Hi! My name is Shane Quimby and I am the proud owner of 'The Quimby Cabin'; that's a picture of me building that deck out back. Originally from a small farm town in Illinois, I have been involved in the Yellowstone area for the past nine years and it's been my home for three years. I am a craftsman with a woodworking business in Gardiner, MT called Badger Creek Rustic Furniture. I have put my whole heart and soul into restoring this home and have tried to create a space that mirrors what I feel in this area: peace, tranquility, and happiness. I have decided to open my home up to people from all of the world. I do hope you'll come and stay awhile, just soaking in that morning sunrise.

This property has the best view in all of Gardiner. The cabin sits above the Yellowstone River and looks directly into Yellowstone National Park with views of the Black Canyon of the Yellowstone, Rattlesnake Butte, and Mount Everts all from the kitchen window. Wildlife including elk, bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, marmots and other critters have been known to walk around the property, even bed down in the back yard. Other animals spotted in the surrounding hillsides includes black bear, wolves, coyotes, foxes, waterfowl, and various song birds. This property is also within walking distance of the best restaurants in town and a short drive from the North Entrance. It's convenient, comfortable, and cozy.
We had a great stay. Shane and Jess were very helpful, and the place is great, very comfortable. Thank you so much.

You can't get a better place than this in Gardiner! We just spent 3 magnificent nights at this cabin with my family of 5. It has spectacular views of the river and mountains. The back deck is priceless. I'm not sure how Shane (owner) organized this, but a herd of Elk came right through the yard and grazed on the back area just below the deck! You can walk to all the shops. My advise is to just BBQ on the back deck and watch nature show up before you! The accommodations were lovely inside as well.
Shane and Jessica were incredible hosts and we enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Quimby Cabin. The view of the river and the deck was amazing! We are typically the type of vacationers that pack each day full of activities but the deck, grill and river beckoned and our family of 6 stayed at the cabin one whole afternoon and evening just relaxing - a first for us! The location was outstanding - walking distance to everything in town and just a minute to the Yellowstone entrance. We'll definitely recommend the Quimby Cabin to friends and family and we hope to come back sometime! Thanks again, Jessica, Shane and baby Owen.
The cabin has a great view of the Yellowstone River. Cabin was clean and well-maintained. Nice to be able to walk into Gardiner.
We stayed here for a week with our two teenage sons to experience Yellowstone for the first time. The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed to feel right at home. It was clean, well furnished (kitchen had everything we needed), and in a PERFECT location. The deck is amazing and we spent a lot of time on it listening to the river while watching the wildlife on the other side of the bank. We walked one block into town for dinner and shopping and the Paradise Adventure Company is right next door for a convenient rafting excursion. Even though the home is close to downtown we had lots of privacy. The owner Shane was great and was available for any questions we had during our stay. He went over and above to make sure we were happy with the accommodations. I would HIGHLY recommend this rental. If we ever return to the area we would definitely stay in the Quimby Cabin again.
Gardiner, MT is the only year-round entrance to America's first national park, Yellowstone. Stay with us any season and see what this wonderland has to offer. From skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, to hiking and white water rafting in the summer, it has something for everyone.
If you are looking for personal wildlife tours, we can highly recommend two local biologists who provide some of the best experiences Yellowstone can offer.
