About the property

Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 7

This sweet traditional, newly updated ocean front family home with a large deck is one of the most private homes available along the Faria Coast. It boasts one of the widest ocean frontage in the community. Pelican Point is framed by coastal vegetation that provides complete privacy. Relax and enjoy your private oasis while you watch the migrating whales, diving pelicans, passing dolphins and surfers right out front.

Pelican Point exudes a feeling of "everything beach lifestyle”. It has that old school family beach house feel, with eclectic decorations, thoughtful books, maps and photos. Both the Living, Dining and Kitchen areas are oceanfront and enjoy unparalleled views of the ocean, waves and sea life. The home is very clean and spacious and perfect for families and friends getaways!

All one level, the home has two main bedrooms with clean and comfortable Queen beds. The third bedroom is a family style room and includes two twin beds as well as a pull out couch as an option. The home has three full baths, each adjacent to the bedrooms.

The deck off the house is a private oasis for you and your family to relax, play, BBQ and get that sun tan you've been dreaming about! The beach access is down the dreamy rock stairs off the deck. During the Summer the mellow surf and lower tides provide some nice sand and possibly some beach glass hunting. The home overlooks one of our favorite local surf spots...sit and watch the surf or get out there yourself!

The Pelican Point sits on the point in the gated Faria Beach Colony. There is great off street parking in the driveway and plenty of room for your family beach getaway!

Faria Beach in Ventura is a marine sanctuary with exposed tide pools, sand beaches, and some of the best marine environments along the California coast. The area is perfect for surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, boogie boarding or just to enjoy long walks on the beach, hunting for shells, rocks and sea glass. While this beach is known for dolphins feeding and riding waves on a daily bases, whales can even be spotted during their migration. The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional and the Channel Islands are visible offshore. With just steps to the sand, you will be able to explore one of California’s most unique and beautiful beaches.

Faria Beach in Ventura is a gated community that also offers a beautifully maintained private tennis court and child's playground just 50 yards from the home. Beyond the gates is a coastal bike path that takes you to Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Ventura and Ojai. Faria is right next to Solimar and Sea Cliff communities.

LOCATION

Ventura is only 10 minutes to the South; Santa Barbara and Ojai are 35 minutes away; Carpinteria is 15 minutes away. There are three harbors and fishing as close as fifteen minutes. Most of these homes are ideal for any ocean activity and are also next to a coastal bikeway that extends from Ventura to Santa Barbara.

Wonderful Holiday Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Everything in the house and about the house was perfect. We were all quite comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked. The kids were totally occupied climbing on the rocks and searching for shells. The view is unsurpassed and we were lucky enough to see lots of dolphin activity. I would stay again, without a doubt. This was an unforgettable trip for our entire family.

Fun beach house!

  • 5 of 5

Great stay! Property mgr very responsive. Beach house was clean and comfortable. House was dated but everything worked fine. Right on beach but check tide schedule. Unless lowest tide is during daytime you will not have any direct beach access at all due to rocks. No beach to walk onto at all but you can walk 5 minutes to public beach which is accessed using gate thru community garden.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great stay. Depending on time of year, the beach sand comes and goes. This home has stairs down to a wet sand beach to walk on during low tides and two private beach access points down the street

Perfect get-way

  • 5 of 5

The house and location had everything we could ask for. Close enough to LA. But far enough away to make you feel like you really got away. Very private location. Perfect for families.

PERFECTION!

  • 5 of 5

Pelican Point was the perfect house for us! We had six people varying ages from 20 to 80 years old and everyone loved it!! The house is laid out in such a way that everyone has a lot of privacy if they want it and the living and dining room are spacious enough for everyone to gather at one time.

Here's the stuff that wasn't covered in most of the reviews that I wondered about before we got there. I am from St. Louis and I knew nothing about the area, so I hope this information helps you:

The house is located directly on the beach when the tide is high the ocean is right there! There are big beautiful boulders between you and the ocean. It is pretty easy to climb down to the beach directly from the deck using the boulders. Or you can walk just one house over and use stairs to get to the beach.

When it is low tide it is equally as beautiful, the rocks and sea life that are exposed during low tide are breath taking. Walking the beach during low tide we saw so many starfish and other sea creatures that you usually never get to see from just walking on a beach.

The house has everything you could want. The owners even supply trash bags, dish soap, toilet paper, hand soap at each bathroom sink, a starter one pot coffee pack and starter bath gel and shampoo. There are plenty of towels for bathing and for the beach. The house also has a full size washer and dryer, board games and boogie boards.

Patio deck is very private and plenty big with many more chairs then are shown in the pictures.

Directly in front of the house the ocean has a lot of rocks, but about four houses down the ocean floor doesn't have as many rocks.

The property manager, Chuck Menzel, is wonderful and very easy to work with!

The town of Ventura is about a five minute drive, the pier is there and lots of shops and restaurants. I was surprised by the amount of thrift stores in town. The town is casual and very laid back. In town there are public beaches and parks, the beaches there are more sandy with a smooth ocean floor.

There is also a Harbor area that is about a three minute drive from town, more tourist shops there and restaurants. I enjoyed both areas equally. The town of Santa Barbara is only a twenty minute drive from the house and there you will find a lot more upscale shopping. Look for State Street. If you are familiar with the Magnificent Mile in Chicago it's a California version of that.

We could not have been happier with this house!!!
