Lovely place to stay, especially if you enjoy fishing! The cottage was clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great and there's a games room and some play equipment to keep the kids entertained. The pool is great fun to play around in - but don't expect to do any lengths, it's only about 75cm deep!
Beautiful cottage and view. Kids loves the play area, the donkey and watching fishing. We enjoyed the hot tub and sunsets over the ponds. Great location. Close to loads of day trip activity choices. Cottage well equipped with everything we needed.
Lovely hosts who took in our Tesco shop that arrived before we did. Would recommend.

Nice house, Nice quiet location with pretty lake. Kitchen was missing a lot of essentials - no cloths or sponges, no cooking spatula or tongs, and only bare essentials of frying pan and couple of pots, couple of cooking spoons and tin opener. Also not the easiest to find which wasn't specified clearly. Other than that it is a nice property, good quality furnishings, and nice to stay in.

We are delighted we enjoyed your stay at Trehill cottages and do hope to see you return soon. By then we will hopefully be free of the restrictions which have required us to remove certain items from kitchens etc. Normally we pride ourselves on the well stocked nature of our cottages and hope that we will be able to return to that soon
Lovely cottage, lovely location. Unfortunately quite a distance from beaches howevervthe weather wasnt kind to us so not beach weather but good location for exploring Cornwall. Property good, hot tub a little too hot, beautiful grounds amazing fish a true fisherman's paradise. We were not fishermen but enjoyed watching others. Blinds in bedrooms banged about when it was windy at night. Pool more of a children's pool. 5 adults had difficulty swimming however mastered the art of wading. A lovely cottage with all that a family needs. Good location for exploring. Peacful location. Owners onsite were lovely. Not much for 3 young adults to do but some good pubs not far from property. We would go back for peace and tranquillity. Good price and no dogs....bonus.

Excellent accommodation
Cannot fault the actual property it was lovely. The facilities were great too two bathrooms were a bonus with teens! Bedrooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Kitchen facilities were excellent nice big fridge and icebox dishwasher ,washing machine , microwave and cooker was easy to use. All the utensils you could need except a frying pan which was really annoying. Everything else was 5 star. We used the pool once it was too shallow to enjoy properly and we had to scoop two dead mice out before we used it. (It’s very rural so to be expected I suppose, it just put us off) the pool area wasn’t very inviting either. Other people seemed to be enjoying it so that’s just our opinion. The water views were lovely and tranquil. It was spoiled by the fishing. We couldn’t have the windows open or blinds because there were do many people standing right outside the windows and patio so we couldn’t sit outside without being stared at. They were out there at 5am too shouting across the pond at each other which we didn’t appreciate at all. I guess if you’re into fishing it wouldn’t bother you. Kids game room was great teens loved it except for the little kids (unsupervised) getting in the way. Potential guests should know it is very rural not close to anything so be prepared to drive a lot. It is a beautiful building and area and the check in and out is easy and convenient. Owners are on hand if needed and easy to contact otherwise we were left to our own devices which suited us.
A beautiful location with lovely views from the cottage. The accommodation was much more spacious than the photographs suggested. The children loved the play are and feeding Snowy the donkey carrots and apples. The only slight disappointment was that the hot tub was not functioning properly. Other than that I could not fault the cleanliness of the accommodation and the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners.
We had concerns about the cooker. Each time more than one person was in the kitchen the knobs were caught and switched on. We switched it off at the wall but felt I needed to bring it to your attention in case anyone has children. Everything else was lovely thank you we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage and the fishing was a huge hit!
The cottage was very clean and tidy with everything you need for a home from home. It was lovely and warm which was a huge relief as the weather was pretty cold during our stay. The weather, however, did not stop us all from wrapping up warm and doing some fishing. We had purchased some rods from a friendly shop in Liskeard called Fishing Mayhem (based in Golden Bank Nursery & Garden Centre). The fish in the lakes loved bread but another guy fishing was catching a crazy amount of fish using pellets (very smelly and looked like jelly) so get some of them!
The games room was a little different to the photo (the arcade game had gone) and the electronic dart board was pretty lame but we spent about 40 minutes playing on the table tennis and air hockey.
Snowy the donkey was hilarious and we all enjoyed watching it bucking and running about like a nutter! Very funny!
The location was remote and so it was quiet and peaceful.
The travel cot smelt a little musty and the highchair had mouldy straps so I think they had been in storage somewhere a little damp but I had some sterilising fluid with me so cleaned it off before use.
We really enjoyed our stay but things that would have improved our experience would have been clearer instructions on what to do when we got there and where to park our car; a little welcome box maybe (some biscuits/milk?); info about local shops/take-away/places to eat/etc (leaflets); labels on the many switches outside the bathroom to identify what they do; a washing up sponge for the dishes and some hand soap in the bathroom would have been nice as I hadn't packed these items.
Overall an enjoyable stay with my husband and two boys! Thank you

Hi Ayesha, we are delighted you had an enjoyable stay. We are sorry about the picture of the games room. Sadly arcade machines are almost impossible to repair these days. We will get new photos shot immediately.
The dartboard is a difficult one. At Trehill cottages we are delighted that children are able to explore the grounds and use most of the facilities without parental supervision. This does mean compromises and a dartboard with sharp steel tips would be one of them. Alas, the child friendly dart board is just not as good as a proper old fashioned one! But it is a lot less likely to result in serious injury!
For future guests information...
- We always email out extremely detailed directions and check in instructions
- Welcome packs are a tough one. We used to provide a mini welcome pack, but as dietary requirements changed and as potential allergies increased, we no longer felt comfortable offering guests basic items on arrival. There is a very good local shop in the village about a mile away (open very late thankfully!) and a Tesco, less than 5 minutes away.
Once again thank you for visiting Trehill cottages and we would be delighted to welcome you back in future!

Fantastic Holiday!
A great holiday as the weather was brilliant. The cottage was lovely with great views, a friendly donkey and it was a nice setting. The only criticism we have is attention to detail in regards to maintenance and house keeping after people have left.

A charming cottage with a beautiful view, great outdoors, a nice kitchen and romantic bedrooms. We felt very well und made a lot of trips around the amazing Cornwall. Our tip: visit the interesting Cotehele House, it's not far away and stunning!

We enjoyed our short break in Cornwall. the cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. The grounds were lovely and the fishing was fun. I caught a 15 pounder on my last morning. We didn't get to the China Fleet club but it certainly looked nice.

Beautiful old cottage right by the fishing lake. The balcony was great while my partner and young children were fishing. I felt I could almost touch them. Very enjoyable stay and would definitely return

Lovely cottage in stunning location
beautiful old cottage with really good views of lake and countryside. Fishing right outside our front door and the donkeys were so friendly. Cottage was really nice inside and as it was cold in June, they even kept the heating on. The outdoor pool was also surprisingly warm. Highly recommended for the quality of the accommodation and the on-site amenities.
