2 Bedroom Luxury Apartment in Historic Centre, close to Marina, & Beaches
- english, french, german, spanish
My husband David and I are British (Scottish and English), however, we have recently moved to Switzerland where my husband works for Roche Pharmaceuticals and prior to that Barclays Bank. We enjoy visiting different countries in Europe both on business and on holidays. As we have moved to Switzerland we are currently learning German. I speak some Spanish and French also. We enjoy travelling, historic buildings, beautiful scenery, and outdoor activities.
Celia purchased this Apartment in 2016
Why Celia chose Lagos Centre
We bought this property in 2016 as we found the location to be outstanding and the property has spacious rooms with outside balconies and terraces. We love the local town of Lagos which truly has everything to offer - shopping, marina trips, history and architecture all of which we enjoy. I should also mention we took up golf in 2012 and have found excellent golfing facilities within 10 mins drive from the historic centre. We felt that this apartment genuinely offered the best of all worlds being accessible to the beach and marina but also providing us with a Winter sun destination with all year round activities within an attractive, lively, and romantic setting.

Excellently located property close to the centre of the main restaurant and bars area of Lagos. Highly recommended
Thank you for the feedback and we are delighted you enjoyed Lagos.
If you want to stay in the old town this is a great flat. Well presented and clean, we had a very comfortable stay. No issues with the location of the free parking.
Thank you for the review. We are thrilled to know you enjoyed your stay and had a great holiday.
Old town Lagos
Excellent location and lovely well presented spacious apartment. Could not have asked for more.
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and had an enjoyable holiday in lovely Lagos.
Minutes from the best bars and restaurants in town
This is a very well located, spotlessly clean apartment. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is located on very narrow cobbled streets in the old town part of Lagos.
It can be quite noisy at night with cars and people walking past but having air conditioning in both bedroom means you don’t have to open windows to be able to cool down and sleep.
The apartment directly below is in the early stages of being renovated during the day and it can be noisy but this doesn’t start early or finish late and is only during the week. There is so much to do in this charming place that we were in and out most of the week.
The roof terrace gives a fantastic view of the sea and Marina and gives you a chance to appreciate where you are and what a fantastic place this is.
The town centre has a great feeling of being family friendly and the marina offers a multitude of great boat trips with anything from Dolphin watching to day trips to Alvor.
There is a small market with numerous stalls selling a wide variety of mainly clothing which has great variety.
Restaurant wise there is everything you could possibly need from Italian in the main square, Dynasty for a Chinese meal with a sea view or many family restaurant selling fantastic fish dishes.
There are many street musicians earning a living as you shop or dine so there is music always on tap.
My wife and I loved it and couldn’t recommend it highly enough....
Thank you for your review and we are delighted you enjoyed your visit to the lovely historic centre of Lagos. We were unaware of the renovation of the property below but there are strict local regulations about this and work has to stop during peak Summer, we are glad to know it caused you no problem.
Great apartment, excellent location
The apartment was lovely, in a perfect location. It was very clean and had everything needed for a perfect stay, including dishwasher and washing machine. The shower was great and the bed was comfy. It has a small roof terrace, with two sun loungers, there is no shade up there and it did get very hot in the afternoon sun, but was perfect from about 4.30pm onwards, and there are lovely beaches within easy walking distance. There are bars, restaurants, mini markets and bakeries, less than a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. During our stay there was heavy building work going on in the apartment next to us, so the weekdays it was very noisy (this is not a complaint as we appreciate this is totally out of the owners control), but over the weekend the area was very quiet and although there were bars very close by you couldn’t hear any noise from them.
The booking process was quick and easy and correspondence with the owner was clear and concise. The meet and greet at the apartment was seamless. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly book again if we were staying in Lagos.
Thank you for your detailed review which helps us and our future guests, much appreciated. Sorry to hear there was building work next door we were not aware of that, local restrictions do not allow building work in July and August so we will address that with the neighbour. It sounds like you had a very enjoyable stay and we are delighted to know you enjoyed all the local shops, restaurants, cafes and beaches as there is so much to see and do in Lagos. We hope to see you again in the future.
Lovely lively Lagos
Hidden in the old city this condo was difficult to find, but worth the effort!
We enjoyed the great location. Can get
a bit noisy at night, but just for short periods of time. Had coffee on the little terrace and watched the cars try to navigate the tiny street. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy all Lagos
has to offer. Great waterfront, restaurants, boat tours to the caves.
Visit Luz and Sagres. We enjoyed!
We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay in the lovely historic centre and found some many things to see and do. Thank you for the review.
Lagos is a historic town, where the Portuguese explorers and navigators set off to explore the new world. It is a top visitors destination and truly offers something for everyone. Traditionally a port and fishing town, Lagos has retained its old charm whilst developing with the modern world to offer a superb marina in a picturesque setting. Lagos has some of the best beaches not only in the Algarve but in the world, choose from Batata beach in town, Meia Praia - a wide unspoilt expanse popular with surfers, the stunningly picturesque Praia Dona Ana, or try the charming nearby fishing village and resort at Praia da Luz. These are just a few of the easily accessible beaches.
Lagos historic town is full of charm with winding streets, plentiful fine restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets, shops, and market stalls - wander through the maze of endless cobbled quaint streets which open every so often to charming squares, with adjacent traditionally tile fronted buildings and trees for shade.
Boat trips, and fishing trips are plentiful and start from the delightful marina. Bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters and cars can all be hired locally providing options for going a little further. A great centre for surfing, both surf and paddle boards can also be hired, as can lessons and trips.
Lagos remains a working Portuguese town and is never closed, has modern shopping, souvenir shops, dentists, doctors, hospitals, and everything one might ever need.
Lagos has historic charm, a 70's vibe, and combines its laid back culture with a high level of service and care. It is hard to leave but should you wish to explore further the Algarve and Lisbon are easily accessible.
