This 1970's 1400 sq ft 2-level home was recently renovated with all the modern conveniences you need (satellite tv, dvd/blueray, high speed WIFI, washer & dryer, hair dryer, iron & board, kitchen appliances including dishwasher) and is perched on one of the best lake sites around. Quiet and serene, off the beaten path but just 7 easy miles south of Soldotna, we are mid-way between the Kenai and Kasilof rivers - both world class river fisheries, and a short scenic drive from Homer, Anchor River and other cook inlet salt water fishing charter ports.
The main floor has a comfortable queen bed in the master bedroom, a full bathroom, an open combo kitchen/dining/living area and deck, all with awesome lake view. Downstairs you'll find a bedroom with queen bed (with lake view), a half bathroom, and a large rec room, with table, chairs and twin beds. The upper deck has a gas barbeque grill. A short walk down the hill is the grassy lake shore, where you can hang out by the fire pit or paddle our canoe to fish and explore Hope Lake and through a short channel to a second smaller lake. Wildlife is abundant on and around our lake, and we can help you plan your adventures farther afield, including river and marine fishing charters, hiking, wildlife viewing, glacier/wildlife cruises and much more. Got fish? There's a great fish processing service right up the street to help you get them smoked and/or quick-frozen for the trip home.

About the owner: Suzy (Montessori teacher) and Bill (recently retired Wildlife Biologist/Pilot) moved here in 1984 with 5 kids, and the intervening years have spun by gloriously, with no regrets leaving the east coast. We fell in love with the dramatic Alaskan Landscape, its incredible wildlife, and its warm, energetic and diverse population. We often look at each other and chuckle at how lucky we were to find our perfect niche here on Lake Hope.
