About Sam Weaver

This home began as a small cottage and was purchased by us in 1968. We raised our family here, and when our children began to have families of their own, we renovated to provide a beautiful vacation home we could enjoy with our 3 children, their spouses and our 11 grandchildren. This home comfortably accommodates all of us at once and is enjoyed spring, summer, fall and winter.

Incredible Home and Relaxation - Perfect for large families

  • 5 of 5

My family (9 adults, 1 3-year old) really enjoyed our stay at your home. The home was very inviting, comfortable and full of amenities. The view from the deck was great to sip morning coffee and enjoy the sounds of the Loons on the lake. There was a ton of space in the home to read, have some intense ping pong matches, take a nap and the large dining room table was perfect not only for eating (when we didn't eat outside) but for family game night. It was great to have the pontoon boat (otherwise known as the "ping pong boat" to my 3-year old neice), the 14 foot Lund boat and the paddle boat to experience the lake. The fishing was quite good considering some of the hot days. While the Blue Gill will plentiful (some were huge) and kept us hopping, we also caught quite a few Perch and landed a couple good size Bass and a Catfish or two. The lake was perfect for swimming (great temperature) and the launch pad was a big hit. This was our 6th time to Hale (probably a record for someone from Ohio) and this visit was a great memory making visit as well. Thank you for opening your lake home to our family. It is an incredibly nice home and the memories made will last a lifetime!

Great Experience

  • 4 of 5

Even though the house is older, the inside doesn't "feel" old and the house is well maintained. The view of the water from the balcony was beautiful and the fishing was good right from the dock. The owner made sure that everything went smooth. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great week at Hale lake house.

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful week at Sam's beautiful home. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the utensils, small appliances and serving pieces we needed. Loved the use of the pontoon boat, fishing boats and paddle boat on this delightful lake. We enjoyed fires in the fire pit every night. The experience was so great that, except for gocery shopping, we didn't leave the house or the lake the entire week. Sam was a very accessible and accommodating host and responded very quickly to the few questions we had. Would definitely consider returning and would recommend others consider this property.

Comfortable accommodations for our family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was June 12-18. This house easily accommodated ourfamily consisting of 4 couples, 3 teens and 5 children. The children loved the uniquely designed bunk room with movies and lots of toys, that could have serviced 10. The master bedroom was fabulous. The kitchen was well designed for a large group in a rather small space. The great room was a nice bright living space but not enough seating for everyone to gather together except at the tables. The weather did not permit us to take all our meals out on the patio but that would have been perfect. The lower level family room would have been another good room to live in but the teens used it for their bedroom and had privacy there. Since there was no good beach area, we went to the East Tawas beach a half hour away for a day of swimming and sand. Lumbermans Monument was nearby for an afternoon trip too. There was wifi but our family with 15-20 devices attached was too taxing for it many times. This was a very good choice for our family week and the owner was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed to successfully plan our week.

Fantastic Family Lake Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family of 13 stayed at this amazing lake house for a week this summer. We had 4 kids (ages 3-13) ,8 adults and 1 infant. The house was spacious enough that we never felt crowded. The kids room and bunk bed set up made them want to go in there and sleep at night. It was packed full of toys, video games and movies for them to watch. Most days were spent on the pontoon tubing, fishing, and swimming. It was a perfect family vacation. Each couple prepped a dinner or two each evening and we all enjoyed time around the dinner table. Sam, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and accommodated. We will most certainly be back!
