did exploring the peninsula! Cabin is very quaint, plenty of privacy, and has all the amenities one can think of for R&R. We also have a 2.5 year old who kept busy and entertained by the spacious "backyard" and the river behind the cabin. Would highly recommend to anyone, and would love to stay there again!

This property is a great base camp for exploring the north Peninsula area of Olympic National Park.

It is located just off Highway 101 ten miles southwest of Lake Crescent providing quick and easy access to Lake Crescent Lodge, Storm King Ranger Station, Marymere Falls, Eagle Peak Ranger Station and Sol Duc Falls with hiking trails continuing into the Olympics.

Heading east from the cabins, it's less than an hour's drive to the main Park visitor center in Port Angeles, Hurricane Ridge, and the ferry to Victoria, British Columbia.

West from the cabins 8 miles is the junction of Hwy 113 which will take you to the Lake Ozette Ranger Station and the loop trail to the ocean at Ozette, the Makah Museum and Cape Flattery on the Makah Reservation. Shi Shi Beach on the Makah reservation is one of the most beautiful and remote beaches on the west coast.

Continuing from the cabins on 101 past the 113 junction for 9 miles will take you to Highway 110, (La Push road) providing access to 1st beach at La Push, the trailheads for Beach 2 and 3 and Rialto Beach across the Quillayute River.

Just past the 110 junction you will enter the town of Forks which provides shopping, restaurants, and Twilight attractions. Continuing south from Forks for 12 miles will take you to the access road for Hoh Rain Forest visitor center with miles of hiking rails. Another 25 miles south on 101 you will find Kalaloch Lodge perched on the bluff above miles of beautiful sandy beaches. There are many access points to this stretch of beach.

Many guests have told us how nice it is to come back to our cabins after a day of hiking and exploring to sit by the river, BBQ on the decks or soak in the hot tubs.
