Great Deal

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this property with a group of eight (4 couples) during the 2017 Memorial Day weekend. Not a day went by, during our trip, without one of my fellow travelers congratulating me on choosing the home. There is a beautiful view of the river and mountains right outside the front door. The home was comfortable. It's was centrally located to the activities we were doing. Everything worked. We bought groceries and cooked (stove and BBQ). The home owner provided plenty of supplies so that we didn't run out of any necessities. The home was a large contributor to the success of the trip. The homeowner answered my many questions. She allowed us to check in early which was great after a long drive. If ever decide to come back to the area this is where we will stay.

Owner's Response: The personal contact I have with my prospective guests helps me determine what kind of experience my guest is looking for. The home can be a quiet retreat from a hectic lifestyle or filled with fun activities. There are all kinds of opportunities for friends and family to enjoy when they visit W. Virginia.

Cute, cozy and comfortable

A very nice home to stay while on vacation. So much better than a motel. It was great having a kitchen that had everything you needed to cook with. Great area and the River was across the street.

The house was big enough to fit all of our family and there were lots of places in the area for our kids to explore. We loved our time there and really got to spend some quality time with our kids.

We all had a great time, such a quaint place, great neighbors.

Lovely place, quaint, private. Would recommend staying at the house. Wish we would have been able to book for a whole week. Our stay was over labor day weekend and the weather was not as great as we'd hope. But still plenty to do. Was disappointed the golf course was closed.

Cute, homely property

  • 4 of 5

Very cute and homely property, very nice and quiet, beautiful scenery. We did not signal in that area so no wifi was a bummer.

Owner's Response: Sometimes WiFi is iffy in the area but the Inn across the street usually has a stronger signal and maybe accessed from there. Ask about should weather be a problem. We have almost always been able to get a signal thru the INN unless the weather is TERRIBLE and then everyone in the area will have a problems getting it.

There are many water falls in the area. One is just 1/4 mile down Hwy. called Cathedral Falls. There is also a hiking trail in Ansted that winds down the mountain and has many water falls to see as you hike. Tamerack is a convention center with artisan items from W. VA and an excellent restaurant. Smokey's on the Gorge is also excellent to eat at and has a fantastic view of the gorge. There are many state Parks within a short drive, white water rafting, zip lining and a Jet Boat ride that is fun for all. Beckly Exhibition Coal Mine is another tourist attraction to see.
