About Cindy Lee
Hi! Thanks for visiting our site! I'm a real estate agent with Ocean Realty. Not much better than living on a sandbar! - Unless you're in the Caribbean! Come visit!
Why Cindy Lee chose Willoughby Spit
DIrect beachfront! We have a unique beach. It is about 9 miles long but there is only one section that has public parking. That makes the beach nice and open. There are rarely any crowds. You can see dolphins, eagles, Navy ships, sailboats, cargo ships, fish, shells. Come visit!

We loved this beach. Very quiet, secluded with very friendly people. The porch was amazing! We could wake up and watch the beautiful sunrises. I was able to read a novel and really relax. Owners were friendly and very accommodating. They let us check in early with our very tired grandson. There were a couple of things I would change. Beds were very bouncy except for the inlaw suite. We let our son, who was on California time, sleep downstairs. He couldnt have been more happier. Downstairs was very private, dark and quiet. The rest of the family was upstairs which was very open and lighted. I would try to make a few changes to make it more kid friendly. We put the coffee table back in one of the bedrooms because of the dangerous corners. I would also put a chain or upper lock on front door to keep small children from walking out the door. Bathroom door lock not working. A couple embarrassing moments with the 3 year old walking in. I would also hang hooks in bathroom to accommodate wet towels. One last thing I would fix. I would install an outdoor shower. There was a outdoor hose but it wasn't near the steps that led to the porch that led to front door. I was sweeping sand constantly from the porch trying to keep it from the house. Our solution was to fill up the baby pool and dip our feet into the water before we made our way up the steps. There were plenty of beach toys. The kayaks were a blast. We were able to put a large tent up and spend the day at the beach. So we're so close to the house that if we needed something we could walk and go get it.. We researched our restaurants on yelp. Everyone took turns and chose their favorite. Avoid tunnels at all cost during rush hours. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would choose this area again.
Great for little kids!
The house is two levels with separate entries. The sheets on bed were delicious, silky and smooth. The bed was a little saggy. Not a towel bar to be had. One hook on bathroom door. Mirrors were scarce and the only one in a bedroom was not over the dresser - odd and not useful. The kitchen had a coffee maker, toaster and really nice pots and pans. There was a small washer and dryer. It was stocked with a couple rolls of toilet tissue, paper towels, dishwasher pods, and dishwashing and hand soaps. The balcony off the kitchen was in the sun most of the time but the other covered deck/balcony was nice. We loved having direct access to the beach. And there was plenty of parking.
The bay side beach was perfect for my 3 and 5 year old grandchildren and it was not crowded!! Amazing!. We learned at the last moment that dogs are not allowed on beach. But we saw many dogs. MANY. Oddly, the cops had been running up and down the beach on their four wheelers and had not said a word and then our last day of the stay one cop decided to play the j@#k. Sorry that cops have to do that. Norfolk, please change your dog laws. At least allow leashed dogs for crying out loud.
All in all, this place was expensive, expensive. They do get you with the absurd prices. BUT it was a lovely vacay. Not touristy. No boardwalk. No vulgar T-shirts.
We also enjoyed the kayaks.
Please, Cindy, give us some towel bars and hooks, put in more mirrors and place them over dressers. The notebook with general info could be a lot more helpful: How to take out the trash. How to face the cans. Too hard to see the writing on the cans themselves when all printing is dark blue on a dark blue can and it is dark out.
But, all in all, I want to thank the owner, Cindy Lee for maintaining this place and allowing my family and dog to spend time there.
The house was great. Very clean and in a great location on the beach. Cindy Lee is great!
I recommend this house and would definitely stay there again.
Very cute and cozy. The location is perfect.
This property was perfect for us. Cindy Lee was very helpful and accommodating to us. If you need anything at all she will make it happen very quickly. The location was perfect, right on the beach but not many people around at all. Easy access to many activity and restaurants. The only negative things I can say is the bathroom door upstairs doesn't lock and the in law suite would have been a little easier if there was access from inside the main house. Over all we were very pleased and will return.
Wonderful beach house!
My family really enjoyed our stay at this house directly on the private beach. The view was fantastic and we had plenty of room for everybody. We brought our 2 dogs along this time and they enjoyed the nice beach too. Cindy responded very quickly when we couldn't find the life vests for the kayaks. Everything was clean and neat and my son even cooked on the gas grill some. We would definitely stay here again if we ever visit Virginia again.
A lovely cottage!
Just right for a spring break get away! The cottage is just steps away from the water, and we were able to enjoy it with our children and our two dogs. The house is decorated very nicely, and the water is visible from most of the windows. Perfect for some R&R by the water!
