VILLA AMBER is a luxury, private 1 Bedroom Villa in Laem Set area in the south of the island. The Villa offers tropical style 180 square metres of exquisite indoor and outdoor living areas with large salt water swimming pool with seating area.

Villa Amber is set within a quiet, rural area, providing 100% privacy, yet within an 8 minute drive you will find a wide range of beautiful restaurants and a lovely, local fishing village. The lovely coastline, which is shallow and calm, is only a few min drive, or 6 min walk from Villa Amber. There are wonderful walks to be found all along the beach to serene Laem Sor Pagoda, located on the sands, overlooking surrounding islands. The villa is also only a 10 min drive from Lamai with its lovely expansive beach.

You have an exquisite open plan, tropical Living area has a large screen SMART TV with Netflix, YouTube etc, which overlooks the 4 x 7 mtr salt water swimming pool and lush surrounding tropical garden. There are lovely views to the pool and lush garden, with Lotus pond, where you can capture the swaying palm trees in this wonderful, tropical environment. Villa Amber is ideal for couples in this private oasis. Evening time the villa casts a romantic atmosphere with its soft surrounding lighting.

Also looking out to the pool, is the charming additional Living/Dining area, with air conditioning, wicker sofa, teak dining table and chairs, and bookcase with a selection of books.

Stylish open plan Kitchen, fully equipped with microwave, oven, gas hob, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer, toaster, blender, full cutlery and crockery etc.

Beautiful and spacious en-suite Bedroom with air conditioning, king size bed, elegant teak furniture and a 50 inch LED flatscreen TV with Netflix, YouTube etc. Leading out from the Bedroom through double doors is a small walled garden.

The large, private salt water swimming pool has a jetted plunge pool and seating area, with the surrounding tropical garden.

Garden furniture with table, chairs, sunbeds and parasol are located on the patio, together with a built-in outdoor gas barbecue. Here you can cook fresh meat and fish bought from the local market or Superstores, and dine al fresco with exquisite outdoor living.

Free fibre optic wifi provided throughout the villa.

All towels and linen provided. The villa is cleaned after every 3 nights , with change of clean bed linen and fresh bathroom and pool towels also after every 3 nights. Small bottle of shower gel and shampoo provided for the first night.

Secure and private parking at the villa.

Complimentary pick up for guests from Samui airport / ferry terminal / hotel to your Villa and a return journey at the end of your visit (one in each direction).

The best way to get around is the use of a car or moped with which we can assist you with the rental.

All our cars are insured, with the guest being responsible, and limited, for the first 20,000 Baht of any damage. There is no insurance on mopeds where the guest pays for any damage incurred.

It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that they also have their own comprehensive Travel & Health Insurance, and appropriate driving documentation for Thailand.

All our vehicles will have a full tank of petrol for you. Please ensure that you return the vehicle at the end of your stay with a full tank.

No ‘off-roading’ or driving in harsh terrain. The rental car is not to be driven off the island.

Nowhere on the island is more than 45 mins away. The villa is on the quieter part of the island and makes driving a more pleasurable experience.

Please note that no additional guests other than those who have booked to stay at the villa, are permitted to stay overnight.

Neighbourhood description:

Villa Amber provides a quiet and peaceful location, particularly for couples, who want to experience and learn more about the local Thai culture. You will have plenty of places to explore. This beautiful tropical area has quiet local beaches, authentic local Thai restaurants, Rum Distillery, Laem Sor Pagoda, the waterfalls and the fishing village of Thong Krut with its wonderful atmosphere and stunning sunsets.

The local beach to Villa Amber is only 650 mtrs away, where the coastline is calm and shallow waters. Due to the water being shallow, it may not always be ideal for swimming. There is a real beauty however in these quiet and natural beaches which can hold a far greater appeal than busy tourist beaches. Walk alongside the palm trees, dip your toes into the clear water and feel the sense of Koh Samui of long ago. Within this area you will also find boat trips, snorkelling trips and kayaking on offer, together with several lovely beachside restaurants and cafes. You may prefer to swim at Lamai Beach, only a 10 min drive away, where the ocean is deeper. You also have your own private pool at the villa.

A few mins walk are a couple of local shops. Just 800 mtrs away is 7-Eleven, a local 24hr store for your basic shopping, together with ATM, which are located everywhere across the island. With also the Tesco Lotus Superstore and the popular large food supermarket, Makro located in Lamai, your every need is catered for.

There are many excellent restaurants to choose from. Within a 3 min walk of Villa Topaz is a popular local Thai Restaurant, Somtum Indy, serving both Thai and European food. Also 5 min walk away is the elegant Baan Bo Ran village which has dining indoor rooms with aircon or outdoor tables set by a beautiful Lotus lake. The ever popular and healthy Organic Restaurant Sweet Sisters is only 800 mtrs away. Also 600 mtrs from the villa is Les Jardins De La Rhumerie Restaurant, which is set in a lovely garden and opens for breakfast, staying open from 9 until 21.00 hrs.

Thong Krut, the local fishing village, has many wonderful local beachfront restaurants to experience, along with the nearby beautiful Laem Sor Pagoda to visit - all less than a 6/7 min drive away. Located here in the south tip of the island you will see beautiful sunsets, where it is the perfect place to enjoy the simple pleasures, away from any hustle and bustle.

The southern part of the island, where Villa Amber is located, remains pretty much unspoiled, especially compared to the north. It still has that rustic charm appeal that the whole of Samui once boasted years ago. We are frequently told by guests they find the Thai people in this southern part of the island extremely hospitable, and welcoming. In the north where it is far more crowded and touristy on the island there is not always the opportunity to discover the true warmth and charm of the local people.

The beaches in the south remain pretty much undeveloped, due mainly to the shallow coastline. If you like to explore you can still find areas where you have the beach to yourself, and never too far away will be a rustic Thai restaurant where you can enjoy true authentic local dishes.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The seaside town of Lamai, the second largest on the island, and superior to congested Chaweng, is 10 minutes away by car or moped, where you can fine dine in one of the many beachside restaurants. There are individual shops offering locally made souvenirs and clothes. When the sun goes down the streets come alive with lights from the night market and variety of restaurants serving excellent Thai and western dishes in the town and on the beach. Thai boxing is also popular and Lamai has its own professional and amateur boxing ring. Five mins north of Lamai is Silver beach one of the best beaches on the whole island.

Five mins away by motorbike or car you have the fishing village of Baan Hua Thanon where fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are sold daily at the local market. There are also many local shops here, together with doctor's surgery, restaurants and a Chinese temple.

Amphoe Ko Samui Stadium, only a 5 min drive away, is home to many popular sports events, where visitors can come to watch the activities. It is located in an attractive area, surrounded by a lake/reservoir where there is a football field, basketball etc and you can also walk around or jog with lots of shade. Also outdoor fitness park with brightly coloured exercise equipment which is free to use.

Nearby to the Villa many of the island's main attractions are less than 10 minute drive away, which include the Waterfalls, Elephant Trekking, Grandmother Grandfather Rocks, Thai cookery, Thai boxing, Thai cookery classes, Thai boxing classes (Muay Thai), water sports, among many others.
