Billabong Cottage at Sweetacres (formerly Billabong Moon) offers so much peace, relaxation, and enjoyment for guests onsite as well as being ideally located to take advantage for many cellar doors, restaurants, attractions, and activities within moments of your cottage.

Billabong Cottage is perfect for up to four guests and is exclusively positioned on the edge of the Sweetacres’ stunning natural billabong. Surrounded by casuarina woodlands, your days will be spent enjoying this idyllic location watching the ever-changing view of the billabong as it reflects the sky. The cottage features two well-appointed ensuite rooms with fans, a fully self-contained kitchen, air-conditioned open-plan sitting room with a cosy combustion wood fire. The extensive entertainment sun deck reaches out into the billabong and makes you feel like your cottage is floating. Teaming with birds, natural wildlife, and fish, it the perfect spot for a BBQ lunch, or a lazy afternoon in the sun. Guests are welcome to throw in a line or go for a relaxing row in the billabong boat and float away.

Moments away from Billabong Cottage, sample the delights of Hermitage Road and dine at Botanica, and Piggs Peake. Sample excellent food and brew at The Farm where you can horse ride, take a Segway tour, or meet the animals! Enjoy terrific hospitality whilst wine-tasting at neighbouring Hunter Wine Lab, Wombat Crossing, Thomas Wines, Ironbark Hill Brewhouse, Keith Tulloch or Tintilla. Wedding guests will love being only moments from signature reception venues including Enzo, The White Barn and Greystone Estate. Sweetacres is only 7 minutes’ drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens, The Vintage Golf Course, Roche, and Hope Estates as well as all food and wine delights of Hermitage, Broke and Deasys Roads.

For the active at heart, take a bush walk around Sweetacres’ walking tracks past the billabong and the casuarina woodlands or, wander across the lawn to enjoy The Deck leisure area or a dip in the refreshing shared Guest saltwater pool. You may also like to hire a bike and take the Hermitage Road cycle track to explore the best this destination has on offer.

Please note Billabong Cottage at Sweetacres is NOT pet friendly and children must be supervised at all times.

Please Note: Sweetacres is not fully compliant for accessibility requirements, however we do have a Wheel Chair Ramp, Toilet Seat Safety Rails and a Shower Chair available (provided on request only). Please contact us to discuss your needs and we can advise if we can assist.

Accommodates a maximum 4 guests or 2 guests in individual beds

TARIFF 
Weekend - 2 night minimum up to 2 guests, $370 per night (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)
Midweek - 2 night minimum up to 2 guests, $316 per night (Mon-Thurs)
Extra adult guests are charged at $100 per person per night. 
Children aged between 2-13 years are charged at $64 per child per night. 
Infants under 2 are free. 

Please note that a $40.00 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $400 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre-authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

LONGER STAYS
Please contact us for a customised quote for longer stays of 3 nights and over.

NOTES
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.

Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

Fantastic location. The cottage opposite the pond is so peaceful.We loved having a little possum on site with lots of birds & ducks. Great hosts as well

Pretty good

Overall it was nice but we were disappointed with a few aspects of our stay. When we contacted the property manager they were very prompt in addressing what they could which we appreciated. We weren’t comfortable with the lack of privacy in front of the house (no blinds/curtains covering the windows in the living area and kitchen) and some of the items in the kitchen were really grotty. We were there for two nights and there were only 2 coffee pods for our entire stay and minimal teabags. This isn’t a massive deal but we found details like that lacking which was disappointing for the price we were paying. Overall it was comfortable and in a good location. The two bedrooms had their own bathrooms which I liked. I wouldn’t not recommend this place, I just feel like you can get much nicer for the same price or less.

Lovely and quiet

Clean, pretty, lovely spot, basic kitchen and not ideal for a family with 2 older kids as there are only 2 queen beds. A king bed that can be split into 2 singles would have made the trip perfect.
