About Jeff

My parents bought this apartment in 1961. I've lived in it during my studies and had the opportunity to experience some of the best years of my life in this neighborhood. I now share my live between my home in Paris and the U.S working in real estate. I love animals and small well-behaved doggies are welcome in the apartment.

Jeff purchased this apartment in 1961

Why Jeff chose Monnaie

It really is a 'secret' place in the heart of the city. The building was erected around 1760. Some original features in the apartment date back to the construction days, such as an old wooden beam on which a carpenter practiced his talent. When the windows are open, you can hear the bells of Notre-Dame in the distance.

A security safe in the wall is available.

What makes this apartment unique

Just so central.

You can get anywhere in a matter of minutes.

The architect who designed the Louvre pyramid lived in this building two floors above while the works were in progress.

Private, centrally located and comfortable apartment

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here a week and found the apartment very comfortable and ideally located for the four of us. In spite of being in the middle of the city, it has zero traffic noise. Restaurants, transportation, walking around, ambiance, etc are all five stars. Steven, our greeter, met us at the location and did an excellent job stepping us through all the ins and outs of the apartment. The WiFi was solid and the washer/dryer unit was clean and functional. The two kids loved the loft area above the kitchen. All the local restaurant recommendations were dead-on fantastic and/or charming. We'd definitely choose to stay here again.

The only reasons I cannot give it 5 stars are the following: 1) Be aware that there is major remodelling/construction work going on within or next to the building from 8am to 6pm every day except weekends. While it did not affect our sleep, it wasn't comfortable to remain in the apartment during the day because of the construction noise. 2) The apartment is on the ground floor 15 feet away from the building's garbage bins, and the sound from neighbors dropping off their glass recyclables in the early morning can be jarring and 3) The shower drain is clogged (we had to get around this by taking "military" showers to allow the water to slowly drain). These items did not seriously affect our enjoyment of the apartment, but anyone considering staying here should ask if #1 and #3 remain a concern.

Charming, Efficient and Perfectly located in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect! Fantastic location. Quiet and super clean. Plenty of towels and useful appliances. Steven, the manager, met us at the apartment and patiently explained how everything works and where to buy amazing food. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to family emergency at home. Steven was very helpful in arranging for a taxi to get us to the airport. My husband & I travel frequently and have stayed in many very nice hotels but I have to say that we did not miss any of them during our stay in Jeff's apartment. We loved it!

A wonderful pied a terre in Paris

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is perfect for visiting Paris. The location couldn't be better, the quiet is unusual in the middle of the city, and the comfort of the apartment is excellent. It's absolutely perfect for two people, or for a couple who have children to use the loft. We will be back!

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The Latin Quarter/St Germaine area is a great area to locate yourself when staying Paris on vacation. It's close to the main attractions and sites you want to visit and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a few steps. The place is small but quite comfortable for two people. It's also very quiet. It's well kept and was really nice and clean when we moved in.

Our host, Steven, was great. He knows the local area and Paris overall very well and is very helpful, especially if you haven't visited Paris before.

Bears in Paris

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is so comfortable, well appointed, and in a great location conveniently positioned to walking Blvd Saint Germain, Saint Michel and even a short distance to Notre Dame and the Ile de Cite. Metro lines are a block away. Steven was wonderful to work with and was very helpful. Rue Suger is a very quiet street just away from all the hustle and bustle Paris has to offer. C'est bon!

Checks off all the boxes

  • 5 of 5

Great location that is super convenient to two metro stops. The neighborhood is charming and romantic too. This happens to be on a quiet, one way narrow alley street, but at the same time, right in the middle of everything. Our two kids loved the loft. I have already talked to friends who are a family of 5 and recommended Jeff's place. The greeter was wonderful and helpful too. I felt like it was very spacious considering all 4 of us could have been in one room with two double beds. This way, parents had their own bedroom. Washer/dryer was great and we made pasta at night in the well stocked kitchen. Do note it is on the ground floor so probably not a great idea to leave windows open at night if hot. Only that one small negative
