Great cabin for a family adventure. If you are looking for a rustic place at the lake and enjoy the outdoors, this is the rental for you. The cabin has 2 bedrooms downstairs with 1 full bath and 2 bedrooms upstairs with 1 full bath. Enjoy a meal on the patio or sit on the front porch and swing or rock. There is a new pier that is great for sunbathing, relaxing, fishing or dining. It also has a slip to park your boat. Included with the rental are 3 kayaks and 1 stand-up paddleboard. Also included is a little kayak for a small child. Great flat front yard that is wonderful for a game of corn hole or sitting around the fire pit. Come enjoy a fun time on Lake Norman.

What makes this Cabin unique
Great part of the lake across from the State Park. Less crowded on weekends and big open water to play.

Disappointing. Beautiful property. Neglected house.
The property is gorgeous. The cabin seems like it was a family home, well-loved by more than one generation. Unfortunately, the property owners don’t seem interested in maintaining it any more than the absolute bare minimum. I felt like a guest who had unexpectedly called and asked to use the place because my other plans fell through instead of someone who had paid over $1k to stay the weekend.
There was dust everywhere. The grill was so disgusting (not cleaned for at least a season or two) we went out and bought a new one since we had intented to grill the entire trip. There are mice and bugs. We saw both. (Yes, we saw live live mice running through the rental during our stay.) There was a serious wasp infestation on the porch, so don’t plan on sitting out there leisurely if you have issues with the constant buzzing and dodging. We used bee and wasp spray to try and combat it, but I still ended up getting stung. Floor boards were coming up throughout. Probably worst of all, there was a leak in one of the bedrooms. My sister (who happens to be disabled) ended up with a huge wet spot on her bed from it. When I tried contacting the owners, all I got was a text several hours later saying they were sorry...but they did absolutely nothing about it.
The cleaning fee is an absolute joke. Again, the place looked like it hadn’t been dusted since 1975, and there were mice droppings on the stove. Plus, they want the guests to put all the linens in the wash on their way out. So really all the owners/maintenance has to do is change the sheets.
Also important to note, the second floor has extremely low ceilings. You really can’t stand up straight anywhere except the bathroom and center of the rooms and hallway. Otherwise, the steep slope of the roof makes it so you have to bend over a bit. Even standing up next to the bed was a problem for us.
As many guests before me have mentioned, the place could use a serious update. Even something as simple as getting rid of the old, dusty cushions and blankets, kept better as family treasures in the attic, and putting out new curtains and blankets would be a major upgrade.
It’s really a shame how careless (they literally seem to not care at all about anything other than making a quick buck) owners are because the property itself is great. I wish we would’ve had better hosts because it really could’ve been a spectacular vacation.
Great little cabin with a fantastic view
Great cabin, had everything we needed and then some. Fantastic sunrises and so peaceful.
Very nice property
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin at the Lake. It has a beautiful view of the lake and wonderful peacefulness. We hope to be able to visit again in the future.
Wonderful and cozy authentic log cabin on the lake
What a great escape from a high tech world. Peace and quiet surrounded by blue birds, herons, loons and beautiful sunrises.
All the modern conveniences made our stay comfortable and memorable.
Would definitely stay again!
Charming and peaceful
This rustic log cabin offers a beautiful open water setting across from LKN state park. It felt like we were at our own weekend lake home. This is not a five star hotel property but what it lacks in pristine it more than makes up in charm. The cabin is set on a quiet country road. A 10 minute drive to necessary supplies and 20 minutes to anything your could ever want. We stayed for a week, wish we could have stayed a month. Thanks for sharing your lake home with our family!
A wonderful visit with my granddaughter
The property was clean and comfortable I had a wonderful weekend with my family and I would definitely return
