Overview

About the property

This is a one bedroom (sleeps 2), loft (sleeps 4) and one bath home. The basement has a small bath and a full size lofted bed. The couch can be made into a full sleeping two comfortably. We fully remodeled this home ourselves to be a place to get away as a family and share with friends. Indoor fireplace as well as a outside fire pit. A great porch to sit and enjoy the outside with lots of outdoor space to enjoy as we are on the edge of national forest. A creek across the street a short walk down the hill near the volunteer firestation as well as 3 miles from Lynx Lake. Near mountain biking, hiking, fishing and outdoor fun.

We are located just outside of downtown about 13 miles away and there are grocery stores etc within 7 miles. Dogs are welcome if they are house broken and well behaved.

About Rochelle Geryol

We are a family of 4 who own local restaurants in the Tempe area-we've worked hard to make it in a hard industry and feel blessed to have this place in Prescott. We consider it a joy and privilege to share this blessing with others.

Rochelle Geryol purchased this house in 2014

Why Rochelle Geryol chose Capital Territory & High Country

After looking for several years this property came to our attention completely gutted and needing a remodel. We spent 6 weekends completely remodeling every inch, including installing a 1000 lb 30 foot long beam along with our family and friends. Every inch of the remodel was somehow touched by those who love us and knew we had dreamed of this place. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with friends and family from across the US here as our first gathering after the remodel. That weekend was everything we hoped this place will represent for those who would visit. We hope all who walk thru the doors and explore the land will be just as blessed by the space and go out to find adventure.

What makes this house unique

Surrounded by national forest with hiking trails literally on the property, rock climbing just a few minutes walk away as well as the Walker Volunteer Station just down the road that holds events almost every weekend.

Charming cabin

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved this cabin! It had everything our family needed and more. It was so cozy and we enjoyed spending so much time outside relaxing on the patio, hiking, boating (lynx lake) and playing games with the family! The owners were more than accommodating. We will be back for sure!

Rustic fun!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed this cabin a lot! It was very private in the woods, but still very accessible to town for groceries or restaurants. We enjoyed the fire pit very much, but mostly watching the monsoons pass from the front porch. The hosts were very accessible and have thought of pretty much everything you would need for your stay. My only criticism would be that I couldn't quite get the oven to work properly...it seemed like the doors wouldn't fully shut. It could be operater error on my part though. The property has lots of little trails for the kiddos (and kids at heart) to explore. We loved it, and look forward to returning :)

We had a great time, the cabin has a great location with forest surrounding it.

I took my wife and 5 kids up on a Tuesday, and we left on Thursday. The directions provided were spot on, and the cabin very welcoming. My kids loved staying up in the loft, we should have brought a gate for the stairs because we have 1 year old who loves to climb stairs but can't climb down. The lake was close enough to drive the ranger to. What a great place to stay.

Loved this cozy cabin!

  • 4 of 5

My family enjoyed this beautiful cabin for our Easter vacation. The owners went to many great lengths to make sure this home away from home had what is needed to make your stay very enjoyable. You can feel their love of life by the way they decorated and their correspondance with us. We had other family stay at a different cabin and we were so glad this was ours! The location was perfect and was easily accessible. We will be back to make more great memories with the family. We highly recommend this home to others looking for the cabin experience.

Peace in the pines

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't have asked for a more satisfying stay. Living in the Southern California desert, my wife and I(and our two dogs) were looking for a quiet, and most important, cooler place to get away for a few days. The cabin was just what the doctor ordered for us. Sitting right on the edge of the Prescott National Forest, we were close to several hiking trails, Lynx Lake, and only about 7 miles to grocery stores, Costco, and several restaurants. The cabin had everything we needed. An outdoor fire pit, as well as an indoor fireplace provided the perfect setting for the nice cool nights we experienced. On Saturday afternoon, a rainstorm blew through the valley and we sat on the nice deck taking it all in. All of the rooms were clean, including the bathroom. A nice propane grill with all the utensils you may possibly need is also available. All in all, a wonderful experience. Oh, and the dogs loved it as well! Can't wait to head back there again.
