The fishing, the view, the house was amazing! We've been using Home Away for the past 5 to 6 years now...this will be my first review. Now for the not so pleasant things. Took me about 15 to 20 minutes to get the key to work. Imagine driving for 11 hours with 3 kids and can't get in the house....call office and let them know we can't get in but managed to unlock while on the phone.....at 8:30pm that night, I locked the door from inside and locked ourselves in the house. Tried over an over for hours...but could not open the door. Gave up and call management, left messages with office and emergency number...we were locked in. At 2:30 am, I woke up looked outside and noticed hundreds of large red fish. Desperate and excited, I found a hammock and attached to the deck then used it to climb down the deck taking the key with me. Not such a good idea but I was already committed hanging on the side of the deck. The fishing was successful and after a few minutes, I managed to unlock the door. Called management Saturday morning around 10AM, they promised to get the lock fix....this was the last conversation I had with management. We slept with door unlock for the remainder of our trip, we left late Monday night. We didn't bother calling them to tell them the non stop steam coming from the kitchen faucet or about having to manually open the toilet reservoir and pull the flusher each time you need to flush the upstairs toilet. Sent email to management when I got home, still no response...I hate that is my first review...the owners need to know.
