We are are two professionals who live and work in Trinidad, the larger island of the twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago.
Driven by the intense desire to spend more quality time with our family and "slow down" the pace of our hectic careers, we were motivated to look for and eventually found a place that we consider our "slice of heaven". We used this property exclusively for friends and family for the first year. The more they came to stay, the more we were told - "this is a fantastic place - people will love to come here". Why don't you rent it out? Also, every time we stayed at the cottage, tourists who stop in the bay frequently, kept asking us for a tour of the place and enquired about renting it. We eventually caved in and started renting it out from January 2015.
We are private owners and take great interest in the comfort and care of those who stay at our cottage. We have had our ups and downs, as any new venture will bring and we have always been able to ensure that guests issues are taken care off and that their stay is comfortable and relaxing.
We are driven not by the obvious secondary financial gains that can be made, but really by the desire to allow those who choose to stay here - the opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful aura, pleasant community living and the beach front benefits of staying at our cottage.

Six of us stayed at the Wooden Orange House on Parlatuvier Beach in late July for four days and I don't know if we were just plain lucky to be there at the precise time of year when the Fates converged or what but I came away feeling like the good Lord himself had taken a slice of paradise and dropped it in Parlatuvier with a special ray of light shining on the Wooden Orange House....yeah, I realize that sounded a bit fu-fu, but......seriously, it's how I feel about this place.
The deck stands out most. Obviously it's the main gathering/liming point in the house but combined with the fact it's on the beach, the sounds of the surf (when we were there there were no waves to speak of in the bay), the clean clear sea water, the sea breezes, the peacefulness.....the ambience is very relaxing. Now add the potential for some simply amazing sunsets (I saw a particularly spectacular one) and maybe now you can understand the fu-fu above.
Sarah and Derek, the hosts, are pleasant, attentive and helpful. Sarah responded quickly to all our questions and was forthcoming with advice and suggestions which helped to make our stay more enjoyable. Thank you Sarah and Derek, we had a great time!
